Just wondering if anyone has taken their 15 month old to WDW. We will be taking DS in April of next year. How did it go? What did your DC eat? Was your 15 month old sleeping in a big bed by then or did you still need to get a crib from the hotel? TIA
Allison :bounce:

Our son went when he was around 20 months. A few things to share from our experience:

We fed him off our plates. He didn't have a big enough appetite to order his own meal.
He slept in the big bed by himself, first few nights were a bit rough, but he was so tired his fight was short lived.
DS loved the rides, except the ones with loud noises. The Great Movie Ride did not go over well with all of the gun shots.
Originally we were going to go back to the room for the naps and be back in the room by 7pm, his usual bed time. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Never happened. We were bad parents and DS slept in his stroller and we kept him out late for extended magic hours. He loved every moment.

When DS was 15-months, we took him to Hawaii. He did fine with travel and sleeping arrangements. Don't worry-kids adjust, especially at WDW. No matter how long our days were, DS was up and ready to go the next day!

We took DS who was about 14.5 mos last April. We will be taking him again this month at 18 mos. He did well. We did a combination of ordering his own kid meal and eating off our plates (mostly at the buffets). We did alot of character buffets because he eats free and their is a great variety of food, enough for a picky toddler! ;) At that age he loved the characters. I hope he will still like them this coming trip. He was a tiny bit shy, but they were very good with him.

DS slept in a crib from the hotel. He wouldn't sleep in a pack n play, but that's our DS. I still can't imagine DS sleeping in a bed at this point, but each kid is different.

We were at DVC and had a kitchen so breakfasts were easy to do.

The kids rides were a hit at MK. DS was a little scary of the louder darker rides. We avoided alot of them, but still felt we had enough to do. As PP mentioned, AVOID the Great Movie Ride at MGM!

We did go back to the hotel for naps and swims. DS is not much of a stroller sleeper and we stayed to a loose routine of what we have at home so everybody was happy.

Good luck and enjoy!

DS was 15 months during our 2004 trip. We were a bit concerned, because DS has always been very vocal when he doesn't like something. Needless concern in the end because he did wonderfully!

We also did a combination of sharing meals and ordering his own plate, depending on his appetite. The character meals were great, and he loved all the interaction. We had a Sorceror Mickey bottle topper to use when we purchased drinks from the stands, which worked out better for us than carting around a sippy cup.

He slept in a bed with his sister at the resort without any problems. He'd been in a big boy bed at home, though, so it wasn't an issue for us really.

He enjoyed all the rides he was able to go on, especially Buzz and Peter Pan. We ended up not returning to the resort every day for breaks as we had planned because he'd just fall asleep in his stroller when he was sleepy. He was a little apprehensive about the fireworks the first night, but after the first big explosion he was cheering and clapping for "more, more".

Hope you have a magical trip! :wizard:

We took our then exactly 15 month old a while back and she did great and had so much fun! Definitely keep a swim/nap break in the day, and don't push your luck at the end of the night. Try to stay as close to a sleep routine as possible to avoid meltdowns. I can't really remember what she was eating at this point. I know we stopped for yogurt and fruit (along with other baby supplies) on the way in, and I'm thinking she ate off of our plates otherwise. She slept in a crib we rented from ABBF, and that worked great for us. One or two nights she didn't want to sleep in the crib, so she slept with me. Another thing I'd recommend is toys. Bring new ones or rent them from ABBF. They are a great distraction from meltdowns in the room, if any. No matter what, you're gonna have a great time, so no worries!

We took our 18 month old DS in May. He slept in the hotel crib - he really liked getting into this crib because it had Mickey sheets! He napped every day - either in the stroller or in the room. He loved any ride with boats, including taking the ferry and small boat to and from MK/Poly. He also is really into trains and loved riding the monorail and just watching it go by. He rode many rides, but for some reason, refused to go on Dumbo-like rides (Dumbo, Magic Carpets, and Dino ride in AK) and screamed and cried when I went on these by myself (like I was being tortured before his eyes :guilty: ). He also had problems with loud rides - Ellen's Energy Adventure in Epcot was really loud and I had to cover his ears throughout. He did ok in Philharmagic, was a bit shaky in the Little Mermaid show at MGM, and freaked out completely in It's Tough to Be a Bug (we weren't even going to try this one because everyone says that it scares kids of all ages, but there was no line whatsoever, it was almost empty inside, and we just up and left as soon as he started crying).

This is a great thread for us, we are going to WDW in Feb 07 with our then 18 month old and I am learning a ton. I hope more people give ideas. So far it sounds like everyone DB (Disney Babies) did good. Can't wait to hear more. :thumbsup2
