I have no idea how to make this work...and we're prepared to pay for parking! LOL!!:)

Here goes:)..
We're offsite in February, staying with my parents. We're renting a minivan (they don't want to get their "own" vehicle) for the 6 of us...

One or two days, we know they want to do a mini-half-day trip, and they're going to drop us off at one of the Parks, and then pick us up.

How do we do this - the easiest way? Is there an easy way? Paying for parking is fine, but where would they drop/pick us up? Do they drop us off at the parking lot, circle around and out - we catch the trams, fine for getting in...how do we accomplish the reverse?

Just confused, and in need of some clarification:)

TIA!

I don't know which park you're trying to get in, and that forces me to be somewhat vague in responding to this.

If you're going to any park but MK, I'd just have the parents drop you off at the nearest resort to the park you want to go to, and then you can take WDW transportation (bus, boat or walking) from the resort to the park. If you're going to MK, that might be a little more difficult to achieve, since you have to go through the TTC parking guard gates to get to MK area resorts. I'd just tell the guard gate CM's at the MK parking area what you want to do and they'll probably accommodate you. But in this case, you're stuck riding the trams to the TTC, then riding the monorail or ferry from the TTC to MK. If you can get away with it, say you're visiting one of the MK area resorts at that gate, and they'll direct you there. Then you could have the parents drop you off at GF, Poly or CR, and you can walk, boat or monorail to MK, depending on the resort.

At this point, I have no idea what park it would be:)

Probably whichever one y'all thought was easist to manage the whole drop off/pick up scenario...;)

I don't want to feel like we're trying to pull anything on a CM - which is why paying for parking is ok...if all of us were going to the and leaving the van, we'd have to pay for it..so no big deal.:)

I just can't wrap my head around the logistics to actually do it. :teeth:

Maybe we'll just have a non-parks day!! LOL!

Thanks, John, for your help:)

Actually, all you have to do is drive to the parking lot for the park and tell the CMs at the parking booths that you just want to drop people off. They will tell you where to go - there are drop off spots for each park. I don't think they will charge for parking.

Best wishes-

I agree - while being driven past the Magic Kingdom on the way to the Poly this weekend, I was sure there was a "drop-off" sign really close to the MK entrance

Hint: If the toll booth CM says you cannot go in to drop people off without paying, you then say you are changing your mind and don't want to go in. Then the CM will direct you to a U-turn so you can go to a resort instead and those going tot he park can catch the Disney bus from there. If you are lucky, the turnparking lot tram will be running close enough to the U- so you can do the drop off anyway.

At what parks can this happen?

If memory serves (which it usually doesn't) it seems that (at least) the AK and Epcot U turns are near the toll booths and nowhere near the parking lot trams.

Thanks so much, everyone:)
