We just got back yesterday. Yes it was HOT and I live in the desert. We did ok by going early in the morning, taking a break from about 1-3 or 1-4 in the ac in our hotel and then going back for night. By late afternoon the parks seem a lot more shaded and less hit by the direct sunlight. Although as we were checking out at the GC, the bellman asked where we were from and then asked if I enjoyed the cooler temperatures in California. I looked at him like he had two heads, he must have realized how silly his question was as then he started laughing.

We just arrived. I think we'll have to carefully plan out tomorrow, Tuesday 9/16, as it's supposed to get very hot again.

Today we walked around the park at La Brea Tar Pits for a short time and it was unbearable.

We have lunch reservations at BB at 2 pm sp that should keep us cool awhile. I think I will be looking for sun hats, misters, and possibly even an umbrella/parasol to help keep us cool.

Does anyone know if Haunted Mansion Holiday is open during MM? I feel like it wasn't before, but thought I should check and make sure.

I've never known New Orleans Square as being one of the parks open for MM or EMH. So I will say no.
That I also recall, it is Fantasyland and Tomorrowland that is available.

I got back from my trip tonight (just after midnight). HMH is not open during MM. Gisele is right--it is just FL and Tomorrowland. If you catch it earlier in the day, it is a walk on. But, I noticed even today (Monday) the crowds build up and it can be a hot wait.

I think that taking a mid-day break was the key to us enjoying the park. I jumped in the pool and stayed in my wet bathing suit for a few hours and it really cooled me down. Sounds like you have some good cooling down ideas!! I think the temps are manageable if you stay super hydrated, and visit places with a/c like Animation Building, Lincoln, Aladdin, Tiki room, or your pool in mid afternoon.
