for our next trip. We were just there Aug 2nd - 9th. September is our normal trip but it just didn't work out for this year or next. So tell me all about early MAY!! crowds? weather?

Thanks

Crowds? Just starting to build! We're going 5/7 - 5/12, just before Mother's Day and before most schools (at least in NE) get out. Weather is usually near perfect, in the upper 80's with moderate humidity and comfortable nights. Also, the Flower & Garden Fest at Epcot with great exhibits and good concerts at the American Gardens Pavillion. I recommend that time of year! ;)

Ditto to the above post. We were just there May 8 - 14. We had only one day of heavy crowds, Friday the 13th, standby waits at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain were 65-70 minutes.

Great time to go!

We've gone the first or second week of May the past 6 years. Great time to go! Crowds on the light side, weather can get hot but not as humid as summer. Very little rain. This past 5/7 to 5/12, it was in the low/mid 80's and rain only on one evening.

We ALWAYS go during the same time frame. The first and second week in May. It's a GREAT time of the year to go. We don't experience crowds, the weather is perfect (at least for us Northerners) and the parks still have good/ok hours. You won't get the late nights like mid-summer, but you still can do the EMH at night, and when the crowds are as low as they are during this time of the year, the lines for attractions are mostly non-existent, so you get more done in a day.
Good luck! Where are you staying--that can make a difference as well.

We went May 2-15.

The trip before that we went Jul 30-Aug 8, 2003.

During the 2003 trip we had a great time. Sure, it was hot and folks were dropping like flies, but being from Memphis we're used to hot, humid weather. (It was 104 today and right now, at 10:25 PM it's 91.)

We didn't realize how crowded the 03 trip was until we went in May.

The weather was fantastic! The crowds -- I hesitate to say crowds -- were NOTHING. We had very few waits that approached 20 minutes. We did have 2 longer waits that approached 45 minutes -- Kali River Rapids and Splash Mtn.

Other than that, there were a few rides where we got to stay and ride again.

We decided May right before school gets out, is the time to go.

At some point we're going to try September right after school starts to see how that goes. Plus, we want to catch Night of Joy some time.

Anyway, back to the point -- you'll love early May!

Gee, I'm really happy to hear this. SkipperBubba pirate: and I :maleficen had been mulling over a late April/early May trip for 2006.
We're used to the lighter crowds of late October/early November, and trying early December this year. Glad to hear beginning of May's not an uber-madhouse either.
Thanks!

We went May 5-9 this past year, thought May would be great, except when planning, had no idea it was the beginning of the Celebration. So, it was much more crowded than usual. Now that I'll be back teaching, we'll have to go in July or August, like you. How was that? In terms of weather and crowds?

We were there on May 10 through 15 of this year and thought the crowds were very light. We used TourGuide Mike and never waited longer than 20 minutes for anything. Most things we practically walked on. Would go back during that timeframe in a minute!!
