(WE ARE BACK! TR LINK!) The-BFF-Birthday-bash PTR turned ANNIVERSARY trip

Ok, so I'm in a bit of a funk this morning b/c not only is my trip report over, but I'm having some of my fibromyalgia pain come back.

For those of you that don't know, I was in some serious pain this fall and I am nearly certain it's a Vitamin D deficiency. I take LOTS of Vitamin D, and it did get better...and totally go away in sunny Florida too! but it's creeping back, I suspect b/c I am not getting enough actual sun exposure here. I have been going outside as often as I can, but my Plantar Fasciitis (running injury) is bothering me enough that I haven't wanted to go out and sit there when what I really want to do is MOVE outside, not just sit! OMG, I'm so bad about rambling!

ANYWHO...the point of this was to ask for everyone to cheer me up a bit today, so, tell me one of your favorite Disney memories, feel free to add pictures, you know I would! ;)

Those of you that just read my TR probably already know my favorite memory from our recent trip, it was the girls running in the fountain at DTD...now tell me yours! (oh, I have to add a picture here though, it just wouldn't be right not to! ;)

Ack! I'm so sorry your pain is coming back. :sad2: What's the weather supposed to be Wednesday? I don't have plans so maybe we could sit in the sun together- that would be better than sitting out there alone! (Plus I'm not coming to playgroup because it's Jace's birthday so I need an excuse to see you this week anyway.)

Hmmm... as for my favorite Disney memory, you already know mine (for those that don't and are interested you can read about it here). So, I'll have to come up with another favorite- shouldn't be too hard. :thumbsup2

Of COURSE it's another thing that involves one of my kids! Jace was over the moon about JTA and battling with Darth Vader. He still has the certificate, rolled into a scroll, on his bedside table. He even kept it there when we moved him to his new room so it's not just something he laid there and forgot about; it's something really special to him. (BTW, that new room is in the basement folks- he used to be scared of it and now he lives down there- my baby is growing up! :guilty: Okay, now I'm the one who's rambling.)

How cool that he keeps it by his bed! That's seriously special, boys don't always cherish stuff like that, especially when they hit those teen years! :lovestruc

I'm not sure about Wednesday, we have lots of school work and I have mid-day petsitting as well. The weather looks fantastic for Thursday, so I'm bummed you aren't coming!

BRILLIANT!!!!!! :lmao:

Oh and did you notice, I already got confused and was responding to people in GREEN?!?!? :lmao: Such a confusing thing to me, color.

When does the movie come out? We need to do it right before that...or we could do it the actual day of the movie if we wanted...but spreading it out to two days works well too! ;)

:rotfl2: I noticed the green but wasn't going to say anything... :rolleyes1

The movie comes out March 16th, which is a Thursday so that won't work (for our readers, that's when our homeschool group meets). I think we need to stretch it out over two days just because driving to and watching the movie will take so long that everything else will be cut short. Figuring out the days is going to be the tricky part- between both our jobs, co-op starting up, kids lessons, etc. it could be difficult! :confused3 Although, I just remembered that Robbie is going to be working Saturdays for a while so we could do it on a Saturday afternoon.

If getting together Wednesday works out we can figure out a date and figure out what we're going to do. :thumbsup2

Yay!!! You are first, it means you get something special...I'm not sure what yet, but I'll let you know if I ever figure it out!

Whoohooo! Let's get this planning ON! I feel totally up to it now that I'm finishing up my TR and "closing that chapter".

I have never been the first before! :goodvibes

Hi Hope! :wave2:

Per your request favorite memory. Ok well it's not my favorite I don't know if i could pick just one, but this is a good one.

We took my nephew (4 at the time) to disney for becoming a big brother. We had a blast just as a side note.
Disney112.jpg
(Logan and his Aunt Emily before the ride)
We were in DHS and he saw TOT and asked to ride it we tried to talk him out of it with out scaring him but he was 100% sure he wanted to ride it so we took him up thinking he wouldn't be tall enought. Get to the part to check that, well shoot he's tall enough (side note Logan is afraide of everything) so go on to get in line (this is mid sept no waits) we sowed him all the spooky stuff and got to the stretching room and it's twilight zone "oh i watch this with Dee Dee (his Grandma)" So he was all into watching the video. Well right as we get seated he doesn't want to do it anymore. Well we are on there we are going to do it now. So we sat him in between me and his aunt Emily. We told the people around us he was probably going to cry and scream just as fair warning. They laughed and said they probably would too. Well we wrapped our arms around him and held on. Up down up down we go. He made it the ride stops he bust out crying everyone is off but us and the other people on the last row and we are trying to get him off the ride. The other people are telling him what a great job he did and everything and he refuses to get off. So we ask him why well you remember that video from the start and the family gets a nice shock his words were " I don't want to go BZZZZZZ" he was scarde he was going to get shocked getting off the ride. So the other people show him they were fine and I picked up and told him we were going to be ok, but i had to care the poor kid off the ride. To this day we still say but I don't want to go BZZZZZZZ he's now 8 and still will not go on it.

I don't have 1 stand out favorite. I do have a few though:

- Seeing this for the first time, at the wonderful age of 23!
first.jpg

- The very first ride I rode, Spaceship Earth, broke down a few minutes into the ride. I was amused because I thought Disney was perfect & never had anything like that happen  It proceeded to break down 3 more times while we were on it. Here's a pic I snapped while we were just sitting there stuck, lol
2nd.jpg

- I was determined to meet Stitch & Mexican Donald on my first trip & I met them both within my first hour of ever being at WDW :rotfl:

- Seeing Jedi Mickey & Princess Minnie during SWW :yay:

Oh my goodness! Poor guy! He was a brave one...you know I still haven't been on ToT after three trips! I'm terrified of drops!!!

Isn't that the greatest sight?!?! I'm glad I'm not the only one that didn't go until I was an adult!

 I can totally see how confused you would be after 3 breakdowns when you didn't think anything like that happened at Disney!

Awww! :lovestruc

Thanks so much for sharing ladies! That perked me up! :goodvibes

I think it's hard to choose a favorite memory...in my current trip report I wrote about how we met a ton of characters on our first day at the Magic Kingdom - I really loved that!

I'm here to follow along with the fun!
Too many favorite Disney moments but the 1st one that popped into mind was when Zachary, age 3, ran up to Ariel and gave her a huge hug and told her, "I love you, Ariel."

First I have to say I really enjoyed reading along to your last TR. My DD loved your balloon pictures! But can you really be friends with someone who DOESN'T love balloon pictures?:confused3

My favorite memory is of when my daughter (at age 3) asked Snow White, during the princess breakfast, why she left her friends behind to go live with he prince. I have a great picture of the stunned look on her face. She did stay in character to answer her - she loved the prince and went back for lots of visits with her friends, FYI. Before she left our table she did ask how old DD was, and was VERY surprised when we said she was 3. little did she know that DD had been holding that question for almost a year at that point. Needless to say, we never knew what kind of questions she would ask....EVER!:rotfl2:

Hi girls!

Favorite memory? Wow. I have been to WDW with my husband, my parents, my daughter, my adult best friend, and with my running team I met here on the DIS - all of the above more than once! So there are so many special memories to chose from. I don't have one. I have had a lot of magic in my life - meltdowns, too, but magic. So much.

This is just one - watching my friend Kat be surprised by another friend - Kat's reaction, tears, joy...that will always stick with me as magical. There was a lot of love there. It was a once in a lifetime surprise, and it was a long time coming...that's what it should be like, right? Love, joy, gifts of time. Magic that people make because they are good to each other. I cry whenever I think about it.

Saying goodbye to my friends at the statue of Walt and Mickey in MK...we all walked away one by one, like it was staged, tears in our eyes that we tried to hide. Cinematic. We all felt it, and we debated where to have our last goodbye and cry this year!

My dad enjoying my daughter in AK. Just a quick snippet of a long day, I can see the stand where he bought her a toy and her smile and his whole attitude relaxed and open.

Oh I could go on, but they are all those little tiny moments, a slice of film that lands on the cutting floor but really, in essence, is your whole life. Those are my favorites. That 30 seconds of laughter outweighs the Fast Pass magic we worked from having our medals on. The unplanned second on a ride or looking at landscaping beats the ADRs I worried over for months. It's a good question and it makes me think about the work I do planning for memories versus letting them happen. :goodvibes

Ugh, I hope your pain goes away soon!!!

Hmm..my favorite Disney memory??? I don't even know how to pick one!

I think I'll go with the slipper dessert that DBF got me on our December 2010 trip. I had been hounding him and bugging him and every other adjective I can use to attempt to get him to get one for me. And then I forgot about it. Completely.

And was entirely and completely surprised when this arrived at the table:

Character interaction is so fantastic at Disney! Meeting so many in one day would have to be special! :goodvibes

Yay! Glad you are here!

And that is SO sweet! Makes me wish we'd gone when the kids were younger. :lovestruc

Oh, you're back! :congratulations: I am so very impressed! Do you have a TR started yet? I can not wait to read all about your trip!

That's a lot of magic you're talking about there! I completely agree that letting the magic happen is when it can be the most special. Some things there is just no planning for... though I like to try. :rotfl:

 That's so sweet! And the slipper dessert is to DIE for.

Well folks, Karen and I won't get to get together today so we can sit in the sun and plan our next Disney day. Our friend the photographer extraordinaire got called in to photograph a special event yesterday at the last minute and is now in full on editing mode. :surfweb: We may not see her for days!

Okay, I'm caught up now...good thing you didnt' get too far ahead of me.

Karen and Hope -- great intros and pictures.

My favorite Disney memory? I have so many.

I think for this I will post a "bittersweet" but favorite memory. In 2008, Mark and I went to Disney for our 25th wedding anniversary. The trip almost got cancelled because my dad passed away the week before the trip. However, my dad insisted that we go no matter what happened to him and celebrate this important milestone.

At that time, I decided to do something each year that we go to Disney that my Dad did whenever he went somewhere with our two sons and us...give a balloon to a child to brighten their day. We have now done this every year since 2008 and it brings back a piece of my dad to me every time I do it.
