We All Want a Jar of Hunny!~A Nov. 2010 TR! *NEW October PTR 4/4, pg 42!!!*

Your story about trying to find a spot for Illuminations sounded just like mine on our November trip. I so wanted to find a great spot but Miguel kind of foiled my plans. :sad2: I agree that the Epoct exit music can be very emotional - I love it!

I'm glad to hear what you thought of Teppan Edo. We have an ADR there for the disneymoon, and it's the only one that is sort of "bugging" me right now. I really would prefer to spend that particular evening outside of the parks, but we've always wanted to try TE. I hear pretty mixed things on it. Some people love it, but then others say it's the same thing you would get at a hibachi place at home. :confused3 I guess I'll just wait and see...

Awesome update. I think if I had ONE margarita, I'd be on the floor. I'm not much of a drinker anymore (too old), and the Slushie in France almost did me in.

The food at Teppan Edo sounds good; glad you at least tried it.

I'm one of the rare ones who doesn't care as much for Illuminations and we've not done it in about four years. I prefer Wishes and Fantasmic. But I'm glad you got to stay and see it and you got some awesome pictures.

Yay great update!!!

Sorry you didn't like Teppan Edo. It's a favorite for my family. My family had never eaten at one like that before and after going with some of my roommates down there, I convinced them to try it and now they are hooked! We've eaten at Benihanas here a few times but we love love love the noodles at TE. Of course the prices are way better at Benihana so we don't usually go to TE unless we are on the DDP. I've booked a TE ADR for in March just in case they totally change Le Cellier March 1st for lunch and we don't like the new menu..let's hope that's not the case!

Thanks!

It's not that I didn't like Teppan Edo, I did, I just didn't love it! :confused3 The noodles were really good, the steak was great, but the chicken was kind of blah. I'm glad we tried it, though, it was fun! I hope they don't change the Le Cellier menu too much either!

Maybe they're plugs......:rolleyes1

:lmao:

LOL...maybe! I can never tell! :rotfl:

I like Teppan Edo, but it's not a must do for me. We have a lot of hibachi restaurants in my area, so it's something we can get regularly.

I am totally with you about the margarita's! I'm the same way, I have one, and I'm a little bit happier than normal. ;) Yeah for the blue one (it was yummy, wasn't it?).

I've never been to a hibachi restaurant, Teppan Edo was my first! We have a few around here too, I'd like to try one someday and see if they are any different!

The blue margarita was awesome, I love drinks that glow in Disney! :woohoo: And they are really strong! :cool1:

Yay! Great update!

FYI, I totally have the Pre-Illuminations music playing right now so thanks for the link! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad that I got my BF involved in the ADR making process! I convinced him to look at menus with me before I made our 2010 reservations and it worked out so well! We're already making plans for our potential 2011 trip.... I may already even have a temporary itinerary posted...:rolleyes1

I tried one of the margarita's from the little stand that was right outside the Mexico pavilion in 2009 and it was so strong I couldn't drink more than a few sips! I usually like frozen margaritas but that one was too much for me!

I like watching Mo'Roccan play! My BF stops to use that same bathroom in Morocco all the time so I usually get to sit on the little patio area and watch them.

And we're also fans of the Orange Side! If we get to go this year and we're there around the same time as you guys, we can totally meet up so we can ride together! We actually haven't gone on it in a couple of trips....I don't know why but we seem to just skip over that whole part of Future World :confused3

Thanks! Isn't the pre Illuminations music the best? I have the whole playlist on my Ipod on my phone, I seriously listen to it every day!

I try to get Brandon's input on where he wants to eat but all he ever says is "Canada". :confused3 This year, I'm gonna force him to tell me where he wants to go this time! I know he wants to do Boma again, he loved the breakfast there!

Mo'Roccan is fun to watch, but I get kind of bored after a while! I have a problem with stopping to watch things in Disney, I always want to just keep going! I have to work on that!

Yay I hope you get to go on your trip so we can ride MS together! I'm kind of nervous about riding the orange side alone! :rotfl2: It would be the one time I'd get sick, when I'm by myself on that ride!

Ahhhh, I love wandering around World Showcase at night! :lovestruc

I've never managed to see the band in Morocco. Glad you still enjoyed Illuminations, despite not being in the first row.

Can't wait to hear about your favorite days!

I love World Showcase, I could seriously go there every day of my trip and never get bored! :cool1:

Mo'Roccan is fun, but like I said, I can't watch for too long, I get anxious and want to keep moving! :rotfl: Illuminations was amazing, as always! One day I'll get a good spot without people in front of me! :rotfl2:

LOL...I didn't even really explain the whole Illuminations story in my TR, I left out how many times we walked back and forth from England to Morocco...at least 3 times before we settled in England...I was SO annoyed by then! :rolleyes1 It was still a lot of fun watching it, though, despite having like 10 people in front of me! I LOVE the Epcot music, pretty much any music they play in Epcot is amazing! :lovestruc

Our Teppan Edo ADR bugged me too! :rotfl: I kept asking Brandon if we could change to Chef's for weeks before our trip, but he didn't want to, so I was kind of stuck going, since that was his one place he picked. I mean, it's good, you won't not like your food, but it's just not great, you know? :confused3 It's fun, though, the chef is very entertaining! :thumbsup2

LOL, I'm not a huge drinker either! Sometimes I can handle those margaritas and other times, they are too much for me! :rotfl: They're just so good, I can't resist them! Maybe I need to drink more slowly next time! :yay:

I'm glad I at least tried Teppan Edo as well! It was good, and I'm glad now we can focus on trying new places since Brandon got that out of his system! :rotfl:

I can't believe you don't like Illuminations! I prefer Wishes also, but I love Illuminations almost as much! Then again, I haven't seen Fantasmic since 2008 and don't really care to see it again, so I guess some people find that strange! I liked Fantasmic, but I don't like how you have to wait an hour to get a good seat, I just can't be bothered! :confused3

I love blue drinks, so I got the Magic Blue margarita

I feel the exact same way! If I can't decide which drink to get I always just ask for a blue one. Has always been a good choice! Can't wait to go to La Cava at try that one!

Thanks for taking us around WS at night, so beautiful. You did get some good shots of Illuminations, glad you got to enjoy it. The music definitely sets the mood.

Hi! I just finished reading your TR, so far. We are thinking of going to the Food and Wine Festival this year, so I loved reading all about it. Too bad about not finding the perfect Illuminations spot, but the pictures turned out great. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more!

Ritas look super yummy.

Boo to Brandon for picking Teppan Edo and then being ready to ditch it. I would like to try Tokyo dining however. It would be fun!

Thanks for posting the Epcot music. That totally gets me in the Illumination mood.

I'm glad you ended up with a good spot for Illuminations. I have always been able to walk right up to the fence outside of Norway in the last couple minutes. Not sure why, but no one stands there.

LOL, I've gone to random bars and asked for blue drinks and have gotten some weird drinks! Some were really good, and some were just awful! The blue margarita was amazing, though, and I love how it glowed!

I love the WS at night, it's so pretty! I love Illuminations! I wish I could see that and Wishes every night! :)

Hi, :welcome:! I've actually lurked on your TR a bit, but never commented, I don't know why, sometimes I do that! I will definitely go sub and catch up, though! :yay:

The Food and Wine festival is SO much fun! It's a huge reason we are going in October this year, because I really want to be able to go during the week, the weekends there are crazy!

Ritas look super yummy.

Mmm the margaritas were definitely yummy! I love the cave, SO glad they put that there!

LOL, Brandon is always like that, which is why when i'm ready to make my ADR's this year (still 2 months to go...ugh!!!) I'm going to sit him down and make him pick places, then remind him of the Teppan Edo episode! I just hope he doesn't pick Tokyo Dining, I have no interest in eating there!! :rotfl:

I actually remembered you saying that on our trip, that Norway was your spot for Illuminations, and we went there on our last night to catch the end of Illuminations, and I love it over there! I'd really like to sit on the bridge one time also, between England and France, that looks like it would be a great view!:thumbsup2

More SNOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!! Where are we going to put it all?????? :cold:

Ughhhh...I can't even think about it, seriously, I'm so annoyed with this winter. I'm afraid our roof is going to cave in, there is so much snow up there! I'm gonna have to buy one of those roof rakes I keep seeing on the news.

I'm really nervous about Wednesday too, it's supposed to be an ice storm? That's even worse than snow!!! :sad1: Can it just be April already, I can't wait for spring!

I Think we will Skip Crystal Palace Next Time...

Good morning Dis friends! No work today, CT was hit by a lovely ice storm so that means I have the whole day to spend on the DIS! I got my 2011 planning DVD in the mail yesterday so I watched the whole thing and almost cried at the thought of not going during Christmas, so I'm hoping doing an update and reliving my trip will help with that a little! Either that, or I will be begging Brandon for a quick weekend trip sometime in December! :rotfl:

Day 6, 11/17

After sleeping in the day before, we were back to waking up at the crack of dawn to rush out to a park first thing in the morning! We had a breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace at 8:30 and I wanted to get there a little early to take some pictures on Main Street before the crowds arrived!

We made it to MK by 8:00

and walked right in through the breakfast reservation entrance! I love that they have a separate entrance for breakfast ADR's!

We stopped as soon as we saw a Photopass photographer to get our picture taken at the beginning of Main Street, I remember wanting to do it last year, but I think the line was too long. Today, there was no line, just one family getting their picture taken. So we waited to the right of the PP for our turn. Then another family came up and waited on the left side of the PP, and she turned around and said, very snottily, "I can't have 2 lines, you need to make one line". Whatever, it was our turn so we just went up to have our picture taken, but I was annoyed at this lady, there was no reason to be such a jerk when there were just TWO of us waiting!

Even though I was kind of annoyed with the PP, it ended up being probably my favorite photopass picture of the trip! (And she was actually very nice when we took our picture, but the way she snapped at us and that other family about being in line was strange!)

Once we finished taking our picture, we walked down an empty Main Street towards Crystal Palace.

Cute Christmas decorations!

The castle!!

IMG_2025.jpg

Once I finished taking 50 pictures of the castle, we went over to Crystal Palace to check in.

IMG_2030.jpg

We were a little early so we just stood outside and waited, it was a beautiful morning and I figured I might as well take some more pictures!

Brandon having a great time waiting :rotfl:

IMG_2033.jpg

The castle, again!

IMG_2035.jpg

Finally we were ready to be seated, so we made our way inside, we were both pretty hungry by then, and I couldn't wait to see the Pooh characters!

We were seated on the left side this time, on our Disneymoon we were on the right side of the restaurant. After our waiter explained everything to us and we ordered our drinks, we were up and ready to hit the buffet!

I got an omelet and some other things and went back to the table,

IMG_2037.jpg

while Brandon was taking his time up there. While I was alone, Pooh walked by and kind of glanced at me sitting all alone, and he kind of motioned to me that he would be back (I don't know how I got that from a character that doesn't speak, but I could tell what he was saying! :rotfl:). Brandon returned and we ate our breakfast, and then he was ready for seconds. I wanted to find that puffed french toast my sister mentioned in her TR from May, so I went back to the buffet with him. While we were up there, we missed Piglet and Tigger somehow. :confused3

We sat back down and Eeyore was coming over...he was really the only one I wanted my picture with, so I was excited! What does Eeyore do? Totally snub us! :sad1: He just walked right by our table and went to one with kids and spent a good deal of time with them. I figured he would make his way back to our table, but nope. We sat there and waited, even when we were finished and he just totally ignored us.

I was pretty annoyed with the whole experience that day. I mean, I don't have to meet every character there, I understand we are adults and we don't have kids...but I know a lot of people don't have kids and they see every character!! If we are at the buffet that's one thing, because we do spend a lot of time up there :rolleyes1 but for them to just walk by is obnoxious. I would have said something, but honestly, I was ready to just get out of there. I was so excited for this breakfast, because it was so much fun on our Disneymoon, and I love going to MK before it's open, but now I have a bad feeling about it. So we will probably end up skipping it this year. I thought it would be a tradition for us, Crystal Palace breakfast every trip, but now I'm not so sure. :confused3

We went outside towards the castle, and I saw the trolley and the citizens doing a little dance and singing the trolley song, so I stopped to watch for a little while...another one of my "Four Parks, One World" CD songs coming to life!

IMG_2042.jpg

Once we were finished watching, we again walked towards the castle and I took yet another picture of this:

IMG_2043.jpg

I must have taken at least 20 pictures the statue on this trip! I guess I was making up for all the times I never bothered!

A few more castle pics:

Once we walked through the castle and were in Fantasyland, we quickly went over to Peter Pan to get FP's. Then we had to decide on our first attraction of the day...

Would the Winnie the Pooh ride finally be open? Or should we try something new? Stay tuned! :woohoo:

id be really disappointed if i got snubbed to by eeyore!! I'm have an adr there in June. but i have a 4 yr old... i hope they dont snub her!!

and ps isnt this snow ridiculous?! i live in NY and work in CT. I attempted the drive this mornng but it took me 25 mins to go 10 miles!!! ughhhhh... at least the groundhog didnt see his shadow! early spring, hurryyyy up!

Oh no, that's so disappointing!

Because we go with just adults, I often wonder about the potential of being snubbed by characters at character meals. I haven't had it happen yet, but I can understand it would be disappointing. Even if they only stop by briefly, I think it still makes the meal magical.

I'm a firm believer of you can't have too many pictures of the same thing if that picture makes you happy! :rotfl:

Eeyore always snubs us! We've eaten at CP twice I think and he just walked right by us both times. The first time, the handler said that Eeyore would be right back, but he didn't come back. The 2nd time he literally just walked right by. I wonder if it's hard for them to see so maybe they don't realize there are people sitting there? I don't know, but I feel your pain

That picture of you guys with all of the Christmas decorations in MK is awesome, I love that the park is empty around you guys too!!

I think I would have said something if I missed all the characters...especially when the whole excitement behind those breakfasts is to see them...then again as DBF says I cant keep my mouth shut in situations like that :rotfl:

LOL, don't worry, the characters are great with kids at CP, but for some reason, Eeyore seems to snub adults! He snubbed us on our Disneymoon as well, but I didn't care because we saw the other characters, at least!

Ugh I'm SO sick of the snow! I couldn't even motivate myself to go shovel the ice off the driveway today, I'm hoping the sun comes out and melts it tomorrow! :rotfl: I cannot wait for spring!

I was pretty disappointed. Like I said, I don't need to meet every one, even if they just stop by for a second and wave, that would be fine, but we didn't see one character! Eeyore upset me the most, because it seemed like he seriously glanced at us, saw we didn't have kids, and moved on to the next table that did have kids. :confused3 I might just skip character meals all together on my next trip, I really want to try Kona for breakfast, and I know Brandon wants to do Boma again, so maybe we will try again some other time!

I don't know what Eeyores problem is! :sad1: He's so cute, I just want to get a quick picture with him, I don't want to take up a lot of his time! If I do CP again, I'm gonna make sure I say something if he ignores us a third time! :yay:

Thanks, I love that PP picture, if we did Christmas cards with pictures, I would have used that pic!

I thought about saying something, but at that point, we were finished with our breakfast and I was ready to just leave and forget about it, I didn't feel like making it into a big thing. :confused3 We'll see what happens if I go there again! Maybe I'll try lunch or dinner next time, see if that makes a difference! :)

I love Eeyore and I would be so upset if he subbed me. That's just wrong. The characters should stop and see everyone, not just the kids. I got snubbed once at the old Donald's breakfastaurus (or whatever it was called) and I felt really bad because I was with my kids. I just wanted one lousy picture and Donald and he acted like a jerk.

You PP picture is really good. What a great background and pose. :thumbsup2

Beautiful castle pictures and I love that mosaic.

great update even though Eeyore was not magical for you :( A similar situation happened to us at Ohana but it was with Mickey. He did stop by our table eventually and took a pic with my brother and I and started to walk away when we called him back to take a family pic with my mom and dad in it too. I guess in a good day, it might not be the same eeyore the next time around which in your case would be a good thing!

I was pretty upset, but I got over it, I mean, I guess I could have said something, but I didn't want to be whiney and annoying, I just wanted to get out in MK and start having fun!

That's sad that Donald snubbed you, with kids! It's always so upsetting when characters in Disney aren't as magical as you hope they will be! 99% of the time, they're great, but there is always that 1% where something goes wrong! :confused3

Thanks, I was pretty obsessed with castle pics that morning, I love it! :lovestruc

I guess that happens more often than not, where characters skip over certain tables, but they should really have some kind of system where that doesn't happen! I mean, if you are at the buffet, that's one thing, but if you're sitting there and they walk right by, that's annoying! The whole point of character meals is to see the characters! I didn't like Chef Mickey's, it was too loud and annoying, and the food wasn't so great, but one good thing about it, the characters are amazing there! We were literally the only table there without kids and every single character stopped by our table and we got pics with each of them!

I'm going to try CP again I'm sure, because I do love the Pooh characters and if Eeyore snubs me one more time, I'll definitely speak up!

I'm so sorry that CP was a disappointment character wise. :sad2:

We missed Tigger one year but I wasn't too upset because we got the others and I knew I'd see Tigger in the United Kingdom. But for you to miss all of them is no fun...especially your favorite, Eeyore.

CP is our must do every trip...especially for the puffed french toast. Did you ever find it?

I love the picture of you and Brandon with the christmas decorations. What a perfect holiday picture!

Boo on CP. You should have told your server who you wanted to see. Eeyore missed us as well and our server brought him over to us. So sad that you got none of the characters.
