WDW without ADRs....almost

Sunday April 20 we took the SOG bus to AK. It was crowded and dropped us of in the middle of nowhere. I think I’ll stick to walking over to the Poly for their bus. We went straight to EE and rode it twice. Then we picked up Fps to Safari. Walked the African and Asian trails. We saw DeVine! Usually we don’t see these extras as we’re hurrying from ride to ride. We rode Safari and PW and ate at Restaurantosoarus. Prefer NOT to eat at an overpriced McDs.

Back at the room we made our weekly calls to our moms. Got to Epcot at 5pm and walked right on MS (orange). Rode the boat across the lagoon, first time ever. Watched Starship (part of the concert series) Stopped to have fish and chips.
Took the Monorail and Ferry (another first) over to the MK for EMH. Went on IASW, watched Philharmagic and rode the TTA. We watched Wishes from in front of the castle. After getting through the crowd, we rode HM, PoC and Big Thunder twice. Went over to ride Space Mt but it was down again. This happened at both EMH! So we went back to the room.

Monday April 21, time to head back to the real world.
We slept in. I packed while DH watched TV. We ate at the breakfast buffet. It was ok, basic choices but better than donuts.
The journey back to the airport was uneventful until we actually got there. I should have packed a 2x4 to get DH’s attention. :headache: I told him to stay in the right lane for Terminal A/Rental Car Return. So he goes over into the left lane. I’m yelling “NO,NO, over in the right lane!”. Of course then we can’t get back into the lane because of a taxi zipping up on the right. We finally get over and everything is smooth after that. There wasn’t even a line through security. We ate a slice of pizza to hold us over until we got home. Had to switch planes in Albuquerque. Arrived in El Paso on time.
My DD was actually there on time. We took her out to eat and drove back home.

I love a TR I can read in one sitting! Sounds like a fun time - although you probably needed a rest from your vacation! You guys did A LOT! We have a trip planned for December - my DD and my Dad play golf - do you call for a reservation - T-time and then they pair you up with others when you get there? What courses did your DH play - does he prefer one over another? I'd love any info you have on that as I want the two of them to make up their minds!

Thanks for the report and pics (and any golf info!)

A FUN TR, makes me wish I was going
to visit that famous mouse! Thanks for
sharing!!:worship:

Your night and fireworks pics are beautiful. What kind of camera did you use? The one looking down Main St was terrific too. Great TR!

I am so jealous that you saw DeVine! Its on my list for my next trip. Where did you see her?

I loved your trip and its report. You guys are amazing! I'm tired just reading it! You did so much and had so much fun.

Now I want to do DisneyQuest too....

Thanks for sharing!

My DH made his tee times through the Disney golf web site. I'm not sure how he found it (he was responsible for his own reservations ;) ) he played Oak Trail just because he hadn't played it. He was going to play both the Palm and Magnolia courses. He ended up playing the Magnolia twice as he could get the tee times he wanted. He's played the Palm before. They pair you up when you get there.

I got a Sony Cybershot for Christmas just for this trip. :woohoo:

We saw Devine on the walkway between Africa and Asia. I was so excited because we are usually on a mission to get to the next ride. I don't really get much of a chance to "observe" :rolleyes1

Oh my god, it took me months to complete my report! You did it in 1/10th of the time.
I think that makes me longwinded..... :rotfl2:
Final grades are due tomorrow, so I'll have to postpone reading your report, but it's on my to-do...... :goodvibes

I told you I would have to re log on after reading your wonderful reports. :lmao: I learned to save them for last. :)

Ha ha well I know I'm longwinded.... I just have a lot to say! My girlfriend wakes up in the morning in mid-conversation and I can't get a word in even if I weren't quiet (which I am), so I take it out on the keys.....:thumbsup2
Great report so far.... I've made it through your Universal day. I need to go to Disney with you guys..... you'll go on all the rides my companions won't!
Was a little nervous at first.... Wal-Mart and a chain restaurant.... :scared1: As you know, not exactly my favorites.
I can relate with the soda, however. I used to drink way too much of it. About 8 years ago I quit drinking it, though, and now only drink water most of the time (wine, beer, etc. occasionally). It really made a positive impact on my health. I also try to keep the processed food out, most of the time I eat all-natural foods and organic foods if I can get them (and afford them). Great for the metabolism!
TOTALLY with you on walking, as you know. Anytime there's an alternative to taking the buses in Disney World, we took it! And truly with your husband on golf carts!
Oh, and by the way..... Poor shooters of the world, unite! Buzz Lightyear will not hold us down!
All in all so far, I love your attitude about Disney. It's totally what the resort is all about...... people turning their back on social requirements concerning their age!
Accordingly, my girlfriend and I would like to offer you a starting position on Team Manic. Team Fun can't possibly compete with us with your assistance! :goodvibes

Oh a position on Team Maniac :worship: I am honored!
I know most people don't seem to like chain restaurants but when I'm tired I'm in no mood for experimentation. Plus we come from a town that only has 4 chain restaurants so any other than those 4 is new.
Since I don't smoke or drink too much (only on vacation) I consider soda drinking as an acceptable vice. :guilty:

Had Photopass pictures. We looked at them but no one else will ever see them. :scared1:
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I'm locking mine up too after our trip. Going to Typhoon Lagoon for the first time. Went to Blizzard Beach in 2003.

. We saw DeVine!
Rode the boat across the lagoon, first time ever.
DeVine creeps me out. Saw her last year.
How was the boat ride at EPCOT?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Men, :sad2:

I really enjoyed your report.:thumbsup2
Thanks for sharing.

The boat ride was relaxing. It's a short ride but still nice to get off your feet. I sort of made it my mission to ride every type of Disney transportation. :moped: Not until I was on the way home that I remembered I didn't ride the horse trolley at MK. :( ;)

All the more reason to go back! :goodvibes

I enjoyed your report. DW & I are empty-nesters & we too love going by ourselves. Sounds like we're about your same age (50ish). Thanks for writing.

Thank you jimmiej for reading. Yes we are about the same age. :cool2:

Finished your report.... nice job!
What did you think of the rides? What were your favorites?
I'm jealous that your husband got to play so much golf! I think Jen would be angry with me if I ran off to play golf that often while we were in Disney World......
I hope Typhoon Lagoon is open when we return this year!

I knew golf was going to be a part of my life...DH even played a round on our honeymoon. :rotfl2: (I did ride around with him on the cart)
My favorite rides are TOT, EE. Revenge of the Mummy, RnRC. I like most roller coasters except wooden ones. I have to admit I don't like being jostled as much anymore. I still like getting dizzy so I like the Teacups and Primeval Whirl. :hyper: For pure Disney, my favorites are PotC, HM.
Typhoon Lagoon should be open. They usually only close it during Jan. or Feb.
Crushn Gusher was great! Just like a roller coaster with water. :cool1:
