Hi Connie!

I am finally joining in on your PTR:woohoo:

I like the atmosphere of the character meals- they are great with the kids. However, I did Crystal Palace on the ddp last august, and I would not say it is the greatest food. It may be better for breakfast though because we had dinner there. I think when we go back if we decide to do a character meal that it will definitely be a breakfast one. Breakfast food is pretty cut and dry, and plus all the mickey waffles you can eat :yay: Listen at me rambling on :confused3 :confused3. So I see our new trio is gearing up for "Handy Manny" tomorrow night :rotfl2::rotfl2: I am sooo up for the tacos!!!

Well, have a great night:yay:
:welcome:! Janine
you will fit in here fine and have a great time too!
I have some super wonderful friends here you will see post with me quite often! you'll meet Ginny, Mel, Lisa, Heather, Pam, Barbara, Missy, & Jen! we get OT quite a bit but please feel free to join in whenever you want; we are an open bunch!!!

Can't wait to keep up the planning!
I have been to CP for breakfast a long time ago! it was really good; I have heard that about just about ALL the buffets at WDW (that the breakfast ones are good; but, lunch and dinner were just ok or downright aweful!) That is why I have decided to go with all the character buffets and two sit down dinners! We just need one more place to chose from! :confused3

Happy Planning!
:wave2:

Hi Connie, your restaurant choices look great. I'm pretty sure we'll end up going with the QDP, but if our minds change and we do go with the DDP, Crystal Palace and Whispering Canyon would be 2 of our must dos too.

Good afternoon Connie,

Sorry I haven't been around the last day or two.....you know all about our family medical problems so I know you forgive me.:thumbsup2

We ate dinner at Crystal Palace and Whispering Canyon and loved both of them. If you do decide to do the dining plan, you get the most bang for your buck if you use your table service credits at dinner time.

Lisa~
Thanks for stopping in! with all that you have on your plate...take it easy and I hope things get better soon! I realize that about the DDP but I have also heard that the characters breakfasts are so much better than lunch or dinner! We do need one more place to choose as a sit down dinner! I figured 5 TS meals; 3breakfast and 2 dinners

Barbara~
we had a very very wet day! Danny & Dayne worked on his car--again! :headache:
watched the end of the Saints Game!!! :yay: now we are watching "Handy Manny"'s prime time special and cooking mexican for dinner tonight!!
Chimichangas(beef & chicken) w/ a small paella

Have a great evening!
:wave2:

Did I tell you I'm so excited for you that you have your dates? I am! :cool1:

That is my very favorite time of year to go. If we could go then, I would for sure.

It's JMHO, but I've always love MVMCP. We went almost every year when we lived in Florida. We would have done MNSSHP if we could have afforded it. I just love the atmosphere. It really gets you in the Christmas mood.

As far as food, we had the free dining plan this time (which of course you know) and you'll see that I'm just kind of over the sit down eating. I LOVE LOVE  to eat out, and I was really looking forward to it, but I was also really disappointed. The service was pretty not-great. I got tired of eating desert all the time. Christian got BORED with the menu choices. I'm just OVER it. So much so that we're planning to do the QSDP in June. Or none at all. I REALLY want to do Quick Service so the food can be paid for beforehand, but we're going to be in other parts of Orlando enough, that it might be a pain. You might want to think about that too. How much will you use the dining plan when you're at IOA and Sea World? The other thing that was a pain is having to have everything planned. I know we all LOVE planning on here, but a lot of our plans changed and I had 3 or 4 ADRs that we just plain didn't do (I'm giving away secrets here ;)). I don't want to have to be that planned next time. Especially because we are NOT getting Park Hoppers next time either.

Anyway, just my two cents. If I ever decide to start my TR you'll see all of this in much more depth. :rotfl:

Hello Heather!
welcome back! I have read that about the DDP being hard to sitdown and getting there;
that is why I'm thinkging the regular DDP (it is a CS credit, a TS credit, and a snack credit per day). So, I am planning 3 breakfast and only 2 sitdown dinners; that way I figure for the most part we are eating dinner wherever we are. As for US; we love their dining plan (nothing fancy but very affordable! :yay: $19.99 for all you care to eat per day and you have three CS resturants per park to choose from). I do not plan to stay on Disney grounds for the US/IOA/SW portion of the trip. So, that should not be a problem.

I can't wait to read your TR to see what resturants ya'll did like; as I have one more to pick! We did OOP last trip; I like that idea best :confused3 but I do understand why most people like the convience. If I did CS/QS again I would do OOP--I can do it cheaper; but, when I figured our 3 breakfast and 2 dinners it came really close to the DP price. But, again I find the QS plan is over priced! We did $25 a day per person in May and none of us (except Dayne) spent it all!

:wave2: Looking forward to your TR when you get a chance popcorn:

Good Morning, Connie! Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was okay.

Looks like the planning is in full force! I've never done the dining plan, so I can't comment on that. As far as character breakfasts go, I do know they can eat up a lot of your park time, so I'd either make my ressie's as early in the day as they will allow or be prepared for it to take a long time. My DH about busted a gut when we went to Crystal palace at nine and didn't get out until nearly lunch time. Yep. It took that long for all the characters to make it around to us, plus the wait to get in, even though we had made reservations. Just my two cents.

Have a great day! Rainy, chilly day here. A good day to be at home, snuggling with Mitchell, and I started to call in sick, even though neither of us were sick, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. :confused3 Everyone else does it, I know that for a fact, but I'm too chicken!

Good morning Connie. Yes, I'm back. Seems like it has been weeks since I've been on the dis. I loved your videos. I thought they were amazing. I love Mickey dancing. I remember many years ago that he did that all the time. Then that fast forward at the park just kinda puts it all in perspective.

Thank you for watching Austin's video. I wish it had come out better but that gym was so packed Don couldn't get much closer. Their game was hard to take. That loss in the last 8 seconds stunk. But they all got over it well. Aust went to the dance and said it was actually fun. The coaches make better chaperones than the fuddy duddy teachers. We had a blast at the casino.

One massive lazy day yesterday. I wasn't even on the computer 15 minutes. We are all stil really tired.

GIve my Prince Charming a big hug and kiss from Miss Ginny. Do you have the princess today?

It is on the cool side and we are supposed to get at least 5 inches of rain this week. Bummer.

Have a super day.

Ginny

Hey, Ginny! Glad you had such a good time at the game - sorry they lost. That stinks, and it was so close too. I imagine it was hard for them to get their hopes up and then be let down so close to the end. At least they had the dance to lift their spirits after it was over. I'm glad the coaches were good chaperones and not so fuddy duddy!

Also glad you had a good time at the casinos! What fun! ANd you won, too. Even better! :cool1:

Morning Connie,

I understand how you would get tired of having to sit down to eat. That's why we book our table service meals for dinner time. By the time dinner rolls around, we are ready to sit down to a nice quiet meal. We have most of our park touring done and we don't feel like we have to rush to get out and see more of the park.

Just my two cents.

Lisa

Good morning!
Ginny~ I'm so happy Austin had a great time at the dance (that means alot for a Sr year!) and I'm happy ya'll had a great time at the casino.
We went to the Silver Slipper in Bay St. Louis Sat nite with some friends! The crabs were so good! and being out with adults and NO children was so nice. I'm sure I talked her ear off like Chloe does to us! :lmao: Mom and Dad left yesterday morning for Las Vegas--it is cooler there than it is here! It rained all day yesterday, again today and tomorrow than suppose to be dry Wed/Thur and start again for the weekend! I hope not I have Chloe all week except Fri/Sat/Sun -- we are suppose to be going to Crusin' the Coast! (I had Chloe Thur/Fri/Sat/Sun/Today/Tue/Thur!!!)

Mel~ I know how it feels to want to call in knowing that other people do it. I once worked with a girl who called in for a week! claimed to be having severe female problems the head doctor told the ofc mgr to send her flowers and everything! She called to say thank you and tells me on the phone that she has been having a great week by the pool with the kids and enjoying the sun ( here I was doing her job and mine and she tells ME this :headache:--she was not eligble for vacay time yet!) If my kids were sick I would feel so bad leaving them and I went to work sick most of the time unless I was running fever!

As for the breakfast I hope since it is usually a slow week that we are going we can get the ressie before the parks open! That is the hope I'm going for on that one! Although we wasted so much time in lines to get character pixs in May that at least you would be inside and munching while waiting  As I mentioned to Ginny it is rainy here but humid and hot!

Pam~ We enjoyed Handy Manny last night and again this morning! we can't wait for the new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Choo Choo coming out on Oct 25 prime time special!!! Peter Pan wants that train!!! I'm going to have to look into it I think he is too old for it but I'll check! He loves trains!! My mexican night was a disaster in my mind BUT the rest of the family enjoyed it!! I did beef and chicken chimmichangas. Well I normally fry them in a pan and decided to try a deep fryer (and I had gotten so good in the pan that I no longer tack them with toothpicks-- well in the fryer they opened up and the meat all fell out! So, I had to turn the cabinet upside down to find the picks (in the back of everything--way in the back)!
Hope yours turned out better than mine!!!

Have a great day! everyone I have to get laundry done and the mess in the kitchen is still there from last night! I was so upset and Peter Pan is sick--he had a major meltdown during the Incredibles, you woul have thought he was in major pain. Just sleepy and not able to breathe!
:wave2: Connie

Good Morning Lisa!

I that has been in the back of my mind; so I was kinda thinking that I would plan the breakfast everyother morning with the two sitdowns in between days so alternate and change things up and hopefully help w/any fatigue. ALTHOUGH I am really hoping that we have chosen the super slow week and it will be easy to take on the parks at a very slow pace! Crossing fingers for that!
Hope things are going better for you over there! I read about BIL waking up that is great news!!! :yay:
Have a great day!
:wave2:

I sure didn't get any crab legs. Darn. Maybe you could mail me some?

I would like to call in sick sometimes but I always have that fear that if I do, I'm gonna get really sick and won't have the time needed to take off. I'm that way for making up excuses too. Can't tell something that involves something that might actually happen.

I would love to be Cruizin the Coast with you. How fun. I love to drive the hwy that follows the coast line so I can watch the water.

I'm sorry that our Peter Pan is sick. I hope he gets well fast.

Have a good day

Ginny

Ginny,
I love watching the water, too! Sat night we rode the coast awhile after we left! the full moon was beautiful!!! this weekend is all about the cars the road is so packed that you move about 5 mph! I get so tired of it really fast but that is what he likes to do and gets me and Peter Pan out! I just hope he gives me enough time to hit the outlets! :yay: :lmao:

I hope you have a pretty weekend for it. I would like to hit the Coach store. This Saturday is the day Sheri and I get to go see Mama Mia. We are excited about that one.

I love to watch the full moon on the water. One cruise we were on we were in South America and had a total lunar eclipse. That was wonderful.

So, I finally get the almighty pin code...:yay: right...wrong!!!
it was sent in Joe's name for 4/11/10-6/03/10! trying very hard to talk Danny into it he ask are they letting us go for free!!!! need to figure out what we would be saving maybe we can go over Dayne's spring break...here would be another problem...do we have to bring Joe and Gwendolyn to use it...do you think the CM will give me credit for what should have been mine anyway :lmao:

oh well probably can't talk Danny into it anyway...more on this new development later!!!!

That is exactly what would happen to me. And it would never be the dates I could actually go.
