Day 7 continued:
Well MGM had seemed to empty out. The rain had stopped, maybe Fantasmic wouldn't be so bad. We got there 45 minutes ahead of time and it was already 60-70% full. Ahhh-- this is where everyone was. We got seats, but the show was definetly a sell out.
DH and I had bought cookies before the show to snack on. We asked DS and MIL if the wanted one before we purchased. Both said NO. Well, we pull out the cookies, MIL-- oh that looks so good. Give me 1/2. Just 15 minutes ago you didn't want one. Why do people do that???
Anyhow, we keep hearing this recording saying Fantasmic could be delayed due to inclement weather. Getting nervous as I really want to see this show. It had stopped raining for the time being, but it felt like the air was still thick w/ rain.
MIL needs a potty check and a cigarette. She is a chain smoker at home-- so the smoking only once every 1-2 hrs is "rough" on her. You won't find me leading a pity parade. There is almost 35 minutes to show time. DH is gonna take her, knowing she'd probably never find her way back.
We hear the announcement that there is only 5 minutes until show time-- no DH or MIL. I'm getting a little mad. What was it this time??? Why are they late this time???
They got back to our seats w/ less than a minute to show time. I made some remark under my breath about cutting it short. Oppps, turns out DH had been waiting in a souviner line to buy me something. The show was great-- totally amazing. Only better each time we see it. At the end though the entire ampitheater filled w/ horrendous amounts of smoke. To the point you couldn't even see Mickey do his final number. I don't know if one of the effects malfunctioned or what. I was gagging alittle, and looking for my inhaler.
Once the smoke and crowds disappeared we decided to make our way to the exit. We are always the people that take the 5 extra minutes to sit and wait in large crowds. Turn around, only to see MIL is already gone. Great-- where did she go?? How many casualties did she leave in her path?? In crowds she was reckless on that thing!!!!
DH is grumbling again. We don't know if she went up the entrance path, or down the other exit. We're all tired and we don't want to have to take another 45 minutes to look for her. We decide to take the entrance path (DH's reasoning was the smoking area was up there and maybe that's where she went--- UHMM, didn't we just inhale a lifetime of smoke from the show???)
Sure enough there she is!!! When we get there, she wants DH to go get into another souviner line, there's something else she wants. She'll wait here. Now, she's been out here for 15 minutes, why didn't you do it then?
We make our way out of the park, seems like a lot of the crowd is already gone. It takes alittle while to navigate the parking lot, but we are soon home and on our way. Tomorrow we are headed home. How bittersweet, this is the first time EVER-- on ANY trip I'm not dreading the day. I haven't begun to pack yet, and I'm exhausted. We don't leave until mid-afternoon so I decide to wait until the morning to pack.
We get back to the room-- still no mention of what's in the bag. I'm starting to think DH was being sarcastic when he said it was for me.
