Just got back from our 9/28-10/4 trip. We had a great time! My DS6 is a tiny thing, and tires easily when he has to do alot of walking, so he INSISTED that he needed a stroller. Since we no longer own one of our own, I borrowed an umbrella stroller from a friend. It didn't have a basket, or a bag, so we really couldn't use it to hold our "stuff". After day one of hunting for the stroller after every ride, we decided it would be easier to go without it.
So, my dh wore a backpack, I had my Vera Bradley backpack, the boys both had a fanny pack, and guess what??? WE SURVIVED without a stroller! Yahoo!!
It was so much easier without one, and when he was tired, we slowed it down. In fact, we took alot more time to stop and smell the roses this trip.
Just wanted to share our experience for those of you on the fence about using one!
