WDW without ADRs....almost

OK, OK, the picture size was fine...until it was a non-closeup of YOU!! No fair! We can barely see your face!! (but you DO look kinda cute!)

Mr. DeMille, Kathy's ready for her closeup!! (hint, hint)

oh that's so funny, i was thinking the SAME thing. i even moved closer to my screen as if i could see a little better!

i think that's hilarious that now DH wants to give his opinion! i'm always the one who makes the itinerary (with flexibility, of course, 2 little ones - you just have to be able to go with the flow sometimes) but i'm ALWAYS asking DH what he thinks about it all. but he's just like "yeah, sounds good." you know what i mean, they're not actually listening - "yes dear."

i've always wanted to go to disney quest. i just feel like with the little ones, there's not much they can do.

oh, and i LOVE raglan road. i love the shepherd's pie (i make a different version at home all the time), but my favorite is the cider! yummmmmy! it's not for everyone, but i love it. in fact, whenever we are at the england pavillion, i have to get one too.

on the trip with just DH, we went into epcot that way, and it was only around noon, but i had to get one..... maybe that's how we ended up with our special souvenir! too much cider!

Ok, remind me to STAY AWAY from the cider!

I too brought the laptop to my nose to see DL55! (you're beautiful, BTW) How funny! What an adorable picture of the red convertible! I have to find that!

It soothes me to know that my frustration with BF's "I don't care, plan what you want" attitude BEFORE the trip then "Hey, why don't we...." while on the trip isn't just me being too controlling. Apparently, its a common male trait. I guess I should get used to it.

:rotfl2: :rotfl: no cider for you??! c'mon - take the plunge!

it's funny how the men always do that. i guess if i'm going to take the glass-is-half-full side, at least when they're in the parks they are excited about doing stuff. they really do love disney and want to give their opinions. right?

Another Diet Pepsi addict here!!!!

Very interested to hear about how you managed w/out ADRs as I'm a planner and want to make them but my best friend is freaking out at the thought of planning this early. I'm trying to be more laid-back about the whole thing.

Good luck at the dentist. Looking forward to reading more!!!
With only two people who are not fussy (or have allergies) and are more into the rides we were never hungry. ;)

popcorn:: I'm in!

I love your pictures! And I can't wait to read more.

:goodvibes For the dentist!

I had the camera, DH dosn't know how to zoom. :rolleyes1 There are a couple more but not much better. I look a lot worse close up. :lmao:

::yes::

Saturday April 12, Dh left at 6:30am to play golf. I took my time getting ready then wandered around the resort. Today I checked out different modes of transportation. First I walked over to the Poly and rode the monorail to the Grand Floridian where I wandered around the grounds. Found the boat launch, took it back to the Poly and on to the Magic Kingdom (MK). I got off there and started walking over to the Contemporary. A couple of cast members (CM) picked me up in a stretch golf cart and transported me to the Contemporary. Took the monorail back to the Poly and walked back to the SOG. :moped: :boat: :car:
By then DH was finished playing golf so we went back to the Poly and took the monorail back to the MK. We took the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge and ate at the Whispering Canyon Café. That was a big meal!. Afterwards we rented 2 sea racers and scooted around the two lakes. We had a lot of fun. Back to the room to watch the Masters and rest.
We arrived at Epcot at 6pm. Mission Space (orange) had a 30 min wait. We decided to ride and we walked onto the ride, no wait at all. (Well it helped that they had a space for two people to fill.) We ate dinner at Sunshine Seasons at the Land. I met my first DISer!:yay: I, who wouldn’t think to go up to complete strangers and talk to them, actually saw a LGMH and went up to her and said HI!. Her DIS name is Sue in MN and she is a moderator of the DISablities board. She was very nice and not too startled to have a stranger come up to her.:goodvibes

We stopped in France to get pastries for dessert (cream puff and chocolate cake). We ate them while waiting for the Flower Power concert. We saw the Grass Roots which we really enjoyed. We stayed to watch Illuminations and were surprised that it wasn’t very crowded. But the crowd at the TTC for the SOG bus was huge so we took the monorail to the Poly. As we were leaving the Poly lobby building we heard the music for Wishes! We watched the fireworks from the Poly then walked back to the SOG.
My DH checked the distance from the garage to the edge of the property, it was .3 mile. We estimated another .1 mile to the monorail. Luckily walking is my choice of exercise. My motto is “if I want to eat I have to walk”. It’s sad when you get older and can’t eat what you want.

Didn't realize I didn't take any pictures on this day. These are of the Poly.

Kathy, I "know" Sue in MN from the DISabilities board. She's great! So cool that you got to meet her IRL!!

Loving your TR--keep it coming! popcorn::

I guess Killers are just nosey...I got closer and squinted too.
I'm glad you enjoyed Disney Quest. I've never been but need the pressed pennies. :rotfl: You sound like you had a great time exploring during 'golf time'. DH didn't have a ride in a stretch cart.

I think it's cool that people actually know others on this board. I doubt that there are too many DISers from NM. :goodvibes

I'm still here for the ride..enjoying your TR:yay:
Hurry back and post more!!
Thanks for the encouragement. :)

DH hates golf carts. :rotfl: I felt quilty if I was enjoying rides while he was golfing. I had never stayed near the MK so all the alternative methods of transportation were entertaining. :woohoo:

Sunday April 13 went Islands of Adventure (IOA) and Universal. We rode the Hulk and Spiderman with no waits. Went on the Pteranodon Flights just because it had a short line. It was fun but not worth a long wait. We went on Jurassic Park river ride and rode in the front. We didn’t get too wet. We did both Fire and Ice versions of Dueling Dragons. I really like these. Poseidon was about to start so we watched that. The longest line was for Seuss trolley. It gave a nice view of the park. It was getting cold so we went to Universal for indoor rides. The Mummy ride stated a 20 min. wait it was shorter than that. After getting out of the Shrek show it was colder and sprinkling. We left and went to Earl of Sandwich. We picked up a couple of sandwiches and ate them in the room. Sandwiches were very good. We watched the Masters and rested until dinner

Went to the Garden Galley, a buffet at the SOG, it was ok. Arrived at MK at 8pm for EMH. Picked up FP for Buzz Lightyear then went to Stitch. I thought it was funny even though Stitch spit on me. The Laugh Company was funny as well. We rode Buzz which I can’t hit the broadside of a barn (terrible score). After watching Wishes, we rode the Teacups. I love getting dizzy. We picked up our wristbands then sat on benches in front of the castle to watch Spectromagic parade.

We went on the Carousel of Progress (COP) sometime (terrible note taker). Riding COP really brought back memories of Disneyland when I was younger. After the parade, as the crowds thinned and it got cooler, it reminded me of the old days when the ticket books existed. They had special nights when a ticket included all rides (like it is now all the time) and it wasn't crowded. I really felt I was back in time.
We rode Small World, watched Philhamagic, Haunted Mansion. We rode Big Thunder Mt twice and then Pirates of the Caribbean. There were no waits it was great. Went over to Space Mt but it was down. We got back to the room at 2am. This is a late night for us as we are normally asleep by 10pm!

That is a super long day---but I like it!

You did Dueling Dragons??? That's the one coaster anywhere that I cannot do. Really crazy and I got off of it so dizzy.

That's so funny! COP is BF's favorite ride, and mine is IASW! I guess you never really get over the magic of when you're young.

Great pics again!

Monday April 14, went to Epcot. We arrived at 10am and picked up FP for Soarin. While there we rode the Living with the Land ride. MS(orange) had 30 min wait so we rode it. Went to the Seas with Nemo and friends. Rode the clamshells. Turtle talk with Crush had a 30 min wait, we meant to come back closer to seating time and forgot! So we didn’t see this. Rode the Imagination ride and saw Honey I Shrunk the Audience. It was time to ride Soarin. The FP line was one of the longer waits we had. I like Soarin but don’t think it’s worth a long wait.
It was now the middle of the lunch crowd (12:30). We ate at Electric Umbrella, didn’t take as long as I expected. We ate upstairs. DH left to go play golf. I took pictures of the topiaries and the butterflies and wandered around the World Showcase. DH doesn’t care for WS. I watched the Japanese drummers and an Italian clown. I went back to the room to rest and wait for DH.

When DH got back from golf we went to Hollywood Studios for the EMH. DH wanted to eat at the Sci Fi . It’s 8pm, I told him we wouldn’t get in, but he wanted to try. Surprise we couldn’t get in (I didn’t want to eat there anyway). :rolleyes1 So we ate at Pizza Planet. After dinner we watched the Muppets and rode Star Tours. We stood with the crowd for the 10pm Fantasmic and got decent seats. Since it was crowded after the show we we over to ride The Great Movie Ride. We then rode the Tower of Terror twice. I love this ride! The wait time for Rock n Roller Coaster (RnRC) was still too long for us so we went back to the room.

COP and IASW are my long time favorites at MK. I used to love Mr. Toad's Wild Ride too, but it's gone now.

Long day! The pics are great. Loved the butterfly. I'ld love to go during the flower show. Don't feel guilty for having fun without DH. He was out having fun golfing...unless he had a bad score. :rolleyes1

I am loving your trip report. I would love to get down to disney for the Flower and Garden Festival. It just looks so beautiful. I've seen videos of Deuling Dragons and it looks great. Hope to get there one day once my little ones are older.

Im in popcorn:: Just caught up and I love all your pics of Epcots Flower and Garden. And Sci Fi is cute but the food is... well not cute ;) so no big loss there!

I never got attached to Mr Toad Wild Ride so I don't miss it. It is sad when something is removed for something newer.

IOA is great for the tweens and teens. :thumbsup2

Hi dreamer17555 Thanks. I wasn't disappointed at missing the Sci Fi either. ;)

Tuesday April 15 we arrived at Universal at 10am. It was cold and windy. We rode the Mummy twice and rode Jaws. We ate Nathan hot dogs for lunch. We watched Disaster, more audience participation in this new version, it was fun. Went over to Men in Black, the sign said 5 min wait but once inside the building they announced it was a 30 min wait! :headache: If we had known that we would have gone on as single riders. For our second ride we did go as singles, much faster. We watched Animal Actors then Terminator 2. We listened to a musical group play music from the 50s- 60s, then watched the Blues Brothers. We left the park and ate at Margaritaville. Of course I had a cheeseburger and a beer.:cool2:

After resting a bit in the room we went to DTD. We went to the Comedy Warehouse. We ended up sitting next to one of the telephones. WE had a silly song made up about us. Then on over to the Adventure’s Club. We stayed to watch three shows and had a Kungaloosh.
