My family has decided to take a trip to WDW in January... and since I am the resident Disney "expert," I am doing most of the planning. Normally, when someone says family, you would expect 4 or 5 people...well, I'm talking about my parents, brother, his girlfriend and her parents, a couple aunts, an uncle, two cousins, my grandmother, and a friend of mine. In total 15 people!!! I have a few questions: Could someone please explain to me the whole Magical Gatherings concept. Also, since we need 6 rooms, how soon should we make our hotel reservations (I'm assuming as soon as possible.). ... And any other tips about travelling with a huge group you could give me!

Thanks!

We are going to be going next may (2005) with our extended family for the first time. We have been mefore and will be going again before that but wow it seems scarey to prepare for everybody! I wnat it to be a good time for everybody and we have a wide range of ages going. ANY help with plans would be a bonus for me.

May pixie dust rain down on all the grumpies and the magic fill all of them!princess: princess: ::MickeyMo

Me too.

Well we don't have 15 people but it maybe 7. My mom and dad are going (1st trip) Myself and my BF (1st trip) my son (1st trip) and maybe my BF's parents. I was worried with just my parents in making sure everyone has a good time. Many people suggest asking each person what they would like to see and have them send it to you. You can also split up and meet for dinners and other events. I plan on making plans and having them printed out so everyone knows what in plan for each day. I'm going to make the plans with the mindset that they can change if need be. The other times I've been to Disney we never planned anything and I didn't get to see much plus then you eliminate the whole "we'll what should we do?"

Sounds super fun! Imagine all the photos you will have with 15 people going :wave2:

I sure appreciate the links and advice. The new count for our trip is possibly 11 adults, 5 teens, two tots, two 6 yr olds, and two less than a year old babies! :earseek:

Talked to them and they all said plan for them so sure hope I do a good job. None of them have been there before so want them to have a good time. Three of the teens are mine and they don't mind going with the young ones so think we will do okay.

I sure appreciate the advice!
