We have 3 small kids, 2 year old twins and a 4 year old...Right now, I have reservations on hold for both GC and DLH, what hotel do you think is best for kids?

Thanks so much in advance for your help...

I would say GC just for the convience (sp?) The closest to the parks the better::yes::

Out of the two I've only stayed at DLH, but I went at looked at a room at GCH in Aug.

As beautiful as it is, I prefer DLH because the rooms are so much larger. Don't get me wrong GCH is a absolutely gorgeous hotel. But my personal preference is for DLH, I prefer a larger room.

I like the Sierra Tower(closet to the monorail)with a DTD view.
My boys(almost 6 & 10)LOVE LOVE LOVE the DLH. They love the pool(4 feet deep everywhere)they love the pixie dust on the wall border and they are Goofy's Kitchen freaks, so it works good for us.

I would love to try GCH sometime though! It's beautiful.

Thanks so much! I have DLH on hold and I requested the Sierra tower and DTD view, I really appreciate your help...I got a rate of $139 per night, so I am happy about that, we are getting annual passes as well...I did find out that with an annual passes rates at the end of January are going to be $99 at the DLH...

I agree with dsnylndmom. We have stayed at all three DL hotels and while each one has it perks, the DLH says "Magic"!! The GC is closer but, while I agree that it is beautiful, I felt like I was in Yosemite - not Disneyland. When I stay at DLH, I feel like I am at the park!! And I have also stayed in all three towers and strongly prefer the Sierra Tower! With three kids, I would ask for the 2 Queen/Day bed room - it has about 50 sq ft more than just the standard 2 Queen room.

The feeling you get when you pull up in front of the DLH and see the topiaries of Mickey & Minnie sets the tone for the whole trip!! When we were there a few months ago, they had a Mini Cooper Car with HUGE Mouse Ears in front of the hotel! It was great!

Don't forget to make ressies for Goofy's Kitchen - the kids will love it!

we are passholders and stayed at the DLH. The room was huge, the beds comfy and they priovided a free rollaway for my daughter, our view was of downtown disney and it was fun to point out our room as we walked in DTD. We stayed at the GCH because so many people said it was wonderful. The room was small, the beds not as comfortable and the view was of other rooms, for the price just not worth it. We had to request another room because the first one has mosquitos all over the ceiling and it freaked my kids out (and me). I want to stay at the paradise pier in oct or nov just so I can compare them. The pool slide looks fun but my kids think the DLH pool is much better although the GCH snackbar, whitewater snacks is fantastic. They also give disounts to all passholders, at least as of our last visit.

We have also stayed at all three hotels. I would definitely pick DH if you have little ones. The Disney magic is so alive there. I think the Grand is the nicest of the three, but just not as "special". Does that make sense? Also, the larger sized room will be a big benefit with a family of 5. I am sure it is less expensive as well which leaves more $$ for food and souveniers! And BTW, PP is a nice hotel as well, we are staying there again over Halloween.

Have a great time whatever you choose:)
