We are leaving in 10 days and dd has no clue!

I have been planning this trip and even secretly packing some. We are going for dds 9th birthday and she has no clue. We will get up on Sunday and act as though we are going to church. We will then head to airport. I do have a large Minnie I will put in the backseat in a seat belt. Does anyone have any other ideas of how I can make it more shocking than I already know it will be. I am so excited.

Congratulations on being able to keep the surprise!!! I'm sure she'll be so excited!

You may want to do a little "goody bag". For our family vacations, I always make up three different bags (I have 3 girls); I try to buy the party bags with their favorite character - or sometimes I just get a different color bag.
I may include a pack of gum, a few of their favorite candies, some Disney dollars, a disposable camera, glow necklaces, and any other inexpensive thing I find. Try the dollar store - they usually have a lot of things there! Oh, one other thing my girls love to get - the color book with the one marker that is clear but when you color on the page it changes color (not sure if I described that very well???) Even my older girls (25 & 21) still look for their goody bag!

Thanks for sharing. I am going to pack her a bag for the plane and then we have a basket waiting when we get there for her. I found the perfect thing at Pennys today. It is a build a bear that I can record a message in, I think we will record the message and give her the bear on the way to the airport. They had bears and monkeys for 15 and they are by build a bear and unclude a build a bear coupon on the tag.

OOO, I am exicted for you and your secret Goody bags are the best I take women every year to the Women of Faith conference and I always do a bag for each room.....actually, I give a good bag to anyone that travels with me if they have never been with me on an excursion... Your daughter will flip won't she??? I hope my step granddaughter will do the same when she finds out that I am taking her again in August enjoy

We just took DD for her 11th B-day to Disneys Vero Beach resort. She didn't know till we were at the airport that we were going. Then she still had to quess where the trip was going. She loved it. She had a great time with Mom & Dad with little Sister & brother staying home with Grandma & PoPs.
This was a givt for my wife ,DD & me as we all have Oct B-days. I had Jet Blue credit that had to be used We are DVC so trip just coast me for rental car & food. Hope he love it like my DD did.


PS did you tell the resort it her B-day my DD got a card from goffy & Max with 2 pinns for traiding.

Just make sure you are careful that the airport does not give it away. We left for a surprise a few years ago and our then 7yr old DD heard the sky cap say 5 to Orlando and she knew right away where we were going.

We leave on Wednesday for our surprise trip...my DS6 & DS8 think we are going to Philadephia on a business trip with DH! They have picked the hotel & looked at stuff we can visit on line! They think we are planning to visit Disney in 2009!

I am hoping to convince them that Orlando airport is in Philly...after all here in Montreal our airport is called Dorval!

I don't want them to know where we're going until we get the DME.,..fingers crossed!

I am feeling a bit disorganised about the trip, my Grandad passed away in the UK so I was gone for 9 days, and now I'm working extra to make up for the time i was gone (own business). I just hope I can pull it all together on Monday while they're in school, as I work all day Tuesday & we're off to Burlington for a night in the hotel before we fly - straight after work! Help!

we had Patdisigns make up a pic for us that said Surprise, we are going to Disney right now!!! it was SO cool. We picked the kids up from school. and had our 2 yr old holding the sign. It was way fun. Have a great trip.!!!!!!!
