We took DS#1 at 9 weeks, after an emergency C-section, a 2.5 week NICU stay and neruosurgery, with his surgeons and pediatricians blessing. The trip was planned before we knew the baby was on his way and had no clue of his medical issues prior to the day he was actually born.
We

flew, took him on rides, went in the heat of July 4th week, took lots of extended family and friends (some even stayed in our 2 bd rm at BWV with us, we ate out twice a day. The easiest trips EVER he slept, ate, and took in his surroundings and we had a wonderful time.
We had SUCH a great time we took him 5 times before he was 2, then made plans to return with his baby brother at 2 weeks old and DS #1 2.5 years, we stayed just over 2 weeks and still weren't ready to come home. He ended up being 3 weeks old because he came earlier than his planned C-section date. It was easy peasy lemon squeezy. I BF the baby and the 2.5 year old hung with DH running all over (even found some goose poop during one nursing session, not sad i missed that memory

) due to being so fresh from surgery i avoided the big coasters but that wasn't a big loss to me.
It's a great time to hang as a family, I've found being home with a new baby is harder fresh from the hospital, we'd get the pop-ins to see the baby, etc. We have some of the best memories of just chilling with the new baby and DS #1 in our room at AKLV (we fell in love with the 1 bd rms there). DS #1 had at least one parent's sole focus and i was able to have DH at hand with out the constant distractions that being at home. I had 2 emergency sections and while i wasn't back running for 8 weeks post partum, walking the theme parks never bothered me and I never carried the toddler around if he needed carrying while there.
Go forth be merry and enjoy your new addition to the family!!!!!!
