We have just had it confirmed that we cant go to Florida in 3 weeks as we had planned!! :sad2:

Basically my boyfriend was supposed to be getting his bonus early to pay for the trip and now cant so we cant go with our friends. We are both really disapointed and even considered getting a loan to cover the trip as he will be getting his bonus in November but the money still wouldnt come through in time.

We are still planning on going as my boyfriend has gone from not wanting to go but going to make me happy to watching the planning DVD and REALLY wanting to go!

I have been looking at new dates and I would still love to stay at Riverside but all the prices are sky high...I looked at March, which is when I have been before and it is even over £1000 each to stay at Pop!

Do we save our money and then book last minute to get the best price or would it be better to look early and I'm just looking at holidays in the wrong places?

When would you say was the best time of year to go?

Sorry can't help with any words of wisdom but just want to wish you luck on what ever you decide to do :thumbsup2

So sorry you can't go, hopefully if you keep looking you will find something in your budget:sad2:

awww, that is too bad, hope you find an alternative soon!

sorry to hear that its not going well but keep looking at all your options and hopefully you will find a solution :grouphug:

I'll second the first 2 weeks in December :cloud9: - we got a great deal on flights from Gatwick to MCO, 3 nights a AKL and 11 at Riverside for £1000 each at Going Places for the first two weeks in Dec.

I checked the prices booking direct with Virgin and Disney first and took the figures into the travel agents - after lots of phoning around our TA was able to match the price.

Since then we have been upgraded to the Grand Floridian (free of charge:banana:) as our room at AKL is not available anymore due to the construction work.

We are going on honeymoon and have had more than our fair share of pixie dust and we're not even there yet!! :goodvibes

Good luck!

Sorry about your dilemna.
Only thing I can suggest (which means you could still potentially go in 3 weeks time) is to get a 0% Interest on Purchases Credit Card asap.
I did this for 2007 and say your holiday cost was £3000, you would only need to make minimum payment of £90 for each of the next 3 months if you for example went with a Marks and Spencers Card. You can then clear the balance when the Bonus comes through and you'd also avoid interest paid on the Loan option.
Hope that helps

March is expensive because of Easter holidays, if you can go May, June, Novemeber or beginning of Dec then it will be much cheaper. :goodvibes

Thanks everyone!!!

I will have a look into the first two weeks in December and also the credit card thing; my boyfriends credit is so clean it sparkles and the credit card companies are falling over themselves to give him credit!!!
