Last year DBF and I become DVC members. We decided after that kinda investment and the other bills we were paying we needed to not go on vacation for awhile. We scheduled a December 2007 trip. Last week I decided to sign up for Southwest Ding just to see what it had to offer. I had read about a lot of people on Disboards getting great deals. And what do you know, that very day one popped up. So I decided that a VERY short trip to Disney would be okay after all. I really love food and wine and have been dying to go since the last time we went down. Its more of a guilty pleasure than anything else. Im ashamed to be going down there for all of two days but figured it would be fun to get my Disney fix. Were catching a flight down saturday morning and are basically gonna hit the ground running. Have to run and pick up our ap's before we check in. And later that night we will be hitting the Magic Kingdom to see new Haunted Mansion. I cant wait to see the changes that they have made.

So the plan is, Oct 27-29 for food and wine. Staying at AKL on an AP rate.

Cast:

Me-Jessica, 26 year old, administrative assistant, Lover of all things Figment. Collector of Disney Snowglobes and Pins.

DBF-Ruben, 25 year old, Shipping Logistics, Loves Epcot and Donald Duck. Collector of Disney art and sneakers.

Since we are tired of hearing "You guys are going to Disney AGAIN???" we have decided to disappear without telling anyone where we are going. We plan to tell everyone we are going to visit friends in upstate NY LOL (How Sad). The Day after we arrive were going to run to Epcot for Food and Wine. Were not really planning to eat any where just snacks here and there. DBF is quite a fan of Sake so hell be spending his time and Japan. He also raves about the green tea plum wine coolers. Starting to notice a theme here lol. I am heading towards japan for the Kaki Gori. I have never had it and im so excited to get one and try it. Also dying to see the Japanese Candy Maker.

:cool1: How cool that you're getting to go before your big trip! :cool1: Are you going to talk about both the October trip and the December trip in this TR?

:woohoo: My DH and I will be going in December, too. :woohoo: When are you going? We'll be there from 12/18 through 1/1, and we're staying at the AKL for the first time! I noticed you'll be staying there in October. Have you ever been there before? We are so excited about getting to stay there and can't wait to experience the resort, as well as all things WDW.

:figment: :figment: :figment:
It's funny that you are a Figment lover, because I've always been a major Figment lover. I grew up going to WDW, and I can still remember the summer when I went with my family, having saved up who knows how much allowance money, just so I could buy the biggest Figment they had! I carried that sucker through the park, onto the monorail and into our car on our last day of that trip. Even though I'm now married, that Figment is in our bedroom.

Fast forward to 2002. . .I took my DH to WDW for the first time and lo and behold. . .Figment was back, too!!! I didn't realize that he was gone for a while, and I would have been crushed if he hadn't been around when I came back as an adult. I miss the old Figment ride, but at least he's still in Epcot. I got a Figment stuffed animal magnet that year, that's on my fridge. Then, last summer, I went running when my DH pointed out that Figment was walking out of the Imagination building! The smile on my face, when my DH took our picture is hysterical!

I can't wait to hear about your October trip, and about your planning for December. Do you have your itinerary planned yet? Feel free to check out my TR, too. It has been my first attempt at one of these, also. I just love reading them, and like you, thought I'd give my perspective.

Good start to your TR, and I hope your medical situation has improved. :goodvibes

For our October trip here is what we have planned so far.

10/27 leave Islip Airport toward MCO
Arrive about 1:30
Go to hertz, pick up car
Head to DTD to activate our AP.
Lunch at Earl Of Sandwich
Head to AK to check in.
Freshen up and then head off to MK. It closes at 10 tonight so we will still be able to enjoy the park for several hours.

10/28
Epcot
We plan on spending the morning visiting with Figment, going on Soarin, test track.
Later on we plan on eating our way around Food & Wine. We went last year and had a blast. We are thinking of maybe stepping out to maybe Chef Mickey's if we can get an ADR for dinner.

10/29
We will check out of our hotel in the morning. We plan to spend sometime running around MGM. We really enjoyed MGM last time we are there. We had these lemon lime icey drinks last time that were absolutely delicious. We arent leaving Florida till 8:30 so we can spend a lot of time here before we have to check into the hotel.

We do have traditions everytime we go. We trade pins, we visit DTD our first day, we get a glass with the date of our trip, and an ornament for our christmas tree. I've missed Disney so much and I'm so happy to be traveling back there. It will be a nice treat before our trip in December.

For our December trip we are also staying at Animal Kingdom but we will have a 1 bedroom villa. We are also going to be going to MVMCP. We have all our ADR's set. We will be doing the dining plan for the December trip.

I thought I would it be fun to show some pics from last years trip. These were taken last Sept 28-Oct 3rd. We did both Food & Wine and MNSSHP.

Here we go:

Good itinerary for October. Can't wait to hear how it goes and also hear more about your December trip. Nice pics. :goodvibes

We have been busy making plans. We were going to stay at AKL BUT, I was thinking about how we are staying there in the Villas in December and I wanted that trip to remain super special. I made the call to Disney to see what else was available. We were able to secure WL bunkbed woodsview. While we dont need the bunkbeds I'm totally happy to be staying here. After we came back from disney the last time I was planning to go back and stay at the wilderness lodge but then we bought into DVC and they didnt have an availability for December so I put it on the back burner.
We've been very hush hush on our plans trying not to spill the beans. But I spend my time doing this :cool1:  while no one is looking.

We called to make a ressie for our 1 special dinner. We decided on the Flying Fish Cafe. We've heard some good reviews so we figured we'd give it a try.
We have a adr at 530 so hopefully we can get in and out and back to food and wine. I have a feeling all my dieting before this trip is going to be waste as I've been looking over the food and wine menus.

Hey I will be in orlando around the time that your going:cool1: . Im going oct 24-29. And going to disney on the 27th. I'm staying off site :sad1: and that because we are traveling with 14 adults and renting a house is cheaper. Hope to see you there :woohoo: :woohoo:

I can't believe I have less than 30 days till we are in WDW. We decided to change our plans.

For now:
Saturday we fly in. We will go to Epcot after we check in and stay till close.
Sunday we will visit AK in the morning and then MK. Take a short break and head back for MNSSHP. We did it last year and had a blast.
Monday MGM and Epcot then fly home.
