WDW VMK Central: Do you buy stuff there?

Hey everyone! Now I know this probably seems very silly that a cast member wouldn't know this answer, but I'm being completely honest because I don't know!!! I just started playing VMK and I totally LOVE IT! I actually have a very good friend who makes the majority of the "pins" on VMK and he got me into it. Anyway...I have walked past the VMK Central on Main St. USA countless times and I've seen the cards there. Are you actually able to buy the cards/"codes" or can you only get them by doing in the park quests? I wasn't sure if you were actually able to buy anything that you could use on VMK. Sorry if this is a ridiculous question!!

Currently you can only get cards from VMK Central by redeeming quests there. I dont know if they are still available but you use to be able to get cards from certain shops with the purchase of certain items. (IE retro mickey tshirt card with the purchase of a tshirt , penny press with the purchase of candy?)

Even though you are supposed to be able to get VMK cards from other places, like at the cashier at the end of the Splash Mountain ride photo pick up desk, or in the candy shoppe or even the hat shop, they never have any available, and look at you like you are crazy when you ask, because they never seem to know anything about any cards, or VMK for that matter.

I think it's really odd that cast members aren't at least made aware of the game in some way. We have made many trips down there hoping to come back with VMK stuff, and not only does VMK central run out of cards, which I still can't believe sometimes, nobody else knows what you're talking about!

It gets a little frustrating for us VMKers sometimes.

Yes because VMK central is in there. I bought my pal mickey there, a cool walt and mickey mug, made charcters , bought pal mickey clothes, and some DVD. So I buy more in that store than any where else in the park.

I have never seen any of the pin sets there......when did you last see them there? Also, I assumed the original thread was about VMK realated items and not just your standard WDW items....

When I first read the title I thought you were wondering if anyone had ever bought the stuff at Central as well lol! Yes, we have actually.

The cards in the candy shop and pin shop are still available. The last time we went we stopped in both places and DD asked the nice ladies behind the register if they had VMK cards and at both places they gave her three cards.

You can purchase the VMK Pirate Pin Set in various pin trading locations around Magic Kingdom and other locations.

See what I mean?? They are so secretive about everything!! There was no way I could have known about the pin sets behind the counter!!

Before we venture out to the park, we always stop and ask at Central where they suggest we go that is vmk related. I always ask if there are any cards with purchase offers or pins available with vmk codes, they never seem to know. They have never offered any pins for us to purchase, because we totally would. Oh well. I guess I just sound like a disgruntled VMKer!
