I was wondering what you all thought about going to AK or Epcot with a 4yr old. He is a child with a disability so we are making this a slow, follow his lead trip. At 1st we were going to go to MK each day for the rides and shows. But the more I read about different parks I like some of the things they have too. So I guess my question is :scratchin do we need to see AK too? We will go back when he is older so this is not a see everything trip. I just didn't want to get back and everyone say did he love AK or another place? We have a travel day then 3 full days and then a travel day. (MK all 3 days or 2 days MK and 1 day another) Thank you! :)

i would make 1 day at AK. most kids love animals and AKhas animals. then of course 3 days at MK. :thumbsup2

I would split them up...a day at MK, a day at AK. Then, you could go to Epcot for part of a day, and have a break at lunch, then head back to MK if you felt like it. If you have four days, you'll have lots of time if you're thinking about a leisurely pace. Your ds is still young, so you won't have to worry about hitting those 'big attractions'. Have a great trip.

Definately AK. It's a much more slower and relaxed pace than MK. Does he like trains? The train ride is nice, and he'd probably really enjoy the animals.

I'd stay away from It's Tough to A Bug if he startles easily or doesn't like surprises. My DD rides roller coasters and she HATES ITTBAB! The Lion King show would probably be a lot of fun for him, and Pocohontias, too -- there's lots of little animals in that one. The kids can sit in the front and parents sit in the back so the kids have a great view.

I would definately do AK. I hope y'all have a great trip! :)

The shows and things at the MGM studio he may enjoy as well. Does he watch Playhouse Disney? Many of the characters are there. Beauty and the Beast show. Why not go for AK morning and MGM afternoon? Then MK one day and try Epcot for a little bit if he likes it, if not go back to MK :sunny:

It depends on your child I have ds11 with cp/encephlopathy
and ds5 has sensory integration disfunction can become very over whelmed at times. The only thing that ever bothered him at disney was all the people he had to be carried alot the 1st couple times we went but that really wasn't a big deal for us we took turns and had a stroller. If you have a hopper pass play it be ear and wait and see how he reacts. My younger song makes huge strides every time we go his teacher suggested moving there :rotfl2: I wish.
We only do around half day at AK not a whole lot he enjoys for long periods of time. the 4d movies are a little scary he does not usually like the 3d glasses but neither do the other 2kids

Thank you so much for your all info on diff. parks! Ds had a stroke at birth so he is walking but has right side weakness with sensory integration disfunction and on meds for seizures. I like the ideas about part of a day here or there. He loves trains and animals. I didn't think about MGM and the Playhouse Disney things. Thank you! :teeth:
