We were all set for CR for next July. Well, garden wing rooms are ALREADY sold out! Tower rooms are out of our price range, so we booked Poly garden view instead. We had gotten really excited about the CR (and walkway to MK), so now we have to get ourselves totally excited about the Poly. It's where I stayed as a child, but I really don't remember much about it. And I have read several so-so reviews lately.

Now, we are not hotel snobs. We usually stay in Hampton Inn-type hotels, so I am assuming this is somewhat nicer, no? We do plan on spending quite a bit of time at the resort hanging out and swimming, which is why we opted for a deluxe in the first place. Please tell me that we'll love it!

You will love it! IMHO the pool area is much nicer than CR. You won't have the walkway but you'll have both the monorail and the boat over to MK which is great when you have little ones. The boat is very relaxing. You can also walk over to the Transportation and Ticket Center to catch the monorail to EPCOT. Ohana and Kona are both great restaurants and you can get a dole whip at Captain Cooks! Nothing beats watches Wishes while you are swimming in the pool. Have a wonderful trip. When in July are you going?

We have never been able to actually stay at the Poly but at least once each trip we go over and eat, shop, look around...This is my favorite WDW resort...it is themed beautifully!:goodvibes

Will you love the Poly? Let me see? Palm trees, beautiful foligae, titki torches, the beach, view of MK, Wishes at night, Volcano pool, monorail, close to TTC. leis at check in, music on the grounds- Yes I think you will love it there, I know I did!

 You will love it! It's my very favorite! We usually always stay in the moderates but if I had a choice to stay anywhere, money no object, I'd pick the Poly!

I love the spread out grounds! It's especially beautiful at night! You'll love it! It's like a vacation within a vacation!

Enjoy!

I"m glad you started this thread. We are looking into staying here also and wanted to hear what people had to say!

Yes you will love it!! Someday I hope to stay again, but since we need two rooms for my family it is not within our budget now. The top five reasons we loved it were:

The atmosphere-you simply cannot beat it. Take a walk around the resort at night when all the tiki torches are lit, very peaceful.

Watching the electric water parade and wishes from the beach. The kids loved this so much.

The beds are extremely comfortable. So much in fact that even my kids had a tough time getting out of them in the morning.

Transportation options to the MK either boat or monorail and you get there fast. It wont be too much of a difference from CR.

Ohana's- some people like it, some dont. I personally enjoyed it very much, namely the potatoes and the wings. Everything else tasted good too, including the dessert. The kids had fun here and enjoyed the games they played during dinner.

I am sure you will have a wonderful trip and once you are there you will see why there are so many that go back over and over again.

You will love the POLY. We stayed there for 5 nights back in March and we were very happy. We had a garden view room in the Samoa building. The room is huge and clean. The grounds are beautiful, and the pool/beach area was great. I wish I would've spent more time at the beach, because my kids had a blast playing in the sand! You will not be disappointed!

It's definitely my favorite place! We are Vacation club members and every once in awhile we use our points to stay at the Poly. Yes we use more points for there than for one of the DVC resorts but, atleast to me, the Poly is definitely an island resort.

You will love it!!!!! It's my favorite Deluxe resort!

You do also get a walkway to the TTC so you don't have to walk from the wings to the building to get on the monorail when you want to go to Epcot. It's very handy that way! I think it is the best location of all the resorts (we usually spend most of our time at Epcot and MK).

The theming is top notch. The hammocks on the beach are wonderful and just give an all out relaxing vacation IMO.

I'd love to stay there again... you will NOT be disappointed!!!

We have visited other staying there and have spent time there. We love it and it is high on the list of places to stay.

The monorail is another great plus. You will be hard pressed to stay at another resort once you have been on the loop.

Yeah, you will love it!!! I've been by there a bunch of times on the Monorail but have never stayed as it it currently out of our price range. One of these days that will change once DH changes careers. But for now we'll have to stick to the Moderate resorts.

I've never heard anyone say anything bad about the Poly. Everyone has always raved about it.

I'm so jealous of you! Can I come too?

I love love love the Poly!!

I can't say I have one single complaint....well maybe the price :scared1:, but what can you do?

I totally agree with your comments. We just got back from a split stay at POR for 4 days and Poly Club LV (Room 3516) for 3 days. OMG the Poly is unbelieviable. Our view for the Wishes fireworks was great. We were moved from the AKL to the Poly and could not have been happier. On a side note, we did visit the AKL and boy am I glad we were moved. The construction was loud and to my surprise, the resort is very secluded (not my cup of tea).

I keep going back and forth between Por and Poly. I'm even considering the split stay. How are the Poly busses? Were you glad you split the stay? Or do you wish you had stayed the whole time at the Poly. We have 6 nights and i want to make the most of our time and experience. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Our first trip to disney we stayed at the Poly, we won't try anything else now! Unfortunately, now we're hooked on Lagoon View Concierge too! Can't wait for spring 08!

You will absolutely love it! It's our favorite and I'm a bit sad that we won't be there for our next visit.
