Hi Carey!!! Yep, I have lurked on your PTR, but I never posted b/c I thought announcing myself while pointing out that I think we have breakfast at CP the same morning (within minutes of each other!) would be kinda stalker-ish!

Yes, I'm a photographer, I got some fun shots in my TR from Jan, it's in my siggie if you are interested and have time to look at HUNDREDS of shots!

Thanks Amanda! We're pretty happy about it, although Rey is stubborn and wants to be off the pain meds right away, so he went cold turkey and is pretty crabby right now. He's still going to take Aleve, but just didn't like being stuck taking something more than that, he hates having some med control him...but I digress!



We have been SO busy! It's the end of summer busy fun stuff, but I thought it had been too long since I had shared pics, so I thought I would post a few. Totally unrelated to Disney, but still...

Dallas turned 17, here's his bday shot. He also ran 5 miles on his bday, which was the longest he's gone to date, he was pretty pleased (but wants to do more...he's a perfectionist, I'm afraid even a full marathon won't please him!)

Savannah is the one with the long, dark, curly hair and dark skin, if you aren't aware of which one she is. She has such a great group of friends in our homeschool group, these kids have grown up together and they are all have so much fun together! They were being totally silly and letting me take their pics the other day!

No, not stalker-ish! Just pointing out we have the same great taste! Also, don't be too surprised if you see us run from CP by 8:50 to get in line for Merida. I hope we're done eating......

Sorry to hear about your DH's back. I had 2 herniated disks in my lower back, and did have the neurosurgery. It took about 2 months to get back to work afterwards. I hope PT works for him. Stay on top of it, sometimes it just delays to surgery. I hope not

63 DAYS!!!

I'm so bad about updating, it's mostly b/c plans have changed so radically since the beginning of this report that it feels strange adding to it! We have 63 days until our AKL trip!

A few tidbits...

I got luggage! I have never bought an actual luggage set, so when Kohl's had a big sale, Rey told me I should get one. It's unique, I'm sure it will get filthy eventually being offwhite, but we don't travel THAT much, so maybe it will hold up! There's a big suitcase (shown) and also a carryon and large "beachbag" type bag that are all matching. I love them! And yes, you will notice our TICKETS sitting on top of them for your viewing pleasure! 2 day hoppers!

It's so nice to have everything paid except food & souvenirs! Although...with the 2-3 ADR's, food & wine, and the way Rey shops...that still leaves a bit of money to save up!

I was so excited to have the luggage, I pulled out the Disney luggage tags that they sent us in January and put them on my luggage! (we drove in Jan)

AND, last but not least, this little screen shot that I took this morning...

Did you catch that? Who caught it? That's right...at the beginning of the update I said we had 63 days...how many does that say????

Oh yes, that would be another trip I have planned! So, here's how it happened. I was thinking about next fall when Savannah & I were talking about just a mother/daughter trip. Well...I was checking the airlines daily to see the prices, Rey and I got such great airfare for our trip, but the prices had skyrocketed and I have this companion ticket that I was searching for a good price for...but I digress, didn't even use that...

So I come upon a DIS post about Frontier airlines opening up a nonstop flight from Columbia, MO to Orlando and that it's brand new, only two flights a WEEK...and on HUGE sale! $79 each way! I talked it over with Rey and decided that it was worth the risk to just purchase the cheap airfare, so I chose the only days I could in February 2013! Tuesday the 5th-Saturday the 9th (b/c tues & sat are the only days they have flights) and Savannah & I are headed to WDW for our Mother/Daughter trip in Feb. 2013!!! We are going to get YES tickets, so deeply discounted 3 day tickets, and pay OOP for CS meals to make it a cheap trip.

You guys get to guess where we are staying!

And yes, I realize that this is not that far off in dates from the trip that Hope & I were going to take, but we both agree that family time/vacations just have to come before BFF trips at this point in our lives. We're both fully aware of how fast our children are growing, we both have pre-teen/teens now and before long, they won't be going anywhere and we'll have oodles of time for BFF trips!

Ok, so let the guessing begin! Where do you think Savannah & I will stay for our Mother/Daughter trip in February????

ummmm.......I'll take a guess and say Pop. I know you really like that place, and it's a value, so I'm going with that one.

I LOVE your luggage!! Peter needs a new suitcase so that will be one of his Christmas gifts this year. Along with a wallet. His wallet is falling apart and I swear he'll be putting duck tape on it soon. OOOOhhhh, maybe I should do that for him since I have a nice pink and black zebra striped one!

So, I guess it will be another year or so until our trips overlap (if ever...) but I'm so excited for you and Savannah!

Yep, I don't think our dates would have overlapped anyway since I would have had to go after labor day, in September. This way, I have next fall OPEN for a family vacation. Not sure if we'll all do Disney again or something like the beach, but I make the bulk of my extra/vacation money in the summer, so I should be able to save up for something for ALL of us!

You'll have to wait on the resort guess for a bit still! I'm not telling just yet!

Hey Dani!! Wait, if you get it right, does this mean I have to give Trollie back?!?

Funny story related to him. I am getting a new car (ok, I have to explain the whole situation, so you'll have to humor me!) and it has taken them FOREVER to get it. They tried getting me other new cars from dealers and failed, they ordered it and kept pushing off the date and making excuses...so finally one of the dates came up and they called and said "just come in and we're going to let you drive one of our cars until yours comes in". COOL! It's a little Ford Fiesta with fantastic gas mileage (same car I'm getting, but with more bells and whistles) and in front of the mirror on each side is this ADORABLE tiny triangle window. It's so cute, I swear it's my favorite thing about the car.

Yep, everyone thinks I'm completely bonkers, but I LOVE this little mini-window. Completely pointless as well as it's so small. What does this have to do with anything you say??? Well, I have decided that when my car actually comes in, that this spot is PERFECT for Trollie (or possibly another Vinylmation if I get one on our trip). I'll have to take a picture.

Represent! That's right! Yep, I just could not pass up that price for airfare, it was about the same price as all the airlines are charging for ONE person, so 50% savings! The YES tickets will make the park tickets half price, so it made it totally doable!

This was a no-brainer for us! In January, THIS was our view from outside our room, looking across the lake from PoP:

Savannah LOVES Pop, seriously had said she never wanted to stay anywhere else (it was the first resort she stayed at on our first trip and she always wants everything to be like THAT trip!) but after seeing AoA being built across the lake, it didn't take any persuasion to get her to agree to AoA Little Mermaid for our Mother/Daughter trip!

I cannot WAIT until it opens up this month on the 15th and there are more pictures to see!! Also interested if there will be a drink refill station in the LM section, like rumored.

We did briefly discuss renting points at AKL, only b/c she LOVES animals, seriously, this girl is very serious about animals! Her response after telling her about the balcony overlooking the animals was "We can stay there if you're ok with never leaving the room!"

So the new AoA it is! The only issue I'm having is that initially I wanted to get free CS dining, but I don't think the LM section is going to offer it. It was offered once at the beginning, but all the pins and offers since have excluded LM rooms, they are just too popular and there's no need for discounting them. BUT, with the Y.E.S. tickets, we're saving as much as FD anyway, so we'll just pay OOP for food and maybe I can get a AAA small room discount. The room is already booked with a package, but I'll most likely change that. I don't have to RE-BOOK to do room only, right? I can just make changes and take off my ticket package? If I do, I better get on that, part of why I booked so soon is b/c the rooms are filling up and they are a hot commodity!

YAY!!!! That sounds like a perfect choice for you two!!! I was toying with that idea as well, but I didn't want to be that far away from a drink station (after all, it's all about the refillable mugs, isn't it?! ). I actually already made some changes to my ressie for next August. The trip hasn't even been booked a week yet and I change it! Ugh!

I'm so glad you're going to be updating more often (you ARE going to be updating more often, right??? ). I miss reading about your adventures!
