We are a family of four. My daughter is 2 and I assumed would share with my 5 year old son. I kind of even thought we MIGHT get away with the kids sharing with us for dinners (6 other adults, total).

I know it can vary so much with where you chose to eat but let's just say average. Our tastes are not "gourmet" by any means.

I was thinking $30 for breakfast and/or lunch
$50 for dinner
$15 for ice cream, snack, etc

So basically $100 per day. That'd be $700 for our trip. (obviously)
Do you think that's about right? Reasons why or why not?

Thanks.

And yes, I am looking at it in terms of the DDP too. It seems like you really make out on the kids' one ($11 a day - bargain imo) but the adult one gets you ($80 per day). Thoughts?

Ummm... I think it will probably be closer to $150/day on food. I mean, let's see. If you plan on just eating quick service/food court meals, you might get away with approx. $100 a day ($25 breakfast, $30 lunch, $30 dinner, $15 snacks). However, if you plan on eating any table service meals, the average is going to increase. For instance, a character meal (like Garden Grill for example) costs about a flat rate of $25 for adults, and around $10-15 for children. A meal at a world showcase restaurant could easily run you $75-$100, and if you wanted to eat at Cinderella's Royal Table at MK, well that could run you $100+ for just one meal.

So basically, it all depends on where you are going to eat. Plan on $100 a day if you just want quick service meals, but closer to $150 a day if you want some table service meals during your stay.

I checked out menus and all that. I just didn't want to get THAT scientific yet. LOL!

I assumed we'd do at least 4 TS meals if OOP. If we do DDP, we're doing all 7. hahaha, gotta get my money's worth. ;)

CS we count on 10.00 per adult but many of the meals DH an I share so cuttin our cost in half we also share a large drink esp in the cooler months.

The kids might each need their own drink esp in summer....

Any counter service has to give you a free glass of ice water if you ask for it we always get a glass of water each not so much to fill us up but to make sure we drink water I drink my water before I start eating an drinkin my diet coke or I'd never drink it.

No, no, $100 per day for MY family. Sorry that wasn't clear. The other adults are my parents & sisters and they're on their own for costs. I just pointed out the other adults b/c I figured with that many adults my kids might not require their own meal, at least for TS.

Why not get the dining plan??? It'll actually be $90 a day for your family since your 2 year old is free.

If your 6 yr. old has any type of appetite then I think sharing a meal at CS especially is going to be difficult. My 5 and 8 yr. old are always looking to us for more to eat when they have finished their meals at some CS places. A peanut butter and jelly uncrustable with applesauce is not going to fill my kids up for long and if they had to share? Forget it.

IMHO getting the meal plan for the 3 of you with youngest eating off your plate (buffets are the best because you can make your DD her own plate with no extra charge). My free one was the one that always ate the most! :rotfl:

if im not too late im suggesting the meal plean. it will be nice to try nicer places and not have to pay the "real" price for the meal. When we went we did the meal plan and got to try some amazing food. coral reef and le cellier were amazing and not really budgeted in the first price range you chose (50 for dinner) which includes drink , and dessert

We are also a family of 4 and have been twice not on the dining plan, and IMO, you'll need to budget AT LEAST $100 a day-- basically one TS meal comes close to $100 with tip..... I think Disney's prices are insane for the quality of food...
