SO.....Hubby and I got back last night from our no kids anniversary trip. It was wonderful, sad, exciting, sad, fulfilling, sad...you get the picture.

Arrival day...we stayed our first night at Coronado Springs (to save points on a weekend). I have to say, we will not return here:sad1:

We were put in 2 rooms that smelled horribly of smoke....I have bad asthma and can't be around smoke at all. The first room smelled of cigars, then we moved and the second smelled of cigarettes...finally we were put in a room that smelled only of mildew.... The hotel is pretty, but feels too much like a motel to us and I don't like that everything is far away from your room.

The next day we checked into BWV studio...all I can say is WOW!!! It was really huge. I now LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the Boardwalk.:thumbsup2 . We were in room 5072. I loved the walk to epcot, the boardwalk itself, the villa....everything. I wish they had a better counter service but....its not that big of a deal.

We had a view of the main pool, we were right off of the elevator and our room was clean....well I did call for a new shower curtain because it had mildew on the bottom. Other than that....I was in heaven.:cloud9:

We utilized the free valet alot...the parking is kind of far but to valet was very nice and worth the couple of bucks for a tip each time.

We did deluxe dining plan and ate at...
Tutto Italia
Flying Fish
Chefs de France
Tokyo Dining
Turf Club (supposed to be LeCellier but swithced bc we were at SSR and it was pouring)
California Grille
Coral Reef

As for the dining plan...it cost us $419. I saved my bills and the total of the restaurants came to $752 plus you can add 26 for the 2 free mugs and around 36 for the snacks...so for $419 we got over $800 worth of food....WOW is all I can say.

We loved all of the places we ate and were totally blown away by flying fish...it was so amazing...hubby got the steak and I think it was the best meat I have ever tasted in my life.

We went to tour BLT...it looked nice but I hate hate hate that the vanity in the studio is right next to the kitchen area...it just seems icky to me. We decided not to buy while we were there..even though my husband was gung ho on the whole idea. Then he started throwing around the idea of a BWV add on...but then there is the whole issue of length of time. So in the end it seems we are pretty decided that we are adding on 125 points at BLT.

Anyway, we had a blast but I missed the kids so much that I am happy to be home...I will download pictures later and if anyone has any questions about anything we did or saw just let me know..

Oh...by the way TSM ROCKS!!!!!

Welcome back! I'm glad you had such a great time at BWV!

I agree about TSM!

That's a significant savings on that Dining Plan! Good for you!!

Bobbi:goodvibes

What is TSM? Glad you had a great time at BWV......you might want to rethink that add-on! Did you love BLT as much as BWV? Love, love the boardwalk view  ....try that next time if you can!

Toy Story Mania...it was the coolest ride ever. The only prob is that it is constantly breaking down. We almost didn't get on it. We kept checking back to see if it was operating. On our way out we checked one more time and it was up...we were so happy. It was the one thing that I said I had to do on this trip.

As for the add on...my husband really wants BLT and I really don't care too much. The extra years are the big incentive. We thought about adding on at AKV but we thought that we wouldn't have any trouble staying at AKV at the 7 month window. BLT will be harder, especially the lower point rooms which is what we will be looking for.

Here we are....the happy couple of 9 years going out for our fancy dinner at Flying Fish. BTW...we dressed nice but there were plenty of people in tanks and shorts. I don't think they really uphold that dress code.

We saw Jordin Sparks at MGM shooting a video for the new American Idol ride..she is really beautiful in person.

And a few pics of BLT...pretty but the studio is TINY and very strange layout.

There is alot of storage in the TV unit but I still can't get over the fact that the vanity area and kitchen area are in the same room (only about 4 feet apart). The CM at the model also said they didnt like it and they were getting alot of complaints about it.

Oh..the balconies are HUGE...the biggest I've seen.

Sounds like a fun trip! I don't know if you've ever checked out the pics but IMO BWV has the best Christmas decorations second only to VWL. :santa:

So glad you had a great trip. The studio looks better than I thought it would.

If I haven't told you before, I've thought it many times. Your girls are just beautiful!

As for your trip, glad you had a nice time. I keep trying to talk my hubby into going down without the kids, but he said it just wouldn't be the same. That's the point, isn't it??? Let's just say I've always been the more creative one in the household! :lmao:

Also, congrats on your future purchase! One thing's for sure...I think BLT will hold its value for quite some time. Plus, you just can't beat the location with the little ones. :thumbsup2

P.S. Nice pics!

thanks buckeye!! Your husband is right...it isn't the same. Not in a bad way. Honestly, though, I missed them so much that every 2 year old I saw made me tear up a little.

I am really gald we did it, but I don't see us taking a trip to disney without them again any time soon. We do have a week trip to Hawaii planned next anniversary without the kids. I don't think that will be as hard.

WELCOME BACK PEANUT!! :goodvibes

Sorry about your stay at CSR. We stayed there an entire week in May. We would never return either. :sad2:

So glad you had a great trip otherwise! Can't wait for more pics!

Welcome back, my beautiful friend! :goodvibes I'm so glad you had a good time with DH. The closed I get to January, the more my heart aches for not taking Belle this time around.

I agree with you on BLT. The decor is great, but it looks super small and I wouldn't want my vanity and kitchen so close. My DH would probably love it though! He gross like that.

Y'all sound just like us.

We love our BWV.
We want BLT.
We think the vanity situation is nasty.

I'm really glad to hear that they are getting a lot of complaints about the vanity situation. It would be totally great if they still have time to change it.

Hey Disney - a single pedastal sink with the nice ledge like at POR in the bathroom would make a huge difference. There are other more modern approaches as well that are compact but adequate.

Then the vanity area would turn into 1/2 of a really great galley kitchen!

Apprentice...I hear ya!! I thought they could put the closet where the current kitchen area is and put the kitchen area on the main wall where the closet is....seems logical to me.
