I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago, and we're seriously considering a Disney Wedding. We're shooting for a wedding date in Sept. 2008. Is this too soon, based on Disney's planning process? I called DFTW a week ago, but I have yet to connect with a Co-Ordinator. It seems quick, but I'm not sure how my timeline stacks up to all you previous brides. Can we do it this fast and not go crazy?!?!? Any advice is appreciated!! :lovestruc

That is plenty of time!!! Disney does not follow a typical wedding planning schedule. You pretty much go for your planning session and in about a day or two your wedding is planned. You also don't have to hunt down and interview vendors etc. If they don't get back to you soon I would give them a call, for some reason they put my phone number wrong when I called the first time and so when they were trying to call me back I never got the message but I called again and they got it all straightened out!

Thanks for the reassurance! I think I will feel better once I am able to get some of my questions answered by a Co-Ordinator. I don't want to be a pain, but I'm kind of disappointed I can't get in touch with anyone...

were scheduled to have our wedding on sept 10. I just contacted them around the second week of Jan. and the person i spoke to says that it's perfect timing. so sounds like your on your way.

I agree with Skylarr29. You can totally plan an amazing Disney wedding in 8-9 months. My first call to Disney was in November, I got my planner in late December and my wedding is in 3 months. And it's just about all planned. We are just adding and subtracting items right now. They do take a while to get things going in the beginning, but after your first planning session, everything will fall into place.

Good luck with whatever you decide!! And CONGRATULATIONS!! And if you do choose to have a Disney wedding or disney theme wedding the ladies (and some guys) on this board are so amazingly helpful!

I'm sure you could find answers to some of your questions on this board, while you wait for your Co-ordinator.

I just called at the end of Jan and was able to book early May, no problem (we're getting married during the week, however). If they haven't called you after a week, I would call again. They say allow up to 3 business days for a call back, but they got back to me in 24 hrs.

Good luck!

I had to move my date up and now I have sucessfully planned a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding for 50 people in less than 2 months :)
You have plenty of time!!!

You have plenty of time. Many brides plan within 5 months and everything runs smoothly for them.. good luck

You all are awesome! :worship: Thanks so much for being so encouraging! I did speak with Bill, and I can't wait to lock in my date. Seems like once that happens, it'll go quickly. I can tell you guys will be one of my best resources! Thanks again!

I think I'm in the same boat.. kind of haha. I called and asked for the wedding planning kit, the woman I spoke with said it would be mailed and that I should expect to have it in the mail after 5-7 days....that was at the beginning of January haha. So hopefully it'll be here soon, granted our wedding isn't til October of 2009, but still, I need to know how much money I'm going to need and all that, so yea.. *fingers crossed!*
