It's the WORST when family is there without you! Disney music is ALWAYS playing but is it wrong that I cry when I listen to it?![]()
Aww bless, the Disney Blues are not fun. I know going back to work isn't much fun either but at least it will take your mind off of it and also you got a new trip to start thinking about for next year![]()
I hate Disney blues. The more I go though, they quicker they seem to come. Usually we hate leaving (of course!) but are happy to get back to 'normal' with the kids. But the kids are getting older and behaving so much better. They also are on their BEST behavior at Disney and I catch them holding hands and saying 'i love you' all the time. So when they are fighting or saying they don't love each other (hey, they are brother and sister after all), I think about the fun times that we all have at Disney.
I'm happy to report that we leave in 11 days for Disney and I'm definitely ready for it!
oh good, it's not just me!
In fact, last week my ipod shuffled to 'Illuminations' when I was at the gym - and I couldn't help shed a few tears when it go to the big finale section!hopefully other people there just thought my eyes were streaming because I was running so fast
hehe.
oh.. and my Mum, Dad & Grandma have just booked their flights to Florida for October-November.. 3 weeks on the coast including 3 nights in WDW for the F&WF!soo jealous lol.

Awww the Disney Blues just stink!! You need to start planning a trip for sometime soon, even something short!!I know my mind is working out ways to convince DBF for another trip and we already have one planned for this year

I have the Disney blues also. I of course am waiting and planning for a new trip, but with being back to school (we are starting our second week already with the kids back), I want to go to Disney even more. We also are hoping that we actually get to go to Disney next summer. We are trying to save for a new house and I don't know if we can really justify going on our vacation now. So I feel your Disney bluesand the being back at work blues

Ugh the Disney blues are the worst! The only thing that helps me is knowing I have another trip planned. When I came home from my trip last November, I had to stay away from the Dis for a while because I wasn't sure when I was going to go back and it just made me too depressed! We all know how you feel!

Not fun at all! I actually cried before my students came in this morning. The fact that my sister just got there really makes Disney seem "real," if that makes sense! So it was all really just bad timing! It would be better if the potential trip was actually booked....

I also have the Disney Blues!!and they are terrible! We just got back a few weeks ago, and do not have another trip planned until Jan or Feb of 2012, unless a miracle happens and we could get back sooner. But, that does not seem possible, we were fortunate enough though to have two trips in both 2009 and 2010, so I am thankful for that. It just is awful not having a trip to plan before 2012 though.
I also wish I was sitting in the World Showcase right now! At least we have the Dis to keep us somewhat satisfied, since we cannot be there.
By the way, I love your trip report, it rocks!!!!![]()
Hey guys! I need your help!
For back to school night, I usually make a power point presentation of what I want to tell my parents but I also do a little slideshow. Up until now, I've just added pictures to iphoto and set it to a song, without any editing or anything...just let it play however it happens.
But now that I've done a few videos on imovie, I really want to do something special for back to school night.
I'm thinking of doing a music video, combination of pictures of the kids, video of the kids AND some video of them singing the song, like a REAL music video! I think the parents will just LOVE it!
So what song should I use? It has to be a song that most of the kids already know or is easy to learn, as I don't have much time! I was thinking Smash Mouth - All Star because I know kids LOVE that song from Shrek but that was a few years ago.
What songs do you think would fit with the kids, they might already now and would make a fun video? Any suggestions are welcome! I really have NO clue what the kids are listening to these day! (I sound like an old lady!) Any good Miley or Jonas Bros song that would work?
Anything!
Nikki- did you see the Black Eyed Peas song Evergreen covered last year? There's a vid on their site. They changed the words a bit- made it about books- but you should watch it, it's ADORABLE!!
As for what they listen to....do they still like Green Day? I know that's too "little kid and I am soooooo over them" for my 8th grader, but I think in 2nd or 3rd grade was when he loved them. What about Nickleback?
Wish I could help! I don't know WHAT kids listen to! I have two nieces, but they are 5 and almost-3, so they really like Disney music.Anything from the princess movies keeps them happy.
And hey - I totally hear you about a house. I've resolved myself to the fact that the only way I'll EVER own a house is if I inherit my parents' place. We rent a house now from a good family friend, so i'm not complaining, but no home ownership is in our future. My student loans are as big as a mortgage anyway!
What about a HSM one? Those are quite catchy![]()
Ok Nikki, as a mom of an almost 11 year old, 3 year old that thinks she's 11, and a K teacher, I might can help you out. Don't know what age you teach, though.
Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus is a great one. We do a lot of slideshows at school, and that one is a huge hit with the kids! With the chorus:
"Put my hands up, they're playing my song, and the butterfiles fly away", I can totally see the kids dancing with that one!
Don't know what age you have, but the kids are pretty much over Jo Bros and HSM for my daughter's age. Justin Bieber is HUGE for all the ages listed above. Honestly, though, I can't think of a song of his that would work. For someone unknown reason, I can't get my itunes to open so that I can check out AK's playlist. Staying with the "teeny bopper" theme, Selena Gomez is pretty big right now. Most of the younger kids still like Life is a Highway by Rascal Flats from Cars, and Camp Rock 2 just came out, might be some good songs there. We do "All in this together" from HSM, we're the Wildcats so it's kinda an unofficial theme song for our school. IF you have younger kids, they would go for this one. Older would not.
2nd grade and down would probably go for "You've got a friend in me" since TS3 came out.
ABove about 4th grade, pretty much anything top 40 is what they are after. Black Eyed Peas "I've gotta Feeling" is one they like, not sure about the appropriateness of some of the lyrics. Don't know why my stupid itunes won't open.
Anyway, there's a few ideas. Hope that helps.
