Hello. I started a mini report to include with my questions, but hit the wrong key and poof all my work was gone. Guess I should write in word first and then cut and paste??
Anyhow, now I am going with the short version. We arrived Sunday afternoon, and went to the parks Monday morning for EE. Everything went as planned and we were the first in line at gate number 7. Plans changed quickly, as I had originally planned on FL this morning, but little one insisted on Nemo first. So, since this is his 5th b-day trip, I let him influence the plan a bit. So, off to Nemo we went at a fast walk. Oldest son started complaining of stomache cramps and eventually had to step aside with Dad. Little one and I kept going and got into the line. Before we had gotten far, Dad and older brother showed up and were able to join us. We were on the 2nd or 3rd sub. Everyone thought it was cool. Husband and little one loved it. Sceptical 11 year old had to keep pointing out that we really weren't under water and you could see strings if you looked and stuff like that, but at the same time exclaiming over the giant clams and telling me to take pictures. So I think he also liked the ride in his 11 year old, know it all, sort of way.
Anyhow, we hit space mountain, which was a first for little one. He loved it, but did not want to go on it again right away. Dad and big one went again, inspite of continued stomache pains. I took little one on Buzz Lightyear, and then regrouped. Dad took little one off to rockets, and I took big one to buy rolaids. They only cost $1.08. I joked with the CM that they had to be the least expensive item in Disneyland, except of course for the squished penny things.
We met up with Dad and headed off to Frontier land where Thunder mountain was not up an running yet. We then headed over to New Orleans Square and walked onto Pirates, then over to Splash Mountain and Winnie the Pooh. Then Indiana Jones and Jungle Cruise two times.
By then it is only 10, and my oldest is just melting. Wants some real food, as he thinks this will make his stomache feel better. I can't find any real food. Finally, he wants to go back to the hotel, so Dad takes him and they stop and get lunch and do a few rides, then son is done in and says he just wants to go back to the hotel, which they did at 1:00.
Meanwhile, little one and I did our own plan, including lunch at BB, and all details will be in my real trip report.
But, here is the dilemna. My oldest is sick. Fever, headache, stomache pain. I am keeping him comfortable, but he never did go back to the park. I don't know how long he will be down. We took the little one back out tonight for a couple of hours, but have put our day at the parks for tomorrow on hold. We had originally scheduled a day of rest on Thursday, so we can make that up then.
My concern is that we will all get sick. ( I actually feel feverish right now, but am refusing to believe it!), and/or my oldest won't get well enough to go to the parks.
What can I do to mitigate the damage? Will Disney do anything at all about our tickets? (worse case, I am thinking to convert to AP's and come back when we can, but how can I drag my sick family across the park to get that done?)
We are scheduled to move to the CCI on Wednesday. I may be able to get them to cancel our reservation and not charge us if I tell them we are all sick?? But then we have to drive back home again, 18 hours, with out any magic. I certainly can't go spend Christimas with my gram, who is 84 with my sick family, as she does not need to get sick.
Any suggestions?
