I'm just starting my WDW wedding planning (YAY) and I have a ton of questions!

I'll start with this: I want my minister to officiate my WDW wedding, what am I responsible for costwise? Do I offer to pay his travel and lodging and leave park tickets to him? That makes the most sense to me, but is there something I'm missing?

Does the same go for wedding party?

Where I come from, the one officiating is also 'paid' whatever the current going rate would be. When I married, it was $75. This is offered in cash, in a thank you card, as recompense for his/her services. I would imagine the current rate is many times that now.

With that said, you paying for your pastor's transport and hotel basically gets him there and houses him, which is the necessary things to have him present...but....is that really recompensing him for his duties? While I'm sure he cares for you and is happy to oblige, he is still working and if you brought a local florist to orlando, you would fly, house and pay for duties too.

I wouldn't offer a disney ticket for this because he may prefer the cash to choose what to do when he is there. Just my two cents.

And with that said...HOW VERY EXCITING FOR YOU OH MY!!!! :goodvibes

Yes you would need to pay his tranport and hotel costs plus pay him for his time. Orlando officiants normally charge between $200 and $300 for preforming your ceremony. You would also feed him at your reception.

Most people do not pay for their wedding pary as they simpley cannot afford to. If you can hep them with costs i'm sure it would be greatly appreciated.

We brought our own officiant and covered his hotel and airfare. And of course he was invited to all the various wedding-related events. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the responses, it's been a long time since I've done this and I'm having a slow start. Yes, of course I would pay him for his time and have him at any pertinent functions. And paying to get him there and stay makes sense, just thought I'd double check that here.
