Ummmm...thanks...but I'll pass on that whole leather pants thing...:)

Would you feel better if we put OT in leather pants Higgs? :p

Ohhh...sorry MY mistake - would you rather see him in Patent Leather pants? :p

Bottom 2 - Josh and Kimberley. Buh - bye to Josh.
Sorry members of the Clay Cult - but Clay has begun to trigger my vomit-reflex whenever he sings now.
-AP

vomit reflex my butt....Clay sang his *** off tonight!
He and Kimberly were the top two singers from tonight in my opinion....Ruben was great as well....but 3rd.

Trenyce....still don't like her....but at least she did better than Josh. He stunk tonight.

YAY for CLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Geez...I bet none of us thought that it would be Rooooben sporting the leather pants huh? :p

Oh yeah - Buh Bye to Joshy...sorry but at this point - he IS the weakest link.

And I can not wait for America to vote off Kimberly L. there is just something about her that I can not handle...

but Clay has begun to trigger my vomit-reflex whenever he sings now.
I know what you mean AP - I get the same feeling whenever Ruben sings...(where IS that pukey smile when you need one?)

"Vomit-reflex", now AP I just cannot see how you could say that about Clay tonight, about Ruben or Kim yes, Clay no way. Anyone who did not have some sort of goose bumps when Clay sang Solitaire must either be deaf or attended one too many Aerosmith/Kiss concert;) I honestly thought that that was the best anyone has done during the entire contest. Clay was the only person I felt who sang 2 different styles of music successfully. Ruben’s second song put me to sleep. Neil can write Clay's first CD and I will buy it.

My least favorite tonight Kim. As for the others, not worth mentioning. Clay rocked. Clay is the American Idol

It looked like Josh was ready to jump off the stage and beat the crap out of Simon. The thing is, Simon was way less harsh than he was to poor Carmen that time. He was right, Josh has fizzled at the end here while the others have.....gack....."raised the bar". But do I think Josh could be more successful in selling CD's than Kimberley and Trenyce? I think so. Make an all country CD and he's all set. Why he didn't sing a country version of Laughter in the Rain instead of Bad Blood, I'll never know. He's better with slower songs.

Kimberley was pretty good on song #1 but I thought she sucked on song #2. But wake me up when she's done...zzzzz.

Hell, I missed Ruben #1 completely, but didn't think his Sedaka song was THAT great. And if Clay's gonna get ragged on about those freaky facial things, someone's got to knock Ruben for that extended hand crap.

Thanks to whoever mentioned Trenyce's Whitney-esque hand clapping the mic thing. Ugh. Now I notice it all the time. "I got the feeling I was watching a drag singer" Ouch!! ROFLMAO....she did sort of look like a man with that wig or whatever it was she had on. Bad hair color! I think she oversang Tina Turner's Proud Mary, but overall she was better than Kim and Josh for me.

I think Clay's first song was great. He looks good in something different than the untucked shirt thing. #2 was ok, but I don't recognize the song, so it was missing that familiarity thing. But it was a tough song and.....he made it his own.

So it's only two this week?

I'll say Trenyce and Josh in the bottom two, with Josh going bye bye. At which point he'll leap off the stage, kill Simon on live TV and the show will end there, without us ever seeing who wins. Next year look for Arsenio Hall to take his place after Star Search gets axed.

My bottom 2 for tonight (it is only 2 right?) would have to be Josh and Kim with Kim saying "So long, farewell, I hope to see you soon ... Good bye"

By the way, did anyone else catch Simon when he said to Clay that you handle criticism like a grown up, you listened, learned and improved. Could he have been slighting Josh with that comment as Josh has been dissing Simon lately?

Ok -

First off - Clay Was Amazing, he was Claymazing He sang 2 totally different style. I think he was great with Build me up Buttercup. Fast paced, danced around a little bit. I was dancing on my coffee table. So was my 2 year old. He now says "GO CLAY" all day.

His version of Solataire (sp?) was great. I too was not familiar with this song, but wow. I had chills listening to it. Clay is the kind of singer that you are just mesmerized by. His voice just wraps you up. He is never off key, and always sounds rich. MMMmmm Hmmm, Clay is my Man.

Ruben - Thought his first song was good. Hated his version of "Breaking up is hard to do". Someone please tell him to stop that hand reaching thing. I was rotfl when Simon says "I now know why there's a cow shortage in California". I guess he was referring to the amount of leather needed for his outfit.

Treynece - I thought she did better than on recent nights. She does have a tendency to oversing and she yells through most of her songs. HATE that.

OT - sorry about mentioning that hand tapping on the mike thing. It was just driving me crazy. She does it all the time.

Kim L - I think she has a nice voice. She did ok last night. I just don't think she has much of a range.

Josh - Poor Josh. I think he has a great voice, but he is really country. He too doesn't have a range. I agree that if he were to cut a country CD is would do great. I definitely think we'll hear him (well I won't, I don't listen to country) on the country stations soon.

Bottom 2 -

Josh
Kim L.

Buh Bye - Josh

Someone please educate me why or why did Ruben NOT speed up the tempo on "Breaking up is Hard to do"? That was as painful as when Clay started singing "Tell Her About it" at a slow tempo....I was waiting and hoping for Ruben to speed it up, but he never did...thus allowing that stupid left hand reaching out thing - that I agree should be pointed out the same as Clay's facial expressions were...

I also would like to point out how brilliant I thought it was for song selection this week on Clay's part; as the idols choose their own songs...He KNEW that "Build me up Buttercup" would be a hit with BOTH audiences; with the older generation remembering the original song and the young generation being able to relate it to the song because of the movie "There's Something about Mary"...IMHO - his rendition was INCREDIBLE!!!

I honestly thought that Proud Mary was Trenyce's BEST performance yet...the second one?? Ick...why don't any of the judges ever comment about her singing through her nose?!? Not to mention the yelling...

I thought that last night's show was the best AI by far...GREAT music, FANTASTIC song selection, down to the best of the best...I really enjoyed last night's show....

Hummm... I need Clay's "Build me up Buttercup" here at work to get me through the day - anyone know where I can *buy* (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) a copy?!?

Lizzie...your my new best friend!!

I just watched Clay doing "Build me up Buttercup"...and now Im listening to "Solitaire"....ahhhhh......life IS good....

Madonna,
check out the whole website. it's awesome. I just bought an "aichin for Aiken" t-sirt and a "claymate hat. Even had them express ship so I can proudly wear my hat at WDW.

Well my AI viewing was interrupted last night and I didn't get to review the tape this morning, so I don't know how well I will be at "judging" this week. I can pretty much say that I am tired of them all. And I really don't think Simon was THAT off with the comment about Trenyce's first song looking like a drag show. Blech. Don't like her. Kim was so-so, there's just something about her that I don't like. A girl at work said she seems conceited, idunno if that is it or not, but there is something. Ruben and that hand thing UGH, plus I'M SICK OF THE SLOW SONGS. Clay is a bit too Wayne Newton-ish for me (and yes I know Mr. Newton makes tons of money, but that is from the grandma's that just looooooooooove him and throw their panties on the stage at him). And Josh, well if Josh would put out a Country CD I would snap it up in a heartbeat. And I like a guy with a little spunk. I missed him going back at Simon, but hey sometimes you gotta let off some steam. Josh seems like the competition is getting to him though, he doesn't have that confidence that he had earlier on. He is being more controlled and that is what is hurting his singing. That said I don't know who will be going home. It's getting tricky now, and it's not so clear cut. On one hand I want to say Josh (and I will be crying tonight if that happens, I'm so pitiful, I can now understand OT's pain), on the other hand I pray and hope it is Trenyce that goes buh-bye. I'm so torn, I don't know who to choose. Waaaaaaahhhhh. I have to think of it some more.

Thanks for indulging me. :o

Josh seems like the competition is getting to him though, he doesn't have that confidence that he had earlier on. He is being more controlled and that is what is hurting his singing

No, it's his voice

Jas - your not pitiful...I would be crying if they sent Clay home...

I was VERY glad that I picked Kelly Clarkson as my favourite right from the beginning last season, it really is painful to let your favourite idol go...and even more so once the show is over...hummm....someone once told me about the feeling you get when you finish a game like Kingdom Hearts - 'a happy accomplished, yet sad feeling' - because there is no more story to unfold...kinda like there will be no more songs to be sung....wahhhhhhh....I miss the show already...

As for Kim - kudo's on the conceited thing, and that laugh...OMG could it BE any more annoying?!? Honestly - I would MUCH rather see her get the boot...take that heart and go on and on and away with it already....

Jas - first off, thnks for reminding me of something I stupidly forgot last night. I got a phone call just as Clay started Solitaire and missed that performance. But, then, you reminded me that I was taping the show for my daughter who was studying for a test tomorrow. DUH!

You guys are evidence of how different we all are in tastes and such. I thought Kimberly's performance of []Where The Boys Are[/i] was the best performance of the night. She has wonderful range, depsite what some of you think.

OTH, Josh has lost me as a fan. I don't think it's his voice as much as his confidence. He would have been better on Nashville Star I wish he hadn't done so poorly, because I'm afraid that will keep Trenyce around one more week :(

Trenyce - man if you are going to do Tina Turner, you better bring it. What made that song so great when Tina sang it was the seduction she brought to her version. Trenyce doesn't seduce me. She reduces me....to tears.

Ruben has been better. I was not that impressed with Ain't Too Proud To Beg ANd for the first time I realized how much of a breathing control problem he really has. But, you can't resist that smile.

Clay - He was wonderful. Why doesn't Simon get the song? What's not to understand? I loved Clay's answer, "Well it is British" :)

I didn't realize they ony pick a bottom two tonight. I think it will be Trenyce and Josh with Jish saddling up for home. Sorry, guy, but have a nice career in Branson.

Next week will be real interesting once the judges start picking the songs for the contestants. Please, please, please pick something as un-Whitney Houston like as possible for Trenyce. Please?

Excuse me, Josh will be having a nice career in NASHVILLE. :D That is after he finishes his stint with the Marines (I guess, who knows with him being stationed in California and all).
