Good for you Jas:D

Glad it's all behind you now. Hopefully in a few days, you won't need the pain meds either.:)

So are we staying at Higgs's house or CC's house? Or are we crashing at OT's house? I need to know - I've got a busy schedule (sssshhedule) coming up and need to make plans accordingly. Yup - that's right - I'm making like the Jefferson's and movin' on up! Just call me Ouisie (or did they spell it Weezy?). Plus, I've got a trip to WDW coming up next month, so don't plan anything for that week as well - I would be soo disappointed to miss out on all the fun. And I think Mr. Mystery would be as well.;)

OMG - no one!?! How about this one:

"...as in 'I wonder what happened to the O-needers?'..."

psst...anyone seen Steve lately? humm...maybe he doesn't want to hang with us anymore, 'cause he's afraid his buddy's are gonna call him a nimrod... :p

Hey!!!! Your a fellow Wonder groupie?!? Alright!!!

That movie is totally underrated...

Hi AP!

First memorable movie performance of Jonathan Schaech - and of course showcased the talents of one lovely Miss Liv Tyler.
And did you know, according to Dave Smith, Walt Disney Company Archivist, that movie is one of a few that filmed portions inside Disneyland?
-AP

Yeah - but Jimmy was a bit of a....errr...nevermind I can't say that word here...

personally? I liked my Guy much better

and not just a first for Liv....did anyone know who the heck Charlize Theron was when that movie was out?!?

"yes....I'm Tina..."

Charlize gave a less-than-notable performance - I forget about her role in the movie. :) Liv really showed her chops in that movie because it was a deviation from the indie films that she had been acting in for a number of years (who could forget Empire Records, Inventing the Abbots, and Heavy?).
"Shades" had a certain appeal, but I hated the thing he did with his mouth when he played - it made him unsexy.

rotflmbo...see and to me - that was sexy...hummm...maybe this is part of the reason that I find Clay sexy and you dont?!? :(

ahhh...who cares about Jimmy, Shades or Clay - at least we both still agree on Mr. Sex Appeal himself; Steeeeeven(said with a squeel) Tyler....;)

Preachin' to the choir, my sister!

Now I have to quickly drag out my soapbox - I promise I'll be quick.
The Houston Aeros brought home the Calder Cup almost two weeks ago. The Rice Owls brought home the college baseball national championship this week. The Aeros threw a fab celebration in the Summit to thank the fans (for free - and Houstonians know that you can't go to anything in the Summit for free). Rice threw a pep rally in Reckling Park (their field). Today, the city is throwing a parade to celebrate the Owls' championship - and the Aeros' win championship. Why does our hockey team have to share a celebration with a college team? Why did they have to wait almost two weeks for a parade? Why didn't they get their own parade? Because of the delay, a number of players on the team aren't even in Houston for the parade. I, for one, think the way the city handled the Aeros' championship is just embarrassing. But that's just my opinion.
Now I'll put my soapbox back in the prop department. Thank you for listening.

Thanks Lizzie. That is so sweet. :D I am feeling much better already!!! :D

Is it an adventure to drive while hopped up on the pain meds? I remember my adventure last year - I don't know how I got to work that morning but I and my truck somehow made it in one piece.
Glad the nightmare part is over! I hope you are well on your way to feeling 100% better!

Well I have been timing my meds so that I'm not so ummm "high" (for a lack of a better word) during my driving times. But for some reason this morning I was so spaced out when driving into work I had to have the air way cold and blasting on me while listening to LOUD music.

I was actually freaked by the time I got to work. But I made it in one piece. Phew.

I know that exact feeling. I was so overdosed on pain meds when I got one of my wisdom teeth taken out last year that it took an entire day to sleep it all off, but the next morning when I had to go to work, I was still loopy. I didn't remember driving there when I actually got there. And I remember I posted some interesting things on the PG that day - wouldn't it be fun to look in the archives for those?:p

Gotta brag - I just bought our tickets for the Aerosmith/KISS concert in West Palm Beach - 12 September. Oh yeah baby - I cannot freakin' wait!
So, can anyone recommend a decent hotel in West Palm Beach?
-AP

Jas, glad to see that you are doing better.

The Aero's got shafted because they are a minor league team in a sport that doesn't rank that high with the general public. I'm not sure why but that's the way it is and always will be, sad to say. At least it is that way in most areas of this country.

You're right - it is the way it is. I just felt so bad that they finally get at least a portion of a parade and most of the team isn't there to enjoy it because the city waited two weeks to acknowledge their accomplishments. Ah, well... such is life. That's why we'll never get an NHL team.
-AP

I think the problem with the popularity of hockey and the NHL in this country has to do with the players. Nobody likes a bunch of guys who play their sport hard, care about their fans, are true sportsmen in both victory and defeat, and are for the most part total gentlemen off the ice participating in numerous charities and community events (fashion shows). If this sport wants to compete with the more successful ones, they need to get more whining, drug addict, prima donnas who beat their wives, take steroids, ignore the kids asking for autographs and hide cork in their sticks. That's what the public wants.

Plus if they just would get some hot cheerleaders into bikinis and some skates, they'd be all set.

Concur. :teeth:

Cheerleaders in bikinis? Ot,you have just found the missing element of hockey. You really should forward this idea to Gary Bettman. Fashion shows, Joe I'm going out there and everyone with the exception of my wife is going to go running for the doors.

Ap, you are right. I can't see too many of the players staying in Houston or any other city so far from home long after the season is over hoping for a celebratory bone to be thrown their way.
