That's right, we're heading home!!! Sept. 24-27 we're going to be visiting Vero Beach for the first time. then over to VWL for 8 days. I can't wait. What activites are there at Vero Beach? I can't see me sitting on the beach doing nothing for three days.

Hehe.... that's pretty-much why I've never exchanged into VB. I'll be interested to see what answers you get: What is there at VB that will appeal to folks who typically use DVC to go to theme parks. :)

Well, different strokes for different folks! I LOVE Disney and I LOVE sitting on the beach doing nothing! You are talking to someone who has already booked 4 weeks at the beach this summer. I have been so stressed out with soccer coaching, teaching, karate classes, taking courses, etc. that I need a beach vacation! My husband is going on a trip to Orlando in May and (of course, the original DH - Disney husband!) wants us to come and do the parks! Since we already have a 2 week Disney vacation planned in November, the beach bunny side of me asked for a Vero Beach vacation instead (reason number 5 million and one that DVC is the best - choice!). I don't do a commando vacation when we go to Disney, but, let's face it, it is A LOT of walking and a working vacation! He, slowly relented, and we are going for 6 days (is that enough?) in May. I have never been there, but I am really looking forward to it! Would I always choose a beach vacation over Disney Parks? NO WAY! I LOVE Disney. I definitely have the NEED to go every year. However, I am really looking forward to some Pina Coladas and sitting in the shade of an umbrella while my kids play in the sand and jump some waves! By the way, I have raised two little beach bunnies. They can last on the beach almost as long as I can!

There still may be some turtle hatchings at that time. Night turtle walks with a great naturalist, either from VB or from another authorized concern are informative and very special.

Bike rides, and visiting local places like the Harborbranch Oceanographic Institute in Ft. Pierce are other suggestions.
