I am glad to hear you had a nice Christmas and love the pics! We loved getting your xmas card. I would have replied on my pre trip report- but it has been moved to completed??? (I asked to have them move it back!) I am going to start updating it every day now that the trip is 4 weeks away!!!!

Too funny about Ashton's reaction to the bike. Mitchell did not get excited over his bike last year, either. I was so excited for him to get it, and he could have cared less! Ashton will like it soon enough, I promise! Especially once it warms up some. We're sitting at thirty degrees right now and it doesn't look much better for the rest of the day.

Summer, where are you????

Hello! Everyone...
no Ginny I still have not gone to buy a power cord; went to Walmart today and thought about it after I was loading the car...probably don't have it anyway, we have always bought it at Best Buy....

I went and bought another ham; Dayne seems to love ham all of a sudden and since he doesn't eat much I figured I would bake one toady, slice it and make sandwiches for Danny and let Dayne eat it till he is content

Leanne, glad you finally received your card...I am going to have to do better next year... I was horrible this year...you would think I worked outside the house as scattered as I was this year......in the past I would buy my cards after New Year's address them, sign them all, and have the ready for the following year...that was when I worked outside the home (I seem to be more organized that way ).

Mel~ Ashton is riding his bike around the house and getting the hang of it...tomorrow, since Chloe will not be with us we are finally going to go see the Princess and the Frog or the frog movie as Ashton calls it--than we will connect his Extreme bike to the TV he really seems to like it and it is really helping with his pedaling.

We have been on a big Ham kick in this house too! I think after Christmas though, I am not going to make it again for awhile. We went and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks today. We had a great day!! For New Years eve, we are having some neighbors over, and playing Disney Bingo and I am making Lasagna and then for New Years Day we are going to see Princess and the Frog! You will have to let me know how it is!!!!

Hi Connie! My parents are keeping the girls and Joe and I are going over to a friends for games and a few adult beverages. I will be DD so none for me. I hope you enjoy "the frog movie". It was a hit here.

Nickie, my girls are tore up over the Chipmunk movie. They want to see it bad. We may take them on New Year's Day since Joe will be back to work on Saturday. What did you and your boys think of it?

Hey Connie! For New Year's we have a tradition with Bryan's family. Bryan's mom & dad started going to this dance at a hall in CHauvin when Bryan was a kid. ABout 25 years ago at that very dance, Bryan's grandfather had a massive heart attack while dancing at midnight. His grandfather died 9 days later. Since then, his parents have returned to that dance every single year. When Bryan and I were old enough to go to the dance, we started joining his parents, aunts, and uncles at that dance. Soooooo, we will be going to the Ward 7 dance in Chauvin with his parent and siblings for NYE.

We brought the boys to Watch the Chipmunks as well. They LOVED it!

My computer is fixed and I am so happy. I went to my geek guy that does my repairs at work. He gave me a good deal on the AC adaptor.

We have no plans. Sheri and Mike are headed to Nashville. Andrew is going with them and Austin is staying home. He has some plan with his buds for New Years Eve and Don will be in bed by 9 or maybe 9:30. I am using Austin's car for now. Sheri and Mike have to use mine. The only car the have is Austins as they have work cars but they can't take them that far. Austin has that huge stereo system and boom box in the trunk so there is no luggage room. Boys. I'm only working till noon tomorrow and Thursday. Oh,and I have to cook mushrooms and chicken gizzards for Don and Austin one night. They love them and Don's brother sent home two big batches of mushrooms he picked. Am I every woman or what?

Good morning, Connie. We don't have any plans for New Year's Eve. Mark likes to call it "amateur night" and prefers to stay home. We'll probably go to bed relatively early as both boys will be gone and we want to go to PF Changs on Friday for my bday and a movie.

Well, still no frog movie...the rain started around 5 am and will be with us through tonight...Danny worked around here this morning and came home early...he did not think it was a good idea to take Ashton out in this weather and he is right! --although what better weather to sit in a theater :. but, I sit here listening to his cough and we are just waiting for the runny nose to start (that is what Chloe has)...so, now I guess I'm putting it off until Friday, Sunday or Monday --if it's still playing by than?!? chloe has seen it already and I really don't want to bring her with me she does not sit still through movies?!?

As for our plans NYE; we normally stay home and watch Dayne and friends light fireworks...we use to get together with our neighbors but for the last few years--she goes to bed around 9pm (so she says)...I am trying to talk Danny into an early dinner at the gulf coast but he has to work so I'm sure we will just stay home (it is normally really foggy here--although I think this year will be clear--so we usually don't want to hit the road with the drunks) we are always invited across the lake to friends but again we usually don't care to get on the road with all the partygoers...I know we are boring and act older than we are...my parents have more exciting NYE than we do :rothfl2:

I am thinking of taking Mitchell to the movies tomorrow. It will either be the Princess and the frog or Alvin and the Chipmunks. I'm going to let Mitchell decide. I'd be happy to see either one!

So sorry that Ashton is getting sick. Poor baby. Chloe gets it and then Ashton. I know you will be looking forward to the warmer weather! Me, too. It never even made it to the high of fifty today. We're still sitting chilly at 46 degrees. I can never feel my toes until April or so. I hate winter.

At least I'm not sitting somewhere watching it snow, so I guess it could be so much worse. I really shouldn't complain.

And I don't blame you one bit for not getting out on the highways for New Years. It is really safer not to. It's a shame to say, but people DO Drink and Drive. It makes me angry to think that people still do that and even angrier to think that some careless person could cause harm to come to my family.

Okay, I won't get started on that.
