Oh Yikes! That was fast Marshay! Awesome...but fast!

The Fleagles are getting prepared for your arrival. We start our trip tomorrow after I get back from rehearsal. Does that sound good?

However, I am big on Pre-planning! For your trip with us you'll need to pack the following:

1. Earplugs...remember we have 4 kids, and even in this virtual road trip they will drive you nuts.

2. Sunglasses, sunblock, and some chapstick.

3. A notebook and several #2 pencils

4. Don't forget your camera.

5. Tennis shoes or sneakers.

6. Water bottle are a must and I'll supply the snacks.

7. Finally, some dramamine and/or a barf bag.

Anything else I be sure to mention prior to your arrival. Until then here are our travelling music picks.

Hello Dis Friends and Family! On behalf of the Fleagle Family (aka the Kidwell Family) let me extend a warm welcome to you as you enter our area of historical Yorktown, Virginia!

Yorktown is located in between Newport News and Williamsburg. This is historically rich area and is most referred to as part of the historical triangle which includes Yorktown, Jamestown, and Williamsburg. All of which we will tour during your brief stay with us!

First order of business is a wonderful dinner at our house. While there are many wonderful restaurants for us to visit, I thought that southern hospitality would be better served if we all took a break and had dinner at our house! I make a pretty good lasagne (so I’m told) so let’s all gather at the kidwell dinner table and share a meal.

kidding...not really our table! But this is our home and the all the diskids can play around in our backyard. Not nearly as big as Marshay’s, but it will do!

Now, if you are history buffs then you will love your visit with us! So take out your cameras and notebooks...you’ll surely love the day we have planned.

Literally 5 minutes from our house are the historic Yortown Battlefields! In 1781 Yorktown was referred to as a “sleepy port town”. Yet it was here that America, along with its French allies, ended a three-week siege through the use of skill, raw determination, a little luck, and a lot of plain old digging, to win a decisive battle that would turn the tides for war forever in favor of a free America over the British.

Walking the narrow streets of Yorktown today allows one to become immersed in the 300 years of history the town has to share. The natural beauty of the town and its history offer an opportunity for relaxation and for reflection upon the events that led to the creation of a great nation.

Side note: Eric’s soccer league he formed is called the Yorktown Siege!
