we are taking my 16 year old niece for her first trip to wdw. She has recently been diagnosed with narcolepsy. It has been suggested that we get a DAS for her. Has anyone out there gotten a das for narcolepsy? Also any other tips or info you can share would be very helpful.

This too me is more of a mobility stamina issue then really needing to have another place to wait your turn.

What would her needs be as t it has to do with the lines what makes the lines hard for her.

Most forms of narcolepsy can be worked around by getting a wheelchair with a headrest. This may make a DAS unnecessary. The most common problematic manifestation of narcolepsy is something like a fainting spell.

You may want to spend a day or two with DN before your Disney vacation to observe narcolepsy incidents, which quality time can give you additional ideas on how to tour Disney with her.

The CM handling DAS at Guest Relations will likely reach this conclusion when you explain what difficulties DN may experience in the regular ride lines. (You'll need to explain without using the word 'narcolepsy' and without showing a doctor's note.)

You can use the word "narcolepsy", but as the DAS is needs based rather than diagnosis based, it won't help.

and if the CM here narcolepsy ( you know from tv commercial ) they may think you just get tiered ease and a wheelchair will fit the bill ( it might be just what she needs)

Narcolepsy generally does not qualify for DAS. You would be better assisted with a wheelchair just in case of a fainting spell. You can take the wheelchair directly into most lines nowadays, and for those you can't, you will be directed to the exit or wheelchair entrance.
