We are concierge....my other family is not...

Thank you for the helpful responses. This gives me hope that we can have an excursion together.
As far as the other concierge perks, concierge will be the judge of what is or isn't allowed. Their decisions will not effect anyone else, therefore it is no else's business.

Concierge will have the final say and it is definitely worth asking. Our family has been invited to the concierge lounge at hotels and I don't see this as any different.

But they will affect me if I see someone getting free Concierge perks that I paid for!!

Nothing I can personally do about it of course except bring it to the attention to DCL--and probably ask for a partial refund of the premium $$ I paid for concierge!!!

This reminds a lot of the time I flew from Jacksonville to Detroit on a relocation flight. There were 7 passengers total and first class had 12 seats total. The Captain gave permission for the stewards to allow all the passengers to sit in 1st class because, why not? The sole person who had a first class ticket got in a huff and objected, and asked if we were going to be charge more. We all sat in the back, and the captain had the stewards give us all the first class perks (except the seat) anyway.

All things considered, I do Disney cruises as a Concierge room (doing my second one in 11 days) and as long as it doesn't negatively impact my ability to utilize the concierge amenities, I could care less if they allow a few extended family members into the concierge lounge.

This is not directed at anyone in particular, but it may be noted that as DCL has increasingly been "allowing" extended family and even "linked" friends to partake of Concierge amenities, the price of their Concierge cabins and suites continues to climb at a ridiculous rate. Whether there is a connection, we shall never know, as DCL would certainly never admit it if so.

if that is the case, and it could be, then how are we going to explain the price increases for a regular cabin as they have gone up to a ridiculous rate as well? i'm really not convinced one has to do with the other but who knows.

i'm not saying your wrong at all but….i have never sailed concierge, i feel for us its a waste of money, however i'm curious how anyone would know someone is in the concierge lounge who does not 'belong'. is there a special wrist band, a secret hand shake, an appointed head nod? lol. seriously, how would one know? how could it possible effect you or anyone for that matter? if i were to spend that much on concierge i can tell you i would not spend a minute of my time wondering if 'that person' belonged.

Actually it does effect everyone else who paid to sail concierge. The lounge will be more packed, the wait for the character meet and greet will be longer, etc.

So I go to a restaurant and order steak--and my family members order hamburgers--but what the heck--they are my extended family members--steak at the hamburger price for them too!!!
in our restaurants we are allowed to share our steak. i don't understand.

After a day or so you recognize most of the concierge families in the lounge--you can't even get in w/o the Concierge KTTW card.

good point. this is something i can understand. it gives a good perspective.
thanks.

No, of course we have no way of knowing for certain. I have sailed Cat. T many times on DCL, but more often I go with a regular verandah cabin. The Cat. T prices have skyrocketed to unrealistic heights, imho. Regular cabins, just unreasonable, not outrageously unrealistic. ;)

Not share--a full steak dinner in place of the hamburger!! Just because they are my extended family.

And who cares about the other patrons?? Paying for steak and then seeing others who didn't pay get steak anyway--just because they are extended family members!!

it only takes one kttw card correct? so 10 people could walk in together? also, if you see the second family with the first family then you would recognize them as concierge when they really are not.
i do think that DCLDVC1 has given a good response and it explains why this is not a good thing really well. as i said, i don't disagree with you, i just didn't see what could possibly be the issue. i see some issues now. :thumbsup2

And they will likely be drinking the special coffee, eating the lounge food, using the sundeck--etc etc--AND NOT HAVING PAID FOR IT!!!!

Wrong in all respects--

The Concierge lounge on the Dream and Fantasy is not all that big. Add one or two "not supposed to be there" bodies, and odds are they'd be noticed by other guests - not to mention them not having a gold KTTW. In the past, I have seen people try to bring in their friend or relative, and the Concierge team, who knows EVERY Concierge guest after that first day, directs them to the exit. But it seems there are some Concierge hosts who are making exceptions, and that's just WRONG. If you did not pay for it, you should not be entitled to it. That Concierge Lounge "space" and sun deck are built into the cost of a Concierge booking - for Concierge guests ONLY.
