Who - Me (WDWLVR) and DH (MarkRG on the DIS). Very experienced WDW veterans. First and only trip to the World this year.
Day 2 - 12/3 We started out our first full day with breakfast at Chef Mickey's! We had seen the fun the night before as we were going to our room and looking down into the atrium. Now it was our turn. This is a really fun buffet with a lot of offerings and fun character interaction. We may be two adults with no kids, but that doesn't mean we don't like the characters!
After breakfast we walked over to the Magic Kingdom for some more fun. We started the day with Mickey's Philharmagic again (love this new show) then headed over to Tomorrowland. We did Buzz lightyear again (where DH got 999,999) and Timekeeper (another old favorite). Headed over to Splash Mountain which was a walk-on and did Pirates. A little bit of shopping and then we stopped at Casey's for hot dogs. After that it was back to the room to chill out for a while.
Mid-afternoon we headed over to Epcot. Tonight is our Candlelight Processional and dinner at Rose & Crown. First stop was Living Seas and then over to see Figment. Did the walk around World Showcase and then got in line for the first show of the night (we had the 5 pm show and got in line about 4pm). By 4:30 we were seated and ready for the show. I know a lot of people prefer the later shows, but for me I like the early one so that we can get settled in and now hear the show twice (once in line and once in the show itself). We had Ben Vereen and he was really into it! The only down side is about 3/4 of the way into the show it started to rain. Since we had no jackets with us (they were back in a locker) and nothing to protect the camera we headed out - then stopped at the back of the theatre where there was at least cover.
Since the rain had come we went back to get our jackets at the lockers by the International Gateway and to hopefully get in early for our 7 pm seating. Unfortunately the rain caused Rose and Crown to have to close up some of their outdoor tables so there was no early check-in. As it was when we did check in we ended up with a broken pager and it was 7:30 before we were seated.
The food was good but the service was not the best. Our server was very nice, but I think she was pretty new as her timing seemed to be off a bit.
After dinner we walked over to view the Lights of Winter - one of our favorite things at WDW and then we decided to call it a night and not wait for Illuminations. A quick ride on the monorail and we were soon back home at the Contemporary where we chilled out with our books before heading off to bed.
