This will be our first trip with our daughter who will be almost 5 months when we go. We will be staying in the BCV for 17nights.

As we have never travelled with a baby before i was just wondering what everyone else takes? And what you buy out there?:goodvibes

Hi we took our son when he was 6 months. We took a travel steriliser as much smaller than a normal one and baby milk powder as was unsure if I could get the same brand there.
I brought other essentials like nappies etc once we got there.
Are you staying on or off site?
At MK there is a baby station which is fab, it has a kitchen for heating food etc, a baby changing room and a room to feed them with a tv and little tables for older children to eat at. I was very impressed, there was also baby essentials to purchase in there if you had forgotten anything.
We had a great time and he was really good on the flight there and back. People thought we were mad travelling so far with a baby but as a wiser person than me once said, "Children should enhance your life, not stop you living".
Have a great time xx

we took my sister 13 years ago when she was 10 months and we took everything but when we got out there they did so much for babies!

when we were going this year with the girls i was going to take only enough to last us a few days till i could get to walmart and just take their formula as they would eat anything and they do better nappies than us!!

so jealous your going out there with your baby! we have to wait to next year! i'm hoping to grap a sneeky trip to paris for my 30th!!

Youngest DD was 8months old when she 1st went:thumbsup2

I took her formula milk and bought everything else once there. As some of the others have said, IMO they have far more choice of baby goods and most are of a better quality, infact be prepared to be wanting to bring "Supplies" home with you:laughing:

Sarah i definately think a sneaky trip to Paris would be a good idea! Any excuse :)

We are staying on-site in a DVC studio at the BCV so the room will have fridge and microwave which will make things so much easier.

So all i will need is her formula and then enough of everything else to last us until the first evening when we are going to walmart.....oh and an extra case to bring back lots of baby goodies :)

we got tons of stuff last year when i went while i was pregnant, the baby stuff was fantastic and really cheap compared to here, we even got loads of toys to bring back!!!

babies r us was good for clothes as we got buy one get one half price and osh kosk bgosh i think its called is fantastic at lake buena vista factory outlets

Also there is a carters in orlando premuim outlets which we liked and of course bloomingdales at mall at millenia

We took our daughter when she was 3 months and had a great time! The best thing we took was a sling (ours was a baby bjorn) and we used it all the time, we didn't use the pushchair for her at all. It was easier to get onto buses to get to parks and easy to take her on to rides as she was strapped safely to me and slept or looked around. It was a lifesaver!
I agree with previous poster that the baby stations in all four of the parks are great and really well set up for either breastfeeding or bottlefeeding and nappy changing. People were absolutely lovely to us and we had a great time, the best holiday we've ever had with a baby (and we've had a few!!)
Enjoy!! :)

We took our 3 month grandaughter with us just a fortnight ago, arrived back this morning. On arrival at airport (Glasgow) DD had to taste milk formula which she had prepared, took microwave steralising bags, sudacream and bought nappies out there. The pampers nappies appear to be a size smaller than here in Britain GD uses size 2 here bought size 2 out of walmart but were too wee. On return trip again all bottles were tested, baby basically slept on plane there and back and quite alot in the parks due to the heat, very hot. Hope you have a great time.

We've been travelling to Florida with DD since she was 5mths old (now 4) and took DS this year when he was 5mths.

I would advise taking your own formula, we bought nursery water out there to make the bottles up, it was much easier and we took microwave steriliser bags.

We took enough nappies for 1 day and bought the rest along with wipes at Walmart. If you use nappy sacks then I'd take them with you as they don't sell them in many places.

A sunshade for the pram is a good idea, we did try a fan but it was pretty useless.

We took a lightweight sleeping bag from home and we used the pack & play (travel cot) provided by Disney in the rooms. You can request a proper cot but we felt it was slightly smaller than the Pack and Play.

We pre-ordered milk (for outbound and return journey) from boots airside 1 week before we left which means you are after security and won't need to taste. We have always used the family line at MCO and have never been asked to taste the milk or open the cartons.

Most of all, take it easy and enjoy it.

Noticed a comment about the sunshade for the pushchair and I wanted to add that assuming you're taking your own, do you have a sunshade that fits around/over rather than a parasol?

We never got on at all with the parasol that came with ours but found a great sunshade which wraps over the hood (extending it forwards) and down the sides (giving almost complete sun protection). This was a couple of years ago and I've noticed lots more on the market since :cool1:
