Seems like a long time ago since we left to go to Ashford, but in reality it was less than a week ago. We had an amazing time, 2 Disneyland Paris addicts become 3!

Trip report and photos to come, but for now a few highs and lows:

Highs:

Cars Quatre Roues Rallye - by far Lucas's favourite ride. Cars are his favourite thing in the world so this was always going to appeal to him. At just 2 years old we did wonder if it would be too fast and furious, but he giggled and shouted all the way round, and round and round! Denise only managed 2 goes but Lucas managed to go on 9 times, in just 2 days!

Playhouse Disney Live - so nice to have something he recognises and he loved seeing the characters and all the interactivity, especially the bubbles and leaves falling from the ceiling.

Weather - 1 hour of rain on Thursday aside we had wall to wall sunshine and hot temperatures - lovely.

The Fort - we finally located it and this was another favourite for Lucas. Not a huge amount to do but when you are 2 running around the top of the Fort is enough!

Food - twice at Annettes, Billy Bobs, Casey's, Bella Notte and New York Style Sandwiches - fantastic food throughout.

Disney Showtime Spectacular and Disney All Star Express - both lots of fun and a great way to see lots of characters. Lucas especially liked the 'Choo Choo Train'

Cast Members - never encountered a bad one, all with so much Disney spirit and so incredibly nice to Lucas.

Lows:

Illness - Lucas was poorly on Monday and until about 3pm Tuesday which left him not wanting to do much of anything. That was soon forgotten with so many good times.

Merchandise - suppose that's a blessing in disguise but it all seems very generic these days and every shop sells the same. A bit of imagination wouldn't go a miss.

Frankie and Bennys - not DLP but the meal on Sunday night in Ashford was atrocious. Terrible service and food to match - think it's what made Lucas ill as it give me a bad stomach too. Will avoid this chain like the plague now.

Exchange rate - not a lot you can do there but as our first trip since 2007, well, OUCH!

Could write so much more but I have to go and sort bits out wait for a British Gas engineer - we were welcomed home by a broken boiler! I'll return with photos and details when I get a chance. Our 10th trip was our best yet, seeing DLP through the eyes of a child is truly magical - can't wait to return.

yaaaaaaaaaaay steve - it is magical with a child isnt it??
so glad lucas had a fun time (apart from illness) and cant wait to hear more and see pics!!!!!!!
welcome back!!

Aw fabulous - you're right, its a totally different experience seeing Disney through the eyes of your child :cloud9:.

this has got me really excited for our trip on Wednesday! nice to see u had a nice time!

Glad to see you all had a good trip, really looking forward to Playhouse Disney as we watch it everyday and did not have the Disney channel last time we went.

:thumbsup2 Was there ever any chance Lucas would not become the third Disney addict in your family ?

Glad you all enjoyed it .My first visit to DLRP with Jessica was so special .Seeing it through the eyes of your child is SO magical .;)

Great write-up Steve! :thumbsup2
Out of all the technologically advanced rides at DLRP, for some reason my missus still gets amazed by the way that the Cars ride works without the vehicles crashing in to each other! :rotfl:
Good to hear a really positive time can still be had :goodvibes

Hurrah you're back and you had a good time :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes Isn't the fort great? My kids loved it when they were younger, and although theres not a lot to do it really seems to capture their imagination :thumbsup2.
Glad the weather was good, my niece her husband and their little girl were there the same time as you . Oooooh I can't wait now....DLRP really is even better with a little one.......and ours always seemed to be ill at some point too :confused3:rotfl: .

Welcome back
Kaye

Welcome back, shame Lucas was ill for part of the trip

Welcome home and glad that Lucas is now an addict as well. Looking forward to seeing some pics and reading your TR

Glad you had a good time! we got back this morning(after a VERY long trip home..)

We also stayed at a Travelodge (Canterbury as we took the ferry across) before going to Cheyenne!

I looked out for you but don't think I saw you(I didn't want to ask random strangers if they were DLPsteve!

I'll post a bit about our trip soon too.

:cool1:

welcome back
am going to have a look at the TR in a minute!
I stayed at SF my 1st trip and quite liked it. The beds are so so comfortable and the cheyenne isnt far is you get 'home' sick!!! the shop seemed cheaper and the esso is so close for the essentials. i will say its a bit gloomy and needs a lick of paint but its quite good value for money.

our next trip will be our first stay in the cheyenne, any tips?

No tips really - just enjoy it! The walk from the hotel to Disney Village is really nice and takes you along the Rio Grande River and past Lake Disney - lots of ducks to see, and feed, as some people do - we keep forgetting to take a roll from breakfast for them.
