I have wanted to try Vero ever since we joined in Jan. 08 so now WE ARE. We have always flown to Disney (except for one trip in 2002) so we have never really left the property. Trying Vero meant....renting a van and so on and so forth. NOW....... We are going to be there July 21st for 4 nights. I am so excited to try Vero. I want to hear all about it...the good the bad and the ugly. :thumbsup2 We are booked in two garden inn rooms. We were probably lucky to get those.

Now I have to PLAN PLAN PLAN. We decided on a whim (well Thursday) to DRVE TO DISNEY this summer.....:scared1: WE ALWAYS FLY. This all came to fruition because I was surfing the net on Thursday and came across the Summer Nightastic stuff...... and found out the Main Street ELECTRICAL PARADE was coming back for the summer LOVED THAT PARADE :cloud9:....THAT GOT THE WHEELS TURNING. Well as soon as I saw the summer stuff..... I texted college daughter ...she immediately called and WE KNEW WE HAD TO GO. :cool1: SO then she texted dh/dad at work....and HE CAVED TOO. :rotfl2:

Then....high school son...WANTED TO GO IF WE COULD STILL DO SOME BEACH ACTION AND DRIVE instead of flying..... ROAD TRIP is what he said. I was shocked he was on board. :scared1: He was the one saying "I am done with Disney for a while". So since Thursday....we have discussed going to Universal and staying at a Universal Resort, keeping HHI, but cutting days, driving to Tampa for Busch Gardens and then today....VERO VERO VERO...popped into my head. So.....we booked that and I cancelled HHI :scared1::scared1::scared1: I KNOW!!!! However someone will be very happy their waitlist came through for a 2 bedroom. ;) and tomorrow I will book our other days preceeding Vero ...which means staying at SSR or OKW...but that is fine. It is DVC and that is all that matters.

SO that is my story......and NOW I NEED VERO INFORMATION. :goodvibes

Try this i hope it works. We have been twice 2-3 nights. We never left the pool during the day. And would wonder out at night for places to have dinner. Its a great place to relax.Going again the 2nd of May.Then we head over to WDW. Oh and its nothing like Ocean City,Md.

The Vero Beach thread has the info that you need. We went for 3 nights last year and loved it so this year we are doing 6 nights. We'll be there from 7/12-7/18. :goodvibes

Well that is good. WE DON'T LIKE OC at all. We have been once in the summer, once over Easter and once in Dec. Didn't like it at all.

We have stayed at Vero Beach a few times. If you have not already found out, WDW is about a 1.5-2 hour drive from VB.
We have stayed for beach fun and loved it. I have also went on a "guy" weekend fishing trip and stayed at VB. If your family likes to fish VB is a good place to find charters cheaper than the bigger cities on the Atlantic.

We have been to VB twice. Once in Sept. and once in March. We loved both of our tips and I am hoping we can go back soon. On our Sept. trip we were lucky enough to see baby turtles walking to water. We walked on the beach in the a.m. and p.m. and spent our days at the pool. If you have a chance to eat at the Lemon Tree in downtown Vero, you should. The food and service is excellent! Have a great time!

Thanks I am sure we will go into Vero for dinners. I will make a note of this place. :goodvibes

Vero is a much different experience than the parks’ DVC resorts. The main focus is to relax. Enjoy the pool and the ocean. Lay back and read a book or listen to music. I am not sure if the turtles are laying eggs the time you are going but they have excursions when they do. Something I have yet to do but want to. There are a lot of activities but they are mostly geared to younger kids. There is also a campfire with smores and storytelling. We love going there if just to chill. The CM’s are great. Have fun.

That is the exact time we are going. We will be at WDW on the 17th - 20th and then drive to Vero and spend the 20-26. I have never been but it looks great.

I changed out dates today ..arriving on the 22nd now departing on Monday the 26th but we are trying to get Monday and then we would change our arrival to the 23rd. I lucked out today and was able to get that Sunday. Yesterday it was not available and that is why we were arriving on Wednesday the 21st. We are only going to be there 4 nights...I just needed to get the RIGHT 4 nights. :rotfl:

VB...nothing beats sitting in the Green Cabin sipping on your favorite grown up drink while the kids sip their kiddie cocktails...combine that with some dinner or spinach dip---heavenly!

Our family likes VB resort ALOT , but yet when there we don't do alot and that's not because there isn't things to do ( there's a good number of things to do ) but because we enjoy the resort so much we just like to kick back and relax at the pool and beach & do some activities the cm's plan. We'd like to, but so far haven't done yet, kayaks and Piper Aircraft tour ( if I remember correctly an advance reservation is needed for this tour ). I'd say don't over-schedule activities while there but leave good amount of time for relaxation & spur of the moment decisions :-) I think you and your family are gonna have a great time.

Thanks!!! Yeah I think we will be CHILLIN too. My hubby is really looking forward to Vero. We did two beach trips a few years ago to the GULF and our kids loved it. They love Disney but they also love NOT HAVING TO GET UP EARLY. :rotfl2: SO these types of trips are big hits with them too.
