We Bought The All U Can Eat Meal Deal-What Time Can We Start Our Feeding Frenzy?

We did the meal deal in November and were told it started at 11 a.m. but Mel's and the circus cafe in Seuss Landing let us start at 10:30 a.m. Not sure if the other places do as well.

would like to say this is a good deal but when you consider the very limited places you get to eat it just isn't worth it and stay away from international film cause it is the worst place in the parks to eat.:scared:

IFFF and Mel's are hit-or-miss, really.

Sorry US newbie here thinking of going for the 1st time in Oct what is the meal plan all about and what are the costs? Is it the same as disney you have to be on site. Getting an awesome deal from a DVC owner for AKL.

Sometimes Citywalk is included but right now it isn't.

We did the Meal Deal for one of the days we went to US/IOA. I also added the Citywalk option for $5. I made reservations for dinner at Pat O'Briens for 7:30 pm that night.

I have two DSs - ages 19 and 14 and I bought this plan because they are always hungry and I figured this would be a good way to get more bang for my buck. The plan was to first eat at 11:00 am and then again at 3:00 pm and finish off with dinner at Pat O'Brien's.

Well, we got a late start to the day and didn't eat lunch until around 1:30pm. And wouldn't you know it, they were not hungry again until dinner time :rotfl:

We had lunch at Captain America. We ordered burgers and chicken sandwiches. The food was good. The Meal Deal comes with dessert. We ordered the jello, the chocolate cake and the lemon cake. They were OK.

We enjoyed our dinner at Pat O'Briens. I started with a bowl of Shrimp Gumbo which was delicious (I had to pay out of pocket). For dinner I had the Cancun Shrimp, my oldest DS had the Muffaletta sandwich and my youngest DS had the Shrimp Po Boy.

Overall, I don't think the Meal Deal was a good value. For $25 a person, we got lunch and dinner but it would have cost less than $25 per person if I had paid OOP. Also, I decided not to buy the sipper cup because I didn't think we would each drink $9 worth of pop and we didn't.

I'm thinking of trying it for my next trip. But I probably won't eat anything the day before.

Just a small update: Citywalk can now be added for an extra $5 regardless of whether the parks close early or not.

I just wanted to add that when I purchased the plan for DS and me last year, the kids cookies could also be subbed with a small cup of grapes. This came in handy when not only was DS tired of having a cookie (which are delicious usually, btw!), but I was wanting him to have something healthier.

Not sure if things have changed though.

We loved Louies pizza, VERY VERY GOOD. Two of us (adults) are going to Universal in Feb, we did opt to get the meal deal for the 2 full days we will be there, we already have the sipper cups from a previous visit, we will be at the parks from open to close for 2 days and a half day for another.....there are good choices of food and there are a lot of poor choices........I think the adults have a much better selection. Have one person in the group get it, if you like it, you can buy it too........$20 to eat 2 or 3 meals in a park is cheap.
