Hello -we are back tonight from a lovely trip -our 5th Disneyland Paris trip but first with the grandparents!

Had a bit of a disaster with a missing case for when we arrived -so wasted a full 3 hours and missed our transfer the first day:mad:
we had a laugh all picking out a selection of Disney underwear to buy until our case finally got delivered though:rotfl:
We are scottish and had completely forgotten that English half term tied in with the Jubilee holiday this year so park was a bit busier than we would normally have liked.

LOWS first I guess.
-Crowds on the Saturday with everyone arriving for half term was really busy everywhere-wasn't very enjoyable for my parents but they had a nice relaxing afternoon back at the hotel and we went to the studios instead going on rides whilst the stunt show swallowed a good amount of people up.

-Cafe Mickey -had a birthday meal for my littlest there-we have been there several times over the years so know its not always the best for food or service but character count was a bit dissapointing-have they cut down on the amount?
we used to see mickey, pluto , goofey , scrooge, tigger, smee, captain hook, king john, minnie , geppetto etc there and there used to be a bit of a group dance on the sat night we were there the only characters were goofey, mickey, scrooge and tigger-now to be fair Goofey was fab he was a real character and was dancing all over the place and really spending time with everyone-my kids werent really any the wiser but we thought there would be a lot more characters.

-break downs-seemed to be quite a lot of breakdowns whilst we were there, backlot tours was closed for 2 of the days we were there which was a shame as would have liked to show my parents that and both buzz and parachute drop broke down after a 30 min queue on each and we never got to ride.

-characters -seemed to be a lot less characters around and about the parks -my oldest girl is now at the age she likes getting autographs and photos so was a bit of a shame when again we have been in the past and seen so many more around.

-Walts service-this is just a little low;) Had a lovely meal here as we usually do -but it lasted 3 hours !! service was veeeerrrry slow-we have children aged 8,5 and just 1 -they are used to behaving and sitting at a table so they were good but it was a long meal for them -the food was delicious though -really good this time so we will maybe let them off this time!!

-breakfast bun smuggling injustice:laughing:!! -haha now I know loads of people do this doesnt really bother me at all -have seen plenty of people take food in their bags for later in the park as must the CMS-but I got into trouble this morning for it!!!
now we never take extra stuff out in all our stays but this morning my children were shattered and still in bed sleeping -I went down to breakfast and met my parents who were allready down there just to say we were going to skip breakfast and let the little ones sleep in-I took a croissant wrapped in a serviette to go back to the room for my almost 1 year old so she had something to eat when she woke -but the cm stopped me and said no this is not possible ! I said but I am taking it to my room for my baby but she said no your baby can come down later when she is awake!!!!
now this really annoyed me it was 1 croissant -bearing in mind only 2 from the 7 in our party were actually having breakfast and that I have actually paid for breakfast then I think I can be allowed to feed my baby !
I guess my mistake was being upfront and carrying it out in the open if I had put it in a bag or pocket like everyone else does then they wouldnt have said anything but to begrudge a baby some breakfast seems a bit harsh! So hope all you other people at the park out there today enjoying your smuggled pan au chocolats and croissants enjoyed felt guilty whilst my baby was starving;)

Right the nicer bits -
The HIGHS!!:)

Dreams-just wonderful , really doesnt do it justice watching tv or youtube clips it is just fantastic the fountains, fireworks and effects alltogether -so glad we experienced it this year.

The weather-We were very lucky lovely sunny hot weather , made the trip even better and was a lot nicer for my parents-was raining when we got up this morning and cold and windy so I think we were lucky to get a solid run of great weather!

The park-The parks were looking really good , fountains working, everything painted and looking **** n span as it should be -great to see it like this.

Toy story land-we havent been abck since toy story land had opened so was nice to see a few new rides-my 8 year old went on RC racer:scared1: brave boy -I could hardly watch but it was the highlight of his trip!

Princess pavillion-my daughter really loved this and was delighted to get her picture with Ariel-last time we had been she hadnt managed to meet Ariel so she was delighted-lots of people moaning in the queue though about going a second or third time and queuing for 45mins to an hour to see the same princess that they have allready met but im not sure what the answer to this is:confused3

All in all we had a lovely trip especially as we hadnt been for a couple of years-Dreams was amazing and was my personal highlight. I think my parents loved seeing the childrens reactions but think they found it a bit full on and busy but still enjoyed it (and my dad got to dance with King Louie who is his favourite:)

:rotfl: a real mixed bag there I think!

Really nice to hear your parents enjoyed it though, and there were more highs than lows, yes? A pretty eventful trip, one way or the other :rotfl2:.

Sounds like a great trip overall :thumbsup2

You sound like me at breakfast....never take anything and the one time you're completely justified in doing it you get your wrists slapped :lmao:

I agree about Dreams, just cannot put it into words

And yaaayyy for a wee dance with King Louie :woohoo:

Welcome back :wave2: glad to hear you had a great time overall.

Sorry but I had to laugh at you getting caught at breakfast :lmao: it does seem a bit harsh when you see others cramming trayfulls and you're only taking one little croissant for a genuine reason ..... hope you can see the funny side now too.

We also thought there was a lack of characters at cafe Mickey last time we went we still had a great time but we only saw four when on previous trips seen 6 or 7 x

Glad you had a good trip overall. I have heard several reports lately of less characters in cafe mickey which is a shame as we have always enjoyed it in the past. :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing your highs and lows - love reading them! :goodvibes Glad you had a good time overall :thumbsup2
