Welcome back! Hope you had a nice trip! We did enjoy the breakfast at Tusker House but probably won't do it again. We are really partial to the puffed french toast at Crystal Palace!

If you want the silver ones, try to get them online in advance. They are reeally hard to find!

Nikki, did you receive your D23 magazine?

Ugh, NO! And I e-mailed D23 the other day and "Nick" wrote me back telling me to give it a few more days. I was actually kind of mean in my e-mail but this is the 3rd time since renewing the I didn't get my magazine and that's not right! Especially since I was very nice the first two times and the last time I specifically said, "Is this going to happen every time?" And he assured me it wouldn't!

My e-mail said something like, "I am a huge Disney fan, a WDW Annual Passholder and a Day One Charter Member. It is very upsetting when people around me are excited that their magazines have arrived and I am without mine..."

Oh, I never saw that movie. I went to Food and Wine just once last year and it was a very short trip. I am HOOKED though! I wish I could go every year!

OMG I was catching up and 1st "popped" on to where you mentioned about a Kernal, then feeling it move and thought OMG is that what she's calling a baby and is prego? and got all excited for you then read up and felt like a dork LOL

cant wait for the next update LOL

Hopefully it will arrive this week. Sending good vibes!

Thanks! I doubt it will come though....

Hahah! NO! It was an actual kernel!

Thank goodness that kernel dislodged! :thumbsup2 I know what you mean about still thinking the worst though...I have issues with that too. I fell out of bed one morning and bumped my head on the nightstand. I refused to go to sleep for like 48 hours because I was sure I had that head injury like Natasha Richardson did and I would die! :rotfl: I had the kids scared to death. Told you...major issues. Don't know if I could have handled the kernel as well as you did.

I would have done the same thing!! That's so funny!

Hi Nikki!

We were there around the same time. We were there July 5-8. It was a last minute trip planned. We said the same thing about SE. We thought that maybe it was when they took down that hand that used to be there. But we were there before after they took that down and it was fine. I'm loving reading your trip. We were at MK the night of your dessert party too with the rain. Can't wait to read more!

Day 7 ~ Doing World Showcase RIGHT!
July 7, 2010

We slept in a little this morning. (Although, as you'll see, this day actually turned out to be quite busy!) I had the weather channel on while Tom was in the shower and as we were getting ready to leave, Tom started to instinctually pack the "rain bag" and after careful review of the still ambiguous weather report, I decided that it was safe to leave the rain bag in the room!! Tom did a double take and gave me a look of complete bewilderment, as if I was speaking another language he couldn't understand. Then a giant look of relief came over him and he happily put down the bag and we left the room - RAIN BAG FREE!!

We got on the bus to Epcot around 11:00. Since we had an ADR for Beirgarten at 1, we decided to take the long way around and begin WS in Canada, taking pictures along the way...

Look! It's Marie!

Once we got to Japan, I had to recreate a moment...

Okay, remember this picture I took on the 4th of July?!
ry%3D480

And then remember this picture I took of a giant bruise on my shin a week later?
ry%3D400

Let me recreate this for you!

When I went to take this picture, I stepped up right next to this STONE bench...but after I took the picture, I completely forgot it was there. So I turned and walked away. Except I didn't even take one step, before I SLAMMED my shin right into the bench! I immediately knew it was going to leave a GIANT bruise because I bruise very easily, as it is, and this was the hardest I had hit myself in a LONG time!
ry%3D480

This is what the bruise looked like three days later. You can't really see it that well in this picture. The bruise itself wasn't too bad at that point but there was a pretty big bump!
ry%3D480

Next stop...bathroom! Who can tell me where this is???

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

If you guessed America, you are right! Tom actually had the camera at this point and usually when we got to the bathroom, we give each other whatever we're holding (unless we both go) but this time I asked him for the camera! He was like, "For the bathroom?!" Yes! I think next time I'm going to take a picture of every bathroom I visit because I feel like every bathroom is so unique and I know so many of them so well!

Anyway, we finally made it to Germany and checked in for our lunch.

Last summer was the first time we'd ever eaten at the Beirgarten. I am really weird about my food AND about talking to people I don't know but there are so many awesome things about this restaurant that we just HAD to come back! First of all, the inside is just gorgeous!
ry%3D480

The food is not the best, but it's not bad. I was glad that they had chicken schnitzel this time, last time they didn't have that. Here was my first plate.
ry%3D480

And my second plate...
ry%3D480

OH, I also had the beer sampler. I didn't take a picture of is this time, but here is a picture of the sampler from last summer.
ry%3D400

Then the show started. Here are a bunch of pics and video from that lunch!

Fun, right?! If you've never eaten at the Beirgarten, I highly recommend it! The show is really great and by the time you leave (well me anyway) I've had enough to drink that I don't so much mind sitting with strangers anymore!

Oh btw, after my beer flight, I ordered a pint of Spaten Oktoberfest! :drinking1
