we arrive in the middle of the night...hotel check-in?? need help!

We're renting points for a stay at OKW or BWV and it appears that the only available flight for our date of arrival gets into MCO at 12:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Our hotel stay begins with Sunday night meaning that check-in is officially at 4pm that day. What should we do? Be bums and sleep in the hotel lobby until daybreak? Spend the cash we saved to pay for an extra night at a value resort? Sleep at MCO and schedule an ME pickup for 9am???

We've never been in this spot before...please help!!!

DVC resorts are not know to have rooms ready early. I'm not even sure security will let you sleep in the lobby.

I'd try to get a room by MCO using Priceline. Shouldn't be much more than $50 for a 3* or see what a value resort will cost. You really don't have a choice. You really can't sleep in the hotel lobby or at MCO and walking around the Boardwalk for 5 hours will get old. Any free option will cause you to be so tired you're first day or two will be a wipe out.

Spend the cash for a room.

You may want to look at staying at the airport. I think it is a Hyatt. I don't think ME runs that late and I know airport security will not let you hang around for more than a few hours. If you are renting a car you could look for a hotel on International drive. My DH and I did this a few years back at a Days Inn for $35. We went through Travelocity.

DME runs as long as there are flights but I don't think you could stay in the airport for hours and count on getting a DME bus if security finally throws you out at 3a.

Some of the money you save on airfare is going to have to go to pay for an inexpensive hotel room. The Hyatt tends to be more expensive than the other hotels in the airport area. In the morning just take the airport shuttle back to MCO and take DME to your resort.

I would just stay at a Value resort and take DME right over there when you get in.

If it were me, I would stay at a value for a night and then move over. It should only cost you an extra $30-40 over a cheap airport hotel, but you have the benefit of being able to have Disney transfer your luggage for you. You could then actually go to the parks for a bit in the AM and then go over and check in

Have the ME number 866-599-0951 with you when you arrive. If your late night flight is late the ME welcoming area may be closed and, although reports on these boards so far have indicated the transportation was still provided, it was necessary to call the number.

If this were a poll question I vote for staying at an airport hotel for that first night. Keeps your circadian rhythm i.e. sleep cycle better aligned, the opposite effect being the creation of jet lag.

We flew in about midnight, I got a room at the MCO Marriott on Priceline for less than $55. Cheaper than the Disney value resort. Took the free shuttle from the airport and back and then caught the transportation to BWV. Got a relatively good night sleep and started out refreshed.

Priceline a cheapo hotel by MCO. You can get 2stars for around 30 per night. This way, you wont have to deal with driving in the dark to Disney...

Some of the PL 2* hotels don't offer a 24 hour complimentary shuttle, some of your savings will go toward a $10 cab ride.
