You've been able to get 7DMT, Splash, Space, BTMRR, PP, and other high demand FP+ at a decent time of the day in the summer? What part of the summer do you go? We go in August, and have had to accept FP+ that are 5-6 hours into the day for most attractions at MK. And that's the only park that had any FP+ available.

Who mentioned FP at ideal times? I said we got same day FP, that it is possible. Are they perfectly timed FP? Maybe, maybe not.
Does it really matter if they are 5, 6 hours later? They work just the same. They still get you on the ride. Isn't that the point?

As for the rest, we go when school first gets out in late May, first of June and again just before they go back, in late July
This past July we even got FEA same day, after we'd use our first 3 at MK. For every other ride you mention, yes, I've been able to get FP that day. We are a group of 3. I'm sure it's easier for 3 than for say 5 or 6. The more FP you need the harder it is to get them, that is for sure.

The point is, just because the party that OP is traveling with can't make their FP till that day it doesn't mean their out of luck. There will be FP to pick from, and they aren't all Stitch or Figment.
Last April we ended up with some friends that traveled at the same time we did. We met up with them in the afternoons on a few days and we were able to adjust our FP to ride several things together. And they didn't plan their trip till 3 days out. As for crowds, it was busier that week (it was Star Wars Marathon and a big High School Band competition) than it was during our summer trips.

I live here and go to the parks 4ish times a week. I rarely book passes more than 2 days out, and more often than not I book same day.
I can book FEA, 7DMT, BTMRR, PP, and character meets. Often, they work perfectly well with my schedule and aren't at crazy hours.

When friends or family come to visit and I maingate them in, it's the same thing - I book FP when I can and they don't have to miss out on any of the big name attractions.

Posts like these give me hope. Second time going with FP+ and I'm still trying to grab one or two FPs with about a week left.
