I know July is a rainy month. I'm looking at the forecast for the next 10 days and it is looking pretty crazy in terms of rain. Am I crazy for being nervous about this?

Not crazy, but take all weather forecasts with a grain of salt until 12-24 hours prior to the actual day. Florida weather can change on a dime.

We were at WDW from6/29-7/10 and it rained every day in the afternoon. It didn't really interfere with our plans except some swimming. Bring ponchos!

It will rain every afternoon most likely but not all day. It's a local climate pattern of the crosswinds colliding apparently, as opposed to a front moving across (although those can happen too). Get your must-dos done in the morning and early afternoon if possible.

Ponchos are good but if you hear thunder, you are close enough to be hit by lightning so take cover.

We use an iPhone app called Dark Sky for weather. It works great in the crazy Orlando weather, it tells you what is going to happen in the next hour and then hourly, as well as having radar maps.

Don't worry about the weather. Florida rain is normally in the late afternoon and last briefly. Rarely do we get afternoon storms that last longer than 30min-1 hour. Lately it's started raining about 4:30 pm pretty consistently.

But just because it's raining in one place doesn't mean it's raining at another. So it could be a downpour at HS, but MK is sunny.

We leave ponchos and windbreakers in the car just in case.

My least favorite memory of a trip to DHS ends with a severe thunderstorm that broke just as we boarded the tram for the parking lot. Real wrath-of-God kinda storm, we were soaked from the horizontal rain before we got to our row, and guess which end our car was parked on...

The other one.

On the ride home, running full heat (yes, in July) to dry us off, we heard on the radio that we were in a severe thunderstorm warning with a tornado watch, neither of which were announced in the park...

Lol... we will be there soon as well and panicked when I saw 80% chance of severe thunderstorms... my husband told us to embrace and love the rain as it will be part of our family memories especially since we lack rain at the moment in California!

You will probably face some showers to heavy storms during your visit.Still don't let it interfere with your vacation.usually doesn't last long and most lines to attractions are under cover and safe and dry.

I can't believe when we went in May I didn't get a drop of rain we couldn't believe it!

It has rained at some point on all but one of our trips to WDW. Ponchos or some type of rain gear is always packed. Sometimes it's nice to just play in the rain though. We have done that numerous times. As stated above.. It can/does rain at one park and not another. The rains aren't typically longer than an hour. During that time you could go to the Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress or any other indoor attraction and be dry. Carousel of Progress is 28 minutes long or something like that so you could run out half the rain in/on attraction. :)

We just got back it rained 5 out of 7 days but we only used ponchos 2 days. Some storms were torrential and some were like mist. I would not worry but I would prepare. We had ponchos, an umbrella, a towel in our bag, a waterproof backpack and when we saw storms coming we planned for something indoors ASAP. One afternoon we spent a couple of hours at the Electric Umbrella eating a meal and just relaxing. It was good food, AC, free refills and a bathroom. It was the perfect place to wait out the storm and recharge for the evening.

I always carry a rain jacket, and hope for lots of rain! People with lesser constitutions will run and hide, and real severe rain will leave the parks less crowded! :)
