WDW without ADRs....almost

Wednesday April 16 DHS at opening. Rode the RnRC, then TOT. Then watched Sounds Dangerous and Jedi Training. Since the stunt show wasn't for a couple of hours, we rode the boat over to the Boardwalk for lunch at the ESPN Club. We had some entertainment as 2 guys came in saying they were doing a radio show. They discussed sports and asked a trivia question. We got a pin for answering a question. (Well DH did :) )
We walked over to Epcot, watched a British comedy troupe and bought our family coat of arms. My DH has always wanted one but had never seen our name listed before. (Also messed up the souvenir budget:rolleyes: ) We then watched Off Kilter. Never heard Johnny B Good on a bagpipe before!

Me wearing 2 T-shirts and DH golf jacket.
Back to DHS to watch the stunt show and did the back lot tour. Dinner was at the ABC Commissary.
Back to Epcot for the Flower Power Concert we saw The Happenings. I really liked the concerts. :flower3: Took the monorail back to the Poly where we got a Dole Whip before walking back to SOG.
Promise more pictures tomorrow. :flower3:

Now you vacation like I WISH I vacationed! Park Hopping AND Universal--in one day. You and your husband are my new heroes. I've tried to convince my BF to take a day out and visit Universal--but he claims US, IOA, and Sea World are a totally separate trip. But now I have proof! You can do it all!

Those topiaries are beautiful. What a great time to go to WDW.

I love Tower of Terror too! I have to go on solo coz BF is too chicken (sorry sweetie).

So you blew the budget on a family coat of arms, huh? What exactly is it? I understand its the symbol of your family name, but is it on a shield, a flag, a plate or something? That's really a cool thing for your family to have. I can pretty much bet they won't have my name there...

Keep the updates coming! Your trip has been fantastic so far!

Great report!!!! Keep it coming and great pic's. Love reading all the fun things you did just makes me want to be there:sad2:.

The coat of arms is printed on a piece of paper. The history of the meaning of your name in printed on another piece of paper. What really cost was the framing. I knew I'd never get it framed if I didn't pay for it right there. :rolleyes1 You could get a fancier version on cloth (embroidered or something, can't remember) but We are cheap.

:confused3 Sounds wicked...what is it?
A Kungaloosh is a mixed drink you can get at the adventures Club. I think it has rum in it and some juices. I don't really pay much attention to ingredients as I never try to make them. :scared: I do know they are THEE drink of Ft Wilderness campers. ;) I know I've seen their recipe posted before.

I'm glad you are enjoying this. :goodvibes

Thursday April 17, early EMH at the MK we had a bit of worry. During the Space Mt Mini Marathon a mama duck decided to take her babies for a stroll! :scared1: Mama’s quacking up a storm, ducklings running underfoot with all these feet! People kept saying ‘watch out for the ducks” . I think all of ducklings were reunited with mama after the line formed. Whew!
We rode SM, picked up a FP for later, then did Buzz and the teacups. We were ready for the rope drop to go over to Big Thunder. Rode that twice then went to PotC. Picked up FP for Jungle Cruise (JC) Went back to ride SM then watched the Laugh Floor. After riding JC we had lunch followed by the Tiki Room. We rode the train back to Main St. DH left to play golf I stayed to shop.

I participated in a contest between the three finalists for CMO. Had to sign a waiver as they were filming fo PR purposes. I was in Justin’s crowd.
DSC00121.jpg

I decided to stay for the 3 0’clock parade. I haven’t actually waited to see this parade in years. They had three high school bands march by. The CM’s entertained the kids with “Mickey says”, Hokey Pokey and other kids games. I sat near the Partners statue and people watched.

After watching “Dream Along with Mickey”, I watched the 5 pm Flag Retreat. (I don’t think I’ve ever watched this before). Took the boat over to the Poly, happened upon the Shaddy Shuttle and rode it to the SOG.
Met DH and went to Evergreens for dinner. We saw an alligator in the pond. We just stayed at the hotel for the rest of the night.

This is the pond with the alligator.

Friday April 18 actually made an ADR for Restaurant Marrakesh at 8:30 pm. that night.. We went to Universal. Saw Shrek, rode Mummy, Jaws, MIB twice, looked at Lucy, a tribute then watched Terminator. Over at IOA, we rode the Bluto’s Barges and Ripsaw Falls. We got completely soaked of course. :sad2: We rode Fire of Dueling Dragons then left to get more Diet Pepsi and lunch. We drove past Aquatica and saw the parking lot had been closed due to it being full.
Back at the SOG we went to the pool. DH lost our room key in the pool!.He eventually found it. Why he didn’t put in the velcroed pocket I don’t know. :confused3 On the way back to the room we saw the alligator again.
Went to Epcot, rode Spaceship Earth, got our wristbands and watched the Flower Power concert with Peter and Gordon. We wandered over to Morocco. Got seated 15 mins early so we got to see the belly dancer.:woohoo: DH wasn’t very happy with this place. We ordered half a carafe of wine got a full one . Couldn’t give it back as waiter had immediately left after putting it down. DH’s dinner was supposed to have hard boiled eggs, but didn’t. Never did get them but got a free desert instead. In fact ended up with 3 free deserts as another waiter came by and asked us if we had ordered desert. We said no but he didn’t want to take them back so gave them to us! We drank most of the wine so I didn’t really care that DH didn’t get his eggs. :rolleyes1 We managed to get back to Future World and rode Test Track. The line didn’t move for about 10 min but then started moving again. I decided riding MS was not a good idea at this time so we went back to the room.
Sorry no pictures for this day. Still not used to digital, still think I'm using film. :guilty:

I think its so funny that your both followed up a meal with a full carafe of wine and three desserts with Test Track! You guys are hard core!

I rode the "chicken" version of Mission:Space once and that was more than enough for me!

At IOA, I won't go on Bluto's Barges anymore either. I got soaked soaked soaked to the bone. But I do love Shrek and MIB. The Terminator show is fun too.

What's Aquatica?

Your trip sounds like my dream trip. :cloud9: Just bouncing around and doing whatever you please. Maybe one day when my kids are all grown.

Besides the missing eggs and the extra wine (not that I would mind the extra), how was the food at Marrakesh? I still have about 2 weeks until I can make ADR's and still can't make up my mind.

I second MagiKitty's question. What is Aquatica?

Id love to just hang around while dh played golf, too bad my dh hates golf :rotfl2:
Great report, nice pix, thanx for all the updates!:lovestruc

Love the photos! It sounds like SUCH a fun trip!

Someday my husband and I plan to do Disney with no kids. You sound like the two of you had a great time, especially the wine! :drinking1 Can't wait to hear :listen: more! (I've been wanting to use that smilie so bad!)

Yea, now I know what it feels like to drive drunk without the consequences.:drive: I still had enough sense NOT to try MS!
Aqustica is Seaworld's new water park, opened just this year.

I thought the food was good. I had lamb. DH was just grumpy. I'm not sure if he liked it. He did eat it. Of course, DH would only eat variations of hamburger if he could. :confused3

Thanks. Golf does give me time for myself. It will become more important when DH retires to keep him out of my hair. :rotfl:

Love the photos! It sounds like SUCH a fun trip!
Thank you. Sometimes I did feel maybe we were hopping around too much but we enjoy even the bus rides. :cool1:

I have to admit you can see and do more at Disney without kids, but I miss the wonder in my DD's eyes. :cloud9:

Found you.
You have been busy while I took a break.
Now I need to catch up.:surfweb:

All caught up.

My guys want to play golf at Disney sometime. Haven't done that yet.
The Shades of Green looks very nice.
I've wanted to watch the Water Pageant from the Poly. Haven't done that yet either.

LOVE the pic of you in the car.
Nemo show is one of my favorites. I was pleasantly surprised last year.

I get sick:sick: with the Virtual reality stuff at Disney Quest but my kids love it.

I've always wanted to do the Sea Racers too, but again, haven't yet.

 Exciting that you had a DIS meet.

Going to try Earl of Sandwich on next trip.

Pic of DH and dinosaur made me laugh.

I remember ticket books.

Flowers look beautiful.

We are going to Universal also on our next trip.
My brother worked on the Jaws ride a long time ago.
He took my kids in the back and showed them how everything worked when they were little so they wouldn't get scared.

Off Kilter is one of my favorite things at EPCOT. Very unique sound. I'm a big music lover.

DS bought our Family Coat of Arms on a baseball hat last year. He is saving his money to get more stuff in Sept.

Glad the baby ducks were safe.
We rode Splash Mountain one year and the boats almost smushed some baby ducks. Man in front of us got out of the boat and rescued them. Scary.

I want to see the Flag Retreat next trip. Heard it was neat.

Love the Japanese drummers in EPCOT.
Last year DS and I saw them at Stone Mountain at a Japan Fest.
Then we saw them again in Sept. on our WDW trip.
Same people. Have pics of both.
That was kinda neat.

LOVING your TR.
Keep up the great job.:thumbsup2

Shmu your reply made me laugh.:hyper2:
I still can't wacth the movie Jaws. :scared1:
Unfortunately my next installment will be delayed as my DD is having a crisis (of her own making) :sad2:

just wanted to pop in and say i'm really enjoying your TR.
it is sooo great that you and DH like to do the parks the same way. going going going...we're the same way. the kids are really troopers with us as the leaders, poor things. when we were there in january (that famous trip!) DH and i just filled as much of the days as we could. with the little ones, you really have to go with the flow, anything can happen from meltdowns to naps when its time to ride.

but you are so right, there is nothing like that look of amazing wonder in their eyes!

oh i want to go back.

Have to admit it's lots easier to go,go, go without kids (even older ones).

Saturday April 19 finally warm enough for Typhoon Lagoon. Drove over to TL. After finding a chair, we rode all three chutes of Crushn Gusher. They were great! We then headed over to Keelhaul Falls and MayDay Falls. These are still fun but not as exciting as Crushn Gusher. Took the Lazy River over to the wave pool. The big waves weren’t happening so we rode lazy river until the big waves started. Played in the wave pool for awhile then did Keelhaul Falls again. We laid out on the lounger until we weren’t so wet, then left for lunch and back to the room. Had Photopass pictures. We looked at them but no one else will ever see them. :scared1:
After cleaning up and resting we went to DTD. We played at Disney Quest. Had a very short wait for Rainforest Café (didn’t even have time to check out the stuff in the shop). After dinner did some serious shopping at World of Disney. Then on to PI for Adventure’s Club (and Kungaloosh) and the Comedy Warehouse.
Didn't bring my camera, sorry. :flower3:
