WDWWDS - Quench your thirst

Hmmm I got partial credit in school. In fact I can remember a paper in literature class that I should have failed but my teacher gave me a C because my BS was so good. She even wrote that on my paper. lol :p

Don't we all.

Why don't you tell us how you really got that credit.

Isn't that like grading on a curve. I never understood that either. 3/4 of the class could get a "c" and that made it an "a".

That used to drive me nuts!!

I had a Lit teacher in High School that gave credit for BS. In fact, if the BS was really good, you could even get more points.

This explains why people in Sales and Marketing make so much money I guess.

Lizzie, basically the bell curve was used to correct the teacher’s ineptness to instruct the class properly. Is it possible that 30 out of 40 students got Cs that they were all at the same level? If this is so then there are two schools of thought. First, that the students were simply C students and that the mark they received was the mark the deserved – probably the case. Second, that the teacher did an inadequate job teaching the class, thus 75% of the students all received relatively the same mark, a C. In this case since 30 out of 40 students found the exam that difficult it must have been because the teacher did a poor job at getting the lessons across. How do we correct this? Bell curve.

KP, your teacher’s name by chance was not OT?

I hear you Boss - But it still doesn't make it right for those of us (yes, I was a school geek) that got A's without a curve.

As for KP's teacher, I think it was Yoda!!!

Actually, his name was Hans Dahl and he was several words I cannot use on this board. Not everyone thinks every book is about sexual frustration.

That can be explained by one or all of these:

a) You are marketing something no one wants.
b) You are doing the REAL marketing research back at the office, not the flying around the world, schmoozing with potential customers on the golf course, which pays more.
c) You are doing creative marketing/advertising..creativity doesn't get you money, BS does.
d) You are a woman.

Hey OT -

Any news on that survivor fantasy league?? Want to make sure I don't miss any of my fantasies:teeth:

By laying on my back, isn't that how all women get ahead in this world? Though I thought maybe that was a little over the top for an 11th grade lit class, but yet it seemed so right.

Maybe when you and I were in highschool Jas - though sadly now-a-days it's more common then not.

No, Lizzie, the Survivor League doesn't start until the second week or so after the show premieres on Sept 18th. In the meantime, you can check out the players here:

Survivor

OK...I'm doing something wrong here...my wife makes a hell of a lot more than me....:)

Oh well...I can live with that....:)

Boss...I'm sending some Star Wars questions your way....:)

But here is a Disney-related trivia question to mull over....
Disney just released all of the Schoolhouse Rock shorts on DVD (it WAS on ABC you know....)
Anyway we all remember this guy.....
bill.jpg

OK...but what was the text of the bill????

OK...I admit...we rented the DVD and relived our childhood tonight :)...but I always loved that trivia question...won a bunch of bar bets with that one...:)

Hey Higgs,

I just sang that song to myself. I don't remember "Bill" specifically saying anything about himself. Just describing the process it takes to become law.

Hmmm, I'll have to do some searching now.

Oh sorry, you said 'get ahead' .... nevermind!

Woman in Marketing. What is it exactly that you sell Madonna, maybe we can all help you on your sales pitch, or at least to recommend a low cut top for you to wear during those ‘Sales Calls’

For those who failed grade 6 - marketing is NOT the same thing as sales.

Sales people are loud morons who just happen to sit in the cubicle next to all of us, carrying their precious cell phones that ring like a ka-zillion times, only know how to use their ‘puter for email and apparently have the right to speak louder then anyone else in their vincinity....

...but as for the *low cut top* suggestion - heck I do that anyways... :teeth:
