AKL! We could only get decent airline prices the day ahead of our January OKW dates, so we are spending one cash night at AKL Savannah view! I think 1 night will be just enough for me.

Next fall we will be spending a few nights at the AKL then jump on a 3 day Cruise then return to BWV (or OKW, depending on how things go at the 7 month mark).

Please let us know how you like the AKL.
We just returned from our fist DCL experience and less than a week later have booked our next Disney vacation. Isnt that the way it goes. You get a taste of the Magic and have to know when you can go back.

I hope you have a wonderful stay at both resorts.

That's funny, I had it booked for one night after our January cruise, I just called yesterday at switched it to BWI. The rates are soo good for AP holders right now, it didn't seem worth using points. After my stay last month, I can't give up the Boardwalk night life. Didn't know if I could handle the AK.

LOL, I can "handle the AKL"! I really wanted to try the Savannah view once. It should be just as quiet as our OKW home unless the animals are noisy!

Before the rest of my family arrived for our wonderful 12/1 to 12/9 stay at BWV this year, I arrived a day early and stayed one night at Savannah View at AKL, and it was wonderful!

I could hardly get to sleep that night, just stayed up on the balcony and watched the various animals coming and going. Many have nocturnal feeding habits, and they cycle around their habitats. Early morning was also a fine time to see many animals.

Also be sure to walk out to make the rounds of the viewing areas. Guides hang out there and are super to talk to, they are very knowledgable about the animals and also have interesting stories and perspectives to share about the countries they come from (Kenya, for instance).

The most thrilling view was the night I arrived, which was the blue moon in November. The sight of the moon rising over the savannah past streams of tattered clouds was breathtaking.

You will love AKL! And if you can fit it in your budget, eat at Jiko for dinner! YUM! :>

Our next DVC vacation will be on the Disney Magic Nov 30th, 2002. At least that is what we are hoping for as we cannot make the ressie until Dec 31st. What a great way to ring in the New Year.
But when we get on that ship Nov 30th, 2002 our next DVC vacation will already be booked. We are then planning on VWL (our "home") Oct 2003 and can book that in Nov 2002.

We stayed for 5 nights at AKL before our last 2 week DVC vacation. We loved the AKL. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. We love trying different Disney resorts and almost always combine our DVC stays with 4 or 5 nights at different Disney resorts. We really enjoyed our AKL experience and hope you do too!!!
