WDW VMK Kiosk & Gold Ears

Hello,
Someone on VMK claimed she was in Tommorrowland at WDW yesterday and used the VMK Kiosk to get Gold Ears. Can anyone confim this? The last tme I was there was around Halloween. The cast member said there were no plans to bring them to Tomorrowland, VMK Central closed and it was not going to come back. But like I said someone on VMK claimed she got the Gold Ears yesterday through a kisok in Tomorrowland and that it's very hard to get. Unless I hear otherwise from someone here I won't believe it. I will be going there this weekend since our passes run out so I will check it out if noone knows.

Nope. I will let a local confirm, but this is a rumor that had been going on ever since vmk central shut down.

The ears were in the hat shop anyways.

What makes this confusing is that the VMK Central in Disneyland was in Tomorrowland. And VMK Central at WDW was in the Main Street Cinema.

Are you sure they were talking about WDW and not Disneyland?
And the VMK terminals gave black ears, never gold. That sounds wrong, too.
The only way we got gold ears was a VMK collector's card with a hat purchase at certain hat shops at both Magic Kingdoms. And I had thought those cards were already gone.

Whoever was talking about gold ears in VMK was probably making it up, since there are no VMK terminals in use since the Main Street Cinema closed a few months ago.

And gold ears (Given when buying real ears in the park stores) were to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the park, so it would not make sense for them to still be giving them out since that is long over.

No, there is not a terminal at WDW anywhere. The terminal at Disneyland in T/L only lets you play and create a character. You don't get any ears there though not even black. No more perks for creating a character in park. I know I feel sad too

When did you make a character? A friend of mine made one at DLR two weeks ago and got the black ears. Please let us know the date so we can verify if the black ears are really gone.

It wasn't actually me, but someone who is in the know who said that. But maybe they are wrong about not getting the ears. I will ask them if they are sure that we don't get ears. But I am positive about there not being a station in WDW.

The only way to get black ears (other than trading for them) was to make a charater at either WDW or DLR. Sadly WDW no longer has the vmk computers so you can't make a character there but as of 2 weeks ago you still could make a character at DLR and get the black ears. Can anyone confirm if they are still giving black ears when you make a new character at DLR?

Okay so I asked my friend and he was adament about not being able to get the black ears when you create a character. So I guess I'll just leave it at that as i can't say from personal experience.

Was just at DLR for the weekend visiting my son and his family and I got the black ears for creating a new character so as of Saturday it was still giving them

drat! it seems like the only trades for black ears are if you have "super rare".... maybe they will release them for a weekend sale sometime in the future

Don't feel bad I got my black ears by trading a snowman magic and levitation magic when it first came out. That same day I had another person offer me black ears for one levitation magic. Good luck!

There sort of is another way to get black ears...

If you have a character that is created in the park, but you let them expire (don't play them for months.) Hopefully you have traded any items they have to your main character. When you log back in as that character, you have to give them a new name, BUT you get new black mickey ears (and any other goodies you used to get when making a character at the park) and they retain the credits they had before.

No Way!! That is so cool. Usually I try to sign on several times a week -- usually in the evening around 8:30 pm ET. When would be a convenient time for you? I can't access VMK during the day (firewall issues).

Well I want to see my bff host hula will you be around in another hour or so? If not, thats the time I am around most anyways, so we shouldnt have a problem finding a good time.
