If I buy 4 tickets for 7days+ water parks days that expire after 14 days form Disney US site and then upgrade them at the end of my holiday to the non expiring ones am I right in thinking that I will get new unsigned tickets to take home with me. So if I only use 3 days and half the water days I will have brand new unfignerprinted non exspiring tickets with 4 days and the rest of the water days on them. If this is correct can these tickets then be bought between to diff families going to disney at diff times?:rolleyes1

My relatives are going a few months before us and if we share the ticket price the work out at less than half what they are here- thats why I bothered

Apologies if I've misunderstood you, but it comes across as a pretty devious, pre-meditated way of avoiding paying the correct price for your Disney tickets!

 :sad2:

I don't see it like that at all.

He will still be paying for the park entry - just trying to save money!!!!!

Yes - you should be able to do this at guest services, and yes - they do give you new tickets!

I would've thought the tickets were non-transferable. If that's not the case then fair enough, but what's the point in the fingerprinting and the signatures on the tickets if it's not to tie a ticket to a certain individual?

thats the piont I am trying to find out if this is allowed. I have read the small print and it states that once the ticket is signed and used it is not transferable. The new tickets given out would be unsigned and unfingerprinted and unused. I do not want to do any thing that is against the rules. But reading the small print I think I may have found what could be called a legal loophole. I am tryin to find out for sure before doing it as I am deffiniately not someone who would do anything that is against any written policy of anywhere I was attending. Infact I may even email the question to disney itself and see what they say. If its a legal loophole then I don't care what anyone else thinks I for doning it , it may be the only way we get to go in this year. as focusing the holiday on flex ticket this time.

Only the original ticket will be fingerprinted and non-transferable, if you trade that ticket in and pay for a non-expiry ticket, then that becomes a new ticket with no fingerprint. IF thats how the upgrade works I don't see any reason it can't be done BUT I have never upgraded a ticket to non-expiry to confirm.
One thing they could possibly do to stop people doing this is print the original buyers name on the ticket(same as on our Annual passes) then they could ask for ID next time it is used.

I don't really understand the animosity here. :S It's not like the OP is not paying for a ticket.

It's worth a try. Like Wayne said, they might print their name on it but if not you should save quite a bit. Just make sure you have enough to get a ticket for yourselves in case they do print your friends names on it.

Its a good idea, but the last time we upgraded our tickets we had to sign them in the presence of the CM, so not sure it would work...but that was a couple of years ago so it may have changed since then....also you need to factor in the cost of the upgrade of the tickets - when we did it we had 2 days out of 7 left and it cost us approx about £50 per day each......so that meant it was £100 each for 2 days which worked out to be about what we would have paid to buy the 2 days anyway - we haven't done it since.

why disney hasent reverted to the photo on card system they had years ago, much beter to combat fraud than biometrics,Again tickets should be signed.if a CM spots an unsigned one they can ask you to sign on the spot.

phoned disney - any insigned tickets can be used by anyone. Once they are used then they must stay with the people who use them. So disney agreed that this is a bit of a loop hole as long as they are not signed when they are upgraded. If only 1 person goes to upgrade them all then they cannot be made sign all the tickets. But one may be made to be resigned. Also they told me that the upgrade price is cheeper if you do not have too many days on the ticket to start with. So better to spilt a 5 day into 3 and 2 than to use a 7 day and try split into a 5 and 2.

hi the upgrade price depends on the number of days on the original ticket not the number of days left ie a ticket for 5 original days would be cheeper to upgrade than one of 7

for prices would go to http://www.mousesavers.com/wdwticketprices.html.but as your using tickets then upgradeing its still wrong if your going to give them to someone make sure you dont have too sign in front off CM.we have upgraded tickets for mil when she wernt thre no problem.so it can be done

The No Expiration Option can be added after the initial ticket purchase, but you'll have to pay the full upgrade based on the original length of the ticket. For instance, if you buy a 7-day ticket and decide on the 5th day of your vacation that you won't be using the rest of the ticket on this trip, you can add No Expiration for $117.15 and use the remaining 2 days on a future trip. Such upgrades are allowed within the first 14 days (day of first use plus 13 days).
