Well we are home after 14 nights - I am not doing a trippie as once back to work just will not have time however here are our highs and lows:

Highs
  • MK 40th Anniversary celebrations - complete buzz in the park of the morning and the best fireworks I have ever seen at night
  • MNSHHP - very busy but still had a great time with lots of candy and DD had great interaction with Chip at the dance party
  • Weather - second week was perfect
  • 2 great owners locker meets
  • Chloe getting on all the 40" rides with room to spare and loving them all (including ToT!)- she is only 3 1/4 yr old but a complete daredevil!
  • My personal high was para-sailing on Bay Lake - was completely buzzing for the rest of the day and can't wait to do it again

Lows
  • Family before not checking out on time (in fact a day late and after checkout time!) meaning when we moved to BLT we had a temporary room for one night which was less than ideal and very stressful as we didn't our room until 4.30pm the day after we were due to check in. Not keen on moving once let alone twice. Not changing resorts again for a while.
  • Rain on our last day
  • Unexpected crowd levels for the time of year - and it seemed to catch Disney off guard too.

Now on a mission to see if I can work a quick trip in before our next planned trip in June ;)

Shame about the mess-up with the room :sad2: Did they give you any explanation - surely somebody can't just stay an extra night without having booked it (we are talking DVC members I take it) :confused3 I hope MS are able to offer you some compensation (a refund of one night's points perhaps?)

Sounds like you had a great trip though - your DD sounds like a daredevil. Daniel absolutely hated TOT although he has agreed to try it again this trip to see if it's any better now he's 8

Hope some of those unexpected crowds have left by the time we get there - I am hoping it was because of the 40th Birthday and they will all have gone home again now :rotfl:

welcome home
shame about the room mix up

Welcome Home

I am thrilled to read someone actually saying that they loved the 40th Anniversary celebrations yay that you got to be there for those

Woo-hoo on DD's height and ToT OMG I am loving her work such a brave one for sure and so is her mummy ..... Parasailing?!! Are you completely mad? LOL seriously though good for you, I couldn't do it but pleased you loved it!

Crowds are looking heavier this year, right? I thought we're all spiralling into another downturn.... our first week is going to be Jersey Week and it's looking busy, busy!

Eeek on your double move at BLT - I too hope you got some compensation for that.

Finally ... I thought you may be pushing it waiting until June next year LMAO I wait to hear what you get booked up :goodvibes

OH wait one last thing to say....... 26 days for us :littleangel:

Welcome home and great to see more highs than lows :goodvibes

Isn't it great when the kids are such adrenilin junkies. It kind of pushes us to more ourselves so we ultimately get more out of it too.

When we finally got our allocated room (we had std view which was part of the problem and the fact they were 100% booked for 4 nights) we were accompanied up by a manager and he was telling us it was a Brazilian family in the room! We were given $100 compensation each day by the resort and they were great trying to work with us as we understood it wasn't their fault.

Email is on its way today to MS as well as the room not being available as when we started examining the room we had no silverware except steak knifes, 1 spoon & 3 salad forks  Also missing was a couple of glasses, bowls, mugs etc. The living room curtain was broken and the shower in the master bath was missing the seal to keep it closed. It took 5 days for the silverware to be replaced despite reporting it the day we moved in. The curtain was done the same day I reported but the shower still was fixed by the time we left 9 days later :scared1:

Crowds were lower Wednesday/Thursday then Friday seemed manic again in MK with waits back up to the hour for all headliners :scared1:

Only another week for you Joh - hopefully the weather will improve again and they were in for a very wet weekend according to the forecast before we left!

Parasailing really was amazing - not something I normally do but was so pleased I did it. The guys on the boat were great they didn't give me time to think about it and they were so matter of fact. The views were stunning although I couldn't look directly down :scared1:

Our whole stay crowds were heavier than we have experienced for that time of year and talking to a CM friend it does seem in generally visitors are up.

Not long now - food and wine was fun but go hungry!

sounds like a wonderful trip - other than the let down at BLT... :sad2:

i am amazed about your daughter!!!! there was no ToT when my daughter was that age. There wasn't even Splash Mountain yet (DD was 8 years old when Splash opened and 10 years old when ToT opened).
But she did manage Space Mountain when she was 6 years old and loved it.

on the other hand, DS, who was 6 when Splash opened, went on it once and then refused to go again for a few years.
but eventually, he did turn into a daredevil - it took a few years though (like until he was in his mid teens :) )

I loved parasailing on Bay Lake as well.

Shame about the BLT mix up, moving rooms does take up a lot of time.

BLT looks just amazing in the pics -- sorry it had problems for your stay.
